Discontinued The Extreme Vaporizer Thread Part II

I bought tubing at a local headshop labeled Vapor Hot Box brand. If the tubing seems too small/tight, dip it in hot water, and mold it around the mouthpiece/elbow. 50 cents a foot.

Here's one for you extreme owners, why not use a wand? I have a crude version going right now that allows the dome screen to be touching the element, sealed with another screen so there's no escapees and combustion.
wandn.jpg

There would need to be a little circle of glass at the joint as in the middle of the normal bowl, to hold the screen in place. what do you think FUCK COMBUSTION?

Or another option, if any glassblowers want to alter the standard cyclone bowl design, move the central circle down closer to the female joint that connects with the element. Then you can pack the elbow screen and all that and it woks really well. ill attach pictures in due course i hope

While I'm here I'll offer another general tip: when you're packing the elbow using pressed kif really makes a difference. It takes up very little space and gives you a ton (maybe 5 or more I'd say with just the bottom of the screen covered) of very large, manly hits.

For example, this is after 10 large hits. i am completely gone, they were huge. behold:
newxf.jpg

It's still going strong too.

I would estimate these methods have cut my usage by 40% on the original bowl. So compared to how much I would go though smoking...I would say it's lasting 4 or 5 times as long, that's good going i reckon.

Running the fan at speed one for just a few seconds when you've put a new bowl in will clear out the stale, wispy vapour and produce much thicker, cloudy vapour consistently. You can then proceed to hit as you will, or fill a bag.

you could just pack the screen normally and turn the temperature up. im pretty sure it has similar effects with a lot less work and possible voiding of warranty. Just because it shows the temperature of the heating element, most of us know the the exact temperature of the air convecting over your herbs is slightly different than the temp readout given digitally.

As far as I can see, simply turning up the temperature has the same effect as anything that places the herb closer to the element. The read-out is not showing the temperature of the herb, it just measures a fixed point and serves as a repeatable reference. Unless 260 is not high enough for you, I don't understand why you would want to get herb closer to the heater. What am I missing?

Now where is the fun in that?

Turning the heat up is just going to blast through the normal bowl or elbow screen in exactly the same way as it did before, just faster and less effectively. I wanted to achieve results similar to a purple days in terms of quantity and output, from what ive seen on videos its kinda close. By placing the herbs closer to the element they surely experience much more condensed hot air flow, in my glazed red eyes that roughly equates to a more efficient vaporizing experience. They can still move around since the screen is packed with such little material. It's a smaller area yes, but im using much less.

Now, using a wand this idea becomes much more practical, a custom wand would look nice and there's plenty of room to expand to whip, bag, bong whatever usage. That was available before, but with the original bowl design, which I wanted to improve on.

This, being ground leaves largely:

produces this at 190: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf5DVsOQZRo for a good few hits

Maybe not though, I am just a lazy stoner after all.

Thank you for the reply to my post a few days back, this place is the best place to come for an education, plus a lot of laughs. I'm about to go fire up the E right now and kick it for a while, just wanted to say thanks again!:D

To pakalolo:

Yeah, my Tuff Bowl is doing the same damn thing, cracking on the silicone sleeve. Already lost two small chunks...

To all:

Increased my brownies a bit. 27g avb and this time used 11g of some pretty long roaches (1/3 hooters...) and one of those brownies left me feeling fuckwooed. Yeah, it made me invent a word.

Electrician:

I'd be interested in quantifiable results if you want to try and measure them. (I'm too lazy/ripped.)

A lot of people here relate thickness of vapour to quality, but I think heavy vapour is more a function of heat--hotter gives thicker vapour, assuming the same herb is used. From my (non-quantified) experience, heavy vapour is less efficient for me because a) it sometimes makes me cough it out, and b) even if I hold it a while, I wind up exhaling visible vapour. I prefer lower heat and a medium to thin vapour, which is absorbed completely if I hold it in.

I guess you could measure output by simply blowing balloons until there's no more vapour. I'm willing to bet you get more balloons of medium lower heat vapour than you will of thick higher heat vapour from identical quantities of the same herb, but I haven't tested it. Quality, on the other hand, is hard to quantify. Number of hits to get zonked, I suppose.

As for condensing the air flow, that's not related to how close to the heater element you get. People describe using an elbow pack to get the same effect as you do, and that moves the herb further away from the heater. Both your technique and elbow-packing are similar in that you are forcing the air through herbs confined to a smaller volume. That's what I think is the key, not herb-to-heater distance.

I think there's a thread here somewhere in which someone described making a custom bowl that had a narrower opening, with PD-like results. Same idea.

Another wise word: put an extra screen over the bowl, below the elbow joint. This screen will collect all sorts of resin and green and what have you. Later you can use this screen on its own in a bowl, turn up the heat and let the good times roll.

Completely missed the post above, man im gone. I never fully agreed with huge clouds that you exhale instantly either, it always used to be a ghost every hit game for me. But if you can get away with very little herb then it is pretty funny. Blow up a really dense bag for example using some technique then take small, manageable breaths and get wicked stoned. I dunno man, I posted loads of theory somewhere or another.

Tanagble quantities i can give. My mind is oddly active and is making me post variations on an idea in various locations. Here is a main result to begin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf5DVsOQZRo this density was given at 190, fan speed 1 and was enough to nearly fill a bag. Not to burst mind. The bags were generalyl giving 3+ big hits, and these hits could get too big.

