Gonna start back turning solo stems this week. Will be working on Bog Oak, Blackwood and Cocobolo, even have a couple small pieces of BE Afzelia Burl that am gonna spin into a couple super nice limited edition solo stems. After I get these caught up I am gonna try working on the FW 2.0 Stems. Am anxious to see how well I can make something work for it.

Had a hella time the other day, took a little time out, my good friend and I went duck hunting for the first time this year and we nailed em, we whacked a bunch of really nice wood ducks. Those freaking birds are so hard to hit, I shot over 30 times, the gun barrel got so hot you couldnt touch it! The next day I marinated the duck and fried it up, my boys absolutely loved it, they ate all I had! Cant wait to go back, its still early in the season here so have plenty of time to get back out there if I can get away from the wood shop.

I wish everyone all the best out there!

Hello and good morning, been super busy the last couplea days turning stems and even went and bought myself a bad ass brand spanking new Honda 15hp outboard motor for my john boat. I was so excited that I was freaking speeding down the highway going 78 in a 65, trooper pulled me over and asked, "Whats the hurry?". I told him I was super stoked to get my new motor that I was just in a hurry. I apologized and he went back to his car to write me a ticket. He was back there a while, came back to the truck and said he wasnt writing me a ticket! Let me off with a warning and said to slow it down. Guess he checked my record and saw that I have not a single infraction in years. The motor is the shit, I have never had one this nice, came with a 5 year warranty and safety's so I will never burn it up. These new motors are so well built and should last a life time. Cant wait to get it on the water, gonna be able to really get out there and get the ducks and hit those far away spots for fishing. Plan on taking the boys to the river this next year for a couple days of camping and fishing on a sand bar! Should be a lota fun.

I just finished these and have em available through my site. I only had enough for 4 of them and dont figure they will last long.

Good morning, been turning solo stems last night from the Cocobolo I had gotten not long ago. I gotta say these are the finest pieces I have turned of this species. The rich colors and varying tones are something I have never seen before. There are blues, purples, pale greens and bright oranges just popping out of the wood at ya, very beautiful pieces. I had so much fun turning them that I had to show them off!

About to go put my boat and new motor in the water this morning here in an hour or two. My good friend and I are going to the reservoir to see how the motor is gonna perform and scout for ducks. Been a long time since I have been able to get in open water like this, there is 100's of acres of water there and home to many many Canadian geese and migrating ducks. Am super excited! After we run the boat for a couple hours or so we are headed to the duck lease. We are gonna give em hell this evening and bring home some birds!

I took this pic with my cell, it will give you an idea of what I was looking at, hope you all dig em!

those are fucking gorgeous, Ed!

quick question...I use my wooden stem much more than the glass ones and the tip where I place my mouth is getting a little worn, like it is not as shiny and has a little bit of roughness to it. Nothing uncomfortable, but it makes me wonder if there is some kind of maintenance I should be doing. What say you?

@stickstones as far as caring for the wooden stem, I recommend using some Bomb Ass Butter, its a mineral oil/beeswax mixture that I make myself. You simply wipe it on and wipe it off to seal and rejuvenate the wood. It really brings the luster back to a worn piece. You may already have something similar that will work just fine like zappolish. I am glad to hear you are enjoying the wooden stem over the glass! I hope you do for a long time to come.

@Aezhenn everyone needs a solo, they are really great portable units! I appreciate the kind words and if you ever decide to get one let me know and I will fix you up with a sweet stem for it!

@Breathemetal glad you will be getting a solo and am sure you will enjoy using it as do I. I thank you also for the kind words, those are what its all about! I dont have many Bog Oak left, I have a few of them in 4" and 3" shortys. Once they are gone not sure when I will have more. This stuff has gotten really expensive and harder to obtain. The Cocobolo above is the shit! I still have to install the bushings and finish them. I have some nice Cocobolo all ready done and ready to go. I suggest if you want a Bog Oak you may wanna go ahead and get it. No matter what you decide, let me know when youre ready to order and I will make sure you get the best of the bunch!

Thanks for stopping by ya'll, I hope I have been helpful!

Had a good day yesterday, my new motor performed really well, ran a couple gallons of gas through it and scouted out some really nice spots for potential duck hunts. Saw a bunch of shitty coots, they are a small black duck that doesnt taste good at all. Didnt see any quality birds, its still warm down here and the birds really havent pushed through from the north yet. We still have about 6 weeks left of season so have some time left yet. My good friend and I went to our lease for an afternoon hunt, the ducks werent as many as the last trip out there but we did nail 4 of em and I got 3 outa the 4. 2 wood ducks and 2 mergansers, the wood ducks are quality birds and taste great, the mergansers are not so much and will take an extra long time soaking in the marinate, either way I am gonna throw em on the grill and they will both be good eating! The wife and I have done all the Christmas shopping for the boys and have gotten them some really nice gifts there is just one more to get, am going to pick up a sweet off road gokart tomorrow. Its a two seater, has a 136cc engine with roll bars and knobby tires, I cant wait to see their faces, they have been wanting one for a couple of years now, so now is the time. All is well my way and I hope the same for all of you. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and many blessings in the new year!

