Discontinued The Palm by Vaporblunt

To be honest, in order to keep to the price point and the size that we wanted the battery had to be external. The glass air path is completely straight so cleaning it couldn't be easier. I believe this is a heater not a vape, without having a circuit board and controlled heat I just have a hard time calling it a vape. So as far as heaters go, I think this is a well thought out improvement to existing products. With that said, I really tried to take the opinions of this forum serious while this product was being designed so I appreciated any and all feedback.

Just curious cause I have a MFLB and I don't really use it that much because of the batteries also. Wouldn't it have a cost a fractional amount more to have a cover over the AA and an external button to bridge the battery wiring? I would have picked one up even if it was like $20 more, but for someone like me who needs to medicate frequently I get tired of pushing that battery and after long sesh's sometimes my hand even cramps up occasionally. Just my 2 cents

Adding wires and a switch (resistance) to such a small power source would drastically reduce performance. I remember a discussion about this in the MFLB thread.

That makes sense I am used to thinking in 240 or 480 voltage not 1.5 thanks

Not wanting to flog a dead horse but the batteries used on e-cigs contain the switch so the only difference between using them and using AA would be a screw in connector just like the one on any e-cig. These batteries are available in a variety of power levels, models that are chargeable off of a usb port, pass thru usb use and even variable voltages allowing longer life, more power and simpler charging and use. So what I am talking about is using existing proven technology not recreating the wheel.

Actually the two are not remotely alike, really. This scheme uses currents like ten times higher (at lower voltage) than any e-cig. In fact, a very narrow segment of the high current NiMH chemistry AA cells out there can cut it. It's far from a routine application.

This is way more like MFLB than Ego or Atmos.

Not to create tension but exactly like a MFLB. Might be getting off topic except my comments are directed toward the people designing new devices and this is the latest new botanical vape. When you design something like this you first decide what power source you will using and then design the device. Many similar devices are built to use different power supplies. MFLB uses the same power supply. TV Evolution uses basically a 6v e-cig power supply or even possibly 3.7 (LV Evolution) haven't seen great reviews on LV. Atmos raw also uses e-cig power. So my basic problem is except for look I don't see this as an advance just a restyling. I understand that all of these products give different results while trying to give the same result. Which is to recreate a Volcano that you can carry in your pocket. We would all like to be able to load a device once a week (month, year) use it as much as we want with no maintenance and have it work perfectly "vapevana". I don't see it coming soon for botanicals they have too many variable. Grind, moisture, packing etc.. I like my MFLB but it's not perfect. So when I see a new device I want it to be a real improvement not a rework. Not for me because I have a MFLB but I don't think it's a bad device just not an real improvement. Good vape to all.

A few differences between this and the mflb:
- removable bowl
- glass air path
- ceramic heating element

This alone provides a much different usage than the MFLB, so i think we found improvement already. Whether it will be better than the MFLB, time will tell..

First off, howdy! Interesting points, thanks for posting them. FWIW I'm not sure your time line is always true. This is more likely 'form follows function' in that you start with the heater then come up with a power source (or sometimes sources) that will drive it effectively. Few 'top down' designs start with 'I want to use this supply....'. It seem natural to me that both the LB and this guy should end up using the same battery, it's what a competent engineer is likely to suggest.

And while 'real improvement' would be nice, all cars are basically the same yet each has it's place and fans. Same is true here. There are a lot of 'stem vapes' that are very similar, but each is, I think legitimate? Likewise, the market has room for a few more bong makers, even if they're not all that different. I agree no major improvements I see, but some minor ones worth considering for some?

A few differences between this and the mflb:
- removable bowl
- glass air path
- ceramic heating element

Careful here, Lad. The air path is not all glass, arguably the vapor path might be, but he air goes past plastic. That's very important to some.

And the heating element is definitely not ceramic. It seems to be the same sort of SS mesh as MFLB. There's a ceramic socket it plugs into, but the part that gets hot is little different.

Yes, you can remove the bowl for replacement (remember, doing so destroys it), but it's not really removable in the normal sense (can't take it off and clean it and put it back). This is clearly a service advantage for some in the event of failures of course.

All such devices are compromises, like most of life I guess? Those compromises lead to differences that give us choices in the market place....which is a good thing?

Yeah and to be honest, the mflb was never quite "enough vape" for me...

Going to be a hard sell if it's still $100...

Yea I agree with this. I never use my MFLB because it does not pack enough of a punch for my needs. When i am done with a MFLB session my first thought is usually to reach for another piece and medicate more. I wish devices would move beyond using loose batteries to power their products. That is always a negative in my book.

I wondered what happened to the manufacturer. He did stop replying to threads back in may. I noticed on his VaporBlunt website that the color options and the choices went from like 6 to 2. I think because they sold out of units, and have not made any more production runs. I wonder if they is just spread too thin trying to develop the Palm and keep up with the VaporBlunt.

Well looks like they proved me wrong, it is now listed for sale on gotvape and vapornation for 109.99. No mention of it being a presale either. Still a little skeptical since the manufacturer dissappeared but maybe hes been too busy trying to release this, who knows.

Disappeared! I always wanted to be a magican :) I have not been active here because we have been obsessively changing the Palm so almost any answer wouldn't have been final. The delay was caused because we rejected the original prototype because the screen wasn't to our liking. It was an easy fix but very time consuming.

I will answer every question that has been asked, but It will take me a little while. Also the video is my first priority but I couldn't shoot it off the bad prototype so I have basically been at a standstill. I feel that you guys are really going to like the Palm, it just feels perfect to me now. I know you all want details and specifics and I will supply them, but in the mean time take my word please that the Vaporblunt has delivered on this one.

I am a big fan of "OF", so please private message or email me your information and I will send you a demo unit, I know that I will have 50 emails tomorrow from other members asking me for a demo unit, but I cant run a non profit!! . "OF" has been very active in both the palm and the vaporblunt forum, and we are thankful for your help with all your informative posts.

Sorry for the bad grammer, I just wrote this off of the top of my head on my phone. Thanks for the support everyone, I hope you like our newest toy :)

Welcome back... I figured you got busy. I also noticed some color choices dropped off the VaporBlunt website. I assumed it was because you had not made more since you were so focused on getting the Palm down right. I saw the most recent images. It does look interesting.

Welcome back!
I like the look of the palm and the white unit i think, will look less like a pipe, which for me is good.

Will the revised screen be removeable/replaceable for an iso bath/maintenance if care is taken not to snap the ceramic surround:).

I assume my MFLB power adapter will work with the Palm too.

Thanks and good luck

Sticking my nose in, my understanding is the screen can be removed and replaced by the user, but removing it damages it enough so you need a new one. Could be wrong, but that screen is pretty frail and the clamps need to make very solid contact since we're moving a lot of electrons through.....

I would not make that assumption. Even if it works electrically, there could well be mechanical issues. It definitely needs to be tested. Hopefully it will.

I agree, great to see life in the project.
