Discontinued The Sublimator

humm I use my other hand to hold the bong, but I may need to do some standing maneuver for safety so I can use both hands... Ive taken to taking hte heater off and then withthe same hand removing the atomizer after.

the reason my handle was spinning is uncertain. but I will describe the situation for you pak, :)

the bowl and atomizer when cold was fused together. I could not unscrew it at all. but the handle was spinning freely on it. once I heated it up and had my accident I said fuck this time to try and deal with the atomizer and bowl again. grabbed my silicone oven mits and it came apart easy this time... but there was some hard "dry" hash sitting on the top of the bolt that is the atomizer. and you could barely see through the stem. I cleaned that shit off and put it back together. been working nicely ever since. :) no loose handle any more.

The tube lube/joint grease stuff sounds handy indeed! I may need to purchase some. it's safe to use on teflon?

no idea why your sub is running at a lower voltage. :( could the power outages have had something to do with it? or maybe humidity?

I'm not sure about using it on Teflon to be honest - although I don't see why not.

However - from my understanding, people have said that the Teflon ends up expanding and makes the Atomizer difficult to separate from a GonG joint while hot? I have my Atomizer sitting in a little 18mm - 14mm expander, which is what ends up going into the female GonG on my bong - so I merely lube up that reducer.

I haven't actually seen the Teflon since the day I got the Sublimator - so I can't comment as to how effective the lube would be on it.

As far as the voltages go, I was thinking that perhaps my building is running at lower power overall or something along those lines?

My building didn't actually experience a power failure yesterday; there was a leak in the basement and the power was switched off as a safety precaution because the breaker room is down there. The power was switched back on, but I do recall someone mentioning that the hallways and stuff hadn't been restored, so from that perspective, power wasn't back 100% last night.

However, the Sublimator was sucking the usual amounts of power at its usual sweet spot from 11pm to about 3.30am when I finally decided to call it a night. It's only now, about 12 hours or so later, that I have noticed that it is drawing less power at each marking on the dial than it used to - and that the Hampton Energy meter I've been using confirms it's drawing significantly less power.

Blah.

I'd suspect the energy meter first.

I actually think I may have figured it out.

As I'd mentioned, Toronto got hit with the mother and father of all storms yesterday.

Apparently, the entire city was running at capacity for a while today whilst repairs were being done - and as a result, the overall energy supply to the city was a little less than optimal.

At least - I hope that is what caused it - because I got in a little while ago and it seems like the levels are normalling out again.

I like the way Enrico starts off by saying ,
" today is the best day of my life ..."
Every day's the best day of his life !
We see what he does on a daily basis , somewhat . ( So Jealous )

Anyhoo ,
I didn't see this question answered , so please help with my decision .

Did anyone get the $ 750 Sub Kit ?
or
Just the Adapt a Bong for $ 500 ?
The ONLY difference is that plastic tube and stand for the tube , correct ?

Ok I didn't read far enough past this post to see if it was answered but as this is the 50000th time ive heard this mentioned ill answer this for everyone from my honest point of view and opinion. I have the sublimator pre-sale edition. And yes, it is a bit overpriced for what you receive. But heres the bottom line people. I have 1000-2000 dollars worth of nice glass pieces sitting around here and there and I have tried the unit out of a few of them and ive said it once, and ill say it again to everyone who ever tries my unit. I LOVE THE HOSE. I tried the sublimator out of my Roor bong with a beautiful gear ashcatcher and I even put diffuser stones in the unit to weight it down extra and give it that extra support and I can tell you this thing still takes the cake. Do you guys honestly think that if Enrico didn't LOVE the setup hose or bong either way he wouldn't use it or promote it? Heres my recommendation. If your cheap, and want to get subnninngg ASAP, than buy the 500$ setup, but there is a chance unless you have lots of glass you wont find a setup that is OPTIMAL. and when I say optimal people let me emphasize and explain "optimal subnnin". The unit must be sturdy, very thick glass, very easy to have sit in one spot for long periods of time and if your god awful lucky your glass will hold the sublimator in place perfectly as well as hold it sturdy and reliably. I have tried various pieces and my issues have been either when its not in an ashcatcher and directly in the stem I find it very annoying to have to angle a piece. 2ndly, if it is in an ashcatcher finding a reliable catcher that can support the weight of the Apollo/atomizer as well as the atomizer being easily pullable was also a hard thing to find, I found depending on what stem the unit was in it would get stuck constantly, or altogether when the heat expanded the glass.

the sublimator is a new unit people, you have to create your own reliable setup. And ill tell you it takes time and practice to sub like a pro, and im still learning new things all the time. Enrico didn't just have the sublimator for a year, try it out, and release it. Hes been smoking this thing for YEARS and because of that your obviously gonna find out the best setup there is. I will end this on one note, my setup IS FUCKING AWESOME. I leave my unit on 12-18 hours a day in a sturdy easily portable unit that stays upright all day and the best part is, I never leave my chair. I know im rambling, but i cant help and preach the awesomeness of taking dab after dab after dab after dab after dab after dab and doing no movement other than 2 motions, pin to jug, pin to sublimator.