I used this much normally, in one way or another
newxf.jpg

with a canadian quarter for reference. and secretly because i feel proud being here. haha that particular load was a night cap, fluke 10 hits i think, added a bit and got a few more. Its all documented on a toothbrush i have lying in the area, 15 tally marks and a big K.O. What a tangent, imagine that much used but in crushed bud to get a feel for your regular bowl.

I can also offer thoughts with regard to heat to vapour thickness. You are right. However, this technique (and in a much more professional way the herboorizer and vriptech wand) work by heating through all the herb in a short time. I don't own a wand, but im guessing from videos. In my technique, also there is no need to stir the bowl and when it comes out the herbs are totally spent. Combustion does not occur (sub 225 degrees ish), so we cannot worry about excess heat. When the herbs ae done, they are done and just stop producing vapour.

I hope this post is going some way to answer your queries.

So i hear arizer now market the Extreme Heat Wand:
hehexx.jpg

That's a cheap bong (if i could only have waited i couldve owned an ehle at the same price...idiot), roor 14.5 to 18.8 adapter in the downstem, dome screen packed and dropped into the adapter into which it fits perfectly.

strange thing is...it looks identical to the original. honestly, is there anything it cannot do? no, the answer is no there is not. Ok so it doesn't hit like a vriptech or herborizer, but what do you expect. The hits are solid, they taste good, material used is minimal, a medium high will require just one bowl and its got a bloody fan for gods sake. Arizer should get a jack of all trades medal, maybe ill make one and send it to him.

lol the things you do look so dangerous. i get way too stoned to even think about using my E as a heat wand. lol one little tip and crack, there goes the heating cover. :uhoh:

Another bonus: since the GonG seal is not broken until we reach the element itself, the classic bong bubbling noise comes out of the air intake. I enjoy it anyway.

Beautifully is how. Tomorrow this post will contain a picture of it in action. It gets a lot out of what is really quite little, much less than a regular bowl.

.._. _._. :-)
@Electrician that looks freaking sweet but honestly I'm with ill. I've already replaced (2) covers.
I would have to build a mount of some sort to hold my E before I would have done that (at least permanently) because as ill points out I too would certainly break mine. But dude very nice addition to the E.
Looking at the set up again I'd do some sort of quick mount for the bong too for obvious reasons.

Oh, don't you worry about the electrician, ump. That fucker will most definitely break the heater cover someday, but it won't matter cause he will just duct tape it to some broken glass and hit it through an apple.

Some people just love to fuck with stuff, and the electrician has that quality in spades! I LOVE his posts and pics and he keeps me coming back to this thread.

oooo darlin, im flattered. I think what got me going was all the tips and tricks that I read about, like packing the elbow and all that, unfortunately though i didnt stop. Eitherway, heres a milkshot for you all:
1002599.jpg

That's big manly vapour.
85289049.jpg

The exhale is much more impressive, ill try and get a video going soon but thats easier said than done. Any of you could easily top this by the way, that bong was $70 and is not exactly the best. Mind you, every cloud - i got the roor adapter for free, no idea why but im not complaining.

This could signal the end im sad to say folks, i really dunno what i can do with it past this. It's everything i wanted. We'll wait until someone come up with a new style of vaporizer so i can mold the extreme to that as well. Of course, this is not to say i will stop using it, that part has only just begun.

Well, electrician...

That is one interesting idea (no tubing too! :D ).

It is an interesting bong too (never really saw one like that, but it looks quite functional).

What are those colored things in the water? :p Just kidding :p

How come you have not shared any of your genius over over here ( http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=1751 ) -- I know that I would love some of your ideas. ;)

Haha, I'll come clean, i'm far from well versed in the world of diffusion. So much so that i lost half of my beads and with this new bong there are nothing like enough to properly fill it. I assume thats a disgusting faux pas. What i loved about the idea was getting a bunch of beads for $1.50 and running a savage burn on people trying to sell me the same for 10 times the price.

In truth also id not seen that thread before. My mind is a lot like the toronto subway, basically one track. I'll check it out and probably learn some new things.

The bong is a "gear", i was reluctant to mention as im sure all id hear with regards to that name was negativity and disgrace. Be assured i didnt buy it thinking i was getting a good deal or anything, i just had to try the idea because I'm like that. What I was looking for ideally was something like this http://www.everyonedoesit.com/onlin...lear_Cylinder_Bong__250ml.cfm?iProductID=5917 . Are those good? I see adverts for them at the bottom sometimes.

Oh also, would anyone mind if i added more to the jack of all trades aspect on the vaporpedia article? Basically condense some of the ideas going around. I'll make clear its not necessarily for the faint of heart.

Hi all,

I got my Extreme a couple weeks ago - had a Vapir One before that (I wasn't impressed with its build quality and the darn thing was just too fiddly). Anyway, I've been chugging through all the threads online to better understand how to best use the Extreme. I've learned a lot, especially here. Yesterday I tried packing the elbow screen, as suggested, and I gotta say that I am loving the tasty clean THC hits I'm getting that way.

I like this vaporizer and have had no QC or reliability issues with it at all.

I also like The Electrician's E > Bong rig. I'd like to build up something similar (and sturdy on account of I am pretty uncoordinated, and don't want to break anything), but not being familiar with glassware terms, some kind of List Of Parts would be helpful.