Man i wish my dad was as cool as ed, getting his kid a go-cart, and taking them hunting, plus he makes vapor tubes! :D
My father won't even let me buy a single shot 12g for hunting, while i live under his roof.
On a different note, I haven't touched a glass stem in a long time, my solo only knows your stems now.
I used to just keep the wood stems as backup, but for the past few months, they have been my primary stems, and love them, i think one reason i like them so much is thanks to puffitup i have an unlimited supply of screens, like many bags full. Having so many screens i can easily take out a dirty/clogged screen and replace it, which improves the performance of the wood stems like 5 fold.
have a good day, and happy holidays Ed

@jambandphan03 thanks for the happy Holidaze, I only wish you and yours the same!

@thesoloman I am like most dads I guess, I only want more for my kids than I had when I was a boy. They are what its all about, them and Mrs. Ed. I am so blessed to have this successful wood business and such a wonderful community of happy customers! You all make it all worth the hard work and effort it takes to make it happen here at Ed's TnT. I am glad you are happy with your piece and hope you enjoy it for a long time to come.

Hello and good morning, I hope all is well out there and everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a really great Christmas, the wife and kids had a great time opening gifts and playing with their new toys and such. I went hunting yesterday, went to our killer spot we had been waiting a whole year on, its the spot of a lifetime, freaking mallard ducks everywhere. Its a flooded marsh in the middle of a wildlife management area, no one knew anything about it, it was all ours. So we got to the WMA at 4am, put the canoe in the creek and paddled about a mile, then had to walk in another half mile to the spot, we are so totally stoked to be there, we get to the spot and what, such a let down no water what so ever! No birds are flying, no where for em to land if they wanted too. We were so disappointed, I have never hunted a spot like that before in my life and probably will never again. Such a bummer! We werent to be let down all the way, we went to our duck lease and got 4 yesterday, so the day wasnt a total bust. Got my Cuz coming in from TX today and we are gonna give it hell, deer hunting in the mornings and duck hunting in the evenings for the next couplea three days. Really looking forward to seeing my Cuz! I have taken the week off from wood work to do all this hunting and family time. Really needed a break! Been at it for way too long, gonna get back after it next week. I have an ascent coming in the next couple of weeks, my EU guy thinks I could so something for it so am excited to see what may come about. Also gonna be trying to do something with the FW 2.0, gotta get something going in that direction. So much to do and so little time, damn I need a clone!

Check out my son, I stopped him for a sec to snap a pic, he was having a great time!

Oh, went to get the Gokart and the one we were looking at was just a little too small, had to upgrade to the larger 208cc engine and two seater! They really love this thing!

Check out my duck lease, am standing in waste deep water with brush in front and behind me, decoys are about 25 yards out in front, this is a great hole.

Hello and good morning all, hope everyone is well and had a great New Year! Had my cuz in for the holiday and hunting, we had a hella couple days duck hunting. We got 10 one day and 5 the next. It easy to see hunting pressure on ducks. We hunted the same spot two days in a row, the first day we hunted on a really ducky day, the wind was blowing and it was raining almost the whole hunt, had the birds flying low and consistently. The second day was a blue bird day with a bright shiny blue sky that evening, birds didnt fly nearly as well and think they were ready for us at the hole we were in. I did kill the biggest mallard drake I have ever shot! Check him out on the right

My kids have been having such a good time on the gokart, they have been riding it so hard that they rattled the cover off the air filter and lost the filter, had to get another one on order so the gokart was down for a couple of days and so were the youngens. Now its fixed and they are once again giving it hell! The wife and I are gonna have dinner tonight down in the big city of Jackson, MS. am taking her to a really nice place called the Iron Horse Bar and Grill, she has never been there before, its kinda like a classy upscale joint that doesnt mind dressing casual. I know I am gonna get a big ass steak and have a few beers, should be a good time!

I am back hard at it after a week off in the shop turning solo stems, gotta get a few more done before I can get to something else. Taking the last week off was well needed! I even have an ascent on the way, should be here in a week or two, my guy says they are moving so fast he is having trouble keeping them in stock, I look forward to trying a new device with so much hype.

I wish everyone the best and pls let me know if I can do anything for you!