To simplify for others who just wanna know whether to buy the presale, id say if u don't have a lot of nice glass sitting around id probably say if ur spending 500$ might as well get the better setup, and again, i can honestly tell most of you that this setup will probably be better than whatever you can come up with unless you got some toys to work with. Ive tried the baby on some of my friends bongs and i can honestly say some setups are just WAAAAYYYYYYYY better than others and if ur spending this amount of money on something you should do it right. Again, if u have some nice glass already don't be worried but don't expect this thing to work for "optimal subnnin" on just any bong. a lot of setups tended to be much much worse than others, and ALL worse than my sublimator kit. but who knows, maybe i need to try some smaller glass pieces like ive seen other members have, but than you get into tipping issues and too heavy :( (nice glass is easily 150-300$ which is exactly how much extra the pre-sale kit is)

Pure example

Received my Sublimator this morning, perfectly packed and delivered. Thankyou so much once again to PV for all their help and the incredible delivery and order process.
Just wanted to confirm that the US version seems to work perfectly in the UK with a step-down converter. I'm seeing no heat/use issues, and the unit appears to be stable. Will let you know how it performs over the next few weeks, but fingers cross US models should be all good with the right UK/EU inverter.
Unfortunately I've not had a chance to test out the unit yet. All cleaned but no Glass in house, so having to wait another 12 hours before a spare RooR turns up. Really looking forwards to hitting this thing though, is a seriously cool design and cant wait to see if it hits as hard as the vides.

and yes. i am subbed as fuck right now.

Ok ... I've had my energy meter for a week or so (I think? really have no idea as my memory is that bad right now because I'm so busy ... but seems like it anyways) ... and here's my results:

- Favorite temperature: 24W

The interesting thing about that favorite temp is that the place on the dial to achieve 24W varies slightly ... but the density/vapor production indicates that the energy meter are more accurate than the dial position. I have even found that the temp can change slightly (+/- 2 degrees) without anyone ever touching the dial, especially through power cycles. I'm pretty sure the temperature in the environment is fairly consistent and I've also got it plugged into an APC Line-R 1200 voltage regulator so I'm also confident my voltage is consistent.

So ... if you want to accurately dial in your temp the first time every time before taking a hit ... buy the $20-$25 energy meter.

been running the Sub through water so far, and decided to dump it out and go dry tonight... now that I've grown used to the water experience I am curious to see how much different this is dry. Amazingly smooth, but I wonder how long my throat can take the dry hits over and over.

I went dry for 3 days. It wasn't too harsh for the most part. But then I had one massive hit that I felt on my tongue (the heat of the dense vapor) that water would've helped with. It made me cough a LOT.

So I'm going with water from now on. It's not always necessary, but smooths out those monster rips IMO.

I wanted to post a short video in response - merely because I'm not one to skimp on costs - and if I decide to drop $500 on something, I'd more than happily drop an additional $500 if I thought it meant 'getting it right'.

I feel my setup more than meets every stipulation of your definition of 'optimal'.

love that setup Hassan, looks nice and sturdy. i find the water really takes away from the taste of the unit. Yessir, ive posted my setup once before but ill post it once more. My unit came with one defect hence how it is taped right now, but this was just because of some stupid threading issue with one of the pieces, enrico and I have already been in contact so nothing for me to worry about, new piece will be on the way shortly, i ordered one of the first of these so its expected. here is my setup, i cant emphasize how much i love being able to see my hit everytime, being able to watch it fill up milky white everytime is wicked, im someone who enjoys seeing that huge hit fill up and get cleared, bongs are great and all but again i love watching the hit from the side view everytime and the fact the sub never has to be moved is amazing, no standing up to take a hit either. HUGE HITS out of this thing folks

For you people that want a little bit a water but don't want to kill the taste of the dry hit, you NEED the mouth Bubbler!!! Its free with any whip vape lol This is with the da buddha but you get the point. It could be done with a rig like Brayden's?

Can you get that thing with ice notches? How hard is it to keep clean? Have you tried Rezblock in it?

Is it tho?

No sir, I bought this directly from Enrico in the very first couple weeks the Sublimator was available. I purchased my unit back in late May and received it early june.

You were the guy that bought it from Fresh Headies, no?

I think that was someone else - but I may be mistaken.

I do recall the post you're remembering when asking that question - someone on here definitely made their purchase through Fresh Headies.
