Checked if the code still works out of curiosity and it doesn't...guess they are all gone. Hope everyone that wanted one got one.

so @stickstones i ended up placing two different orders, one for the unit and the 50% discount, one for accessories with the 20%. Would it be reasonable to email hermes and request a refund for the 2nd shipping cost?

I emailed them about the shipping costs for the 2nd accessories order, and Patricia told me that they would 'compensate' customers with a 'gift' but not a refund.

Good to know - thanks! I'm guessing the "gift" will be more accessories which is always nice to have. Just curious for those that ordered just accessories - was the shipping $18 as well?

Mine was in euros (then converted to pounds by paypal), but roughly the same price. There was another quicker, more expensive shipping option, but I didn't go for that and emailed Hermes asking for both my orders to be shipped together.

My accessory order consisted of extra white flexicones, small rimmed baskets, rimmed screens, and the power puck. I asked them to throw in the little glass 14mm adapter as the gift to use until I order a song from stickstones or delta3.

I also separately ordered a 14mm glass j hook and a mini bubbler:

https://www.grasscity.com/uk_en/gra...por-bubbler-with-mini-box-diffuser-white.html

I'm assuming the little concentrate glass nail in the bowl can be removed, so I'm hoping it's the right size for a flexicone/basket module to sit in the bowl, and I can just push the lidless MV onto the inverted basket (see pic 2 of Minns post below to see what I mean)

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/minivap-vaporizer.1589/page-197#post-800874

Thoughts on the bubbler I ordered? My first glass. Since the MV was so cheap, it allowed me to get some extras to fully maximize the MV's potential. I might need a bigger piece of glass in future. Is GAS a thing?

I've got GAS, everyone.

I'm late!
Anyone know if the discount code for accessories will be active today or through cyber Monday?
............................................................
I just did a trial order and two of the three codes are no-go.
Luckily, one still works for 20% off :)

MVWEEKENDSALE16

Their accessories are pretty high priced so 20% off helps.
Flexicone basket modules rule the vaping universe ;)

So I was just reading up a bit more on the differences between the glass and teflon cores and I think I may have made a teeny weeny mistake with my order. So from what I'm reading up on it seems like teflon is for more pure convection while the glass core offers a bit of a conduction experience. I ordered myself the glass quick core but now I'm thinking that I maybe should have went with the Teflon as in my experience convection is usually a little more efficient in terms of conversation of herb. Can anyone who has had experience with both be able to offer input on the efficiency of glass core vs. teflon? I wonder if I can email minivap and change my order to a teflon core?

I'm sure if you email them, they'll swap them for you. If you feel like you're missing the conduction side of things with the teflon core, you could always get the decarb ring at a later time.

That's exactly what I ended up doing! Thanks for the input. I sent an email in to minivap through the contact form on the site so now I just have to hope they see it before my order ships!

Now you're making me question my decision to get the glass come even more but I'm gonna stick with it!

Has anyone with a glass and teflon core ever tested the amount of conduction in each core by running both for the same amount of time without taking a draw and then checked how the herb came out?

Also since I got a blue limited edition glass core will I not be able to get a teflon core in the same color if I decide to get one down the line? I guess having a blue and black minivap isn't a big deal but just wondering.

In my experience, Teflon takes awhile to fully vape the buds. From what I've noticed, the BIGGEST culprit in me not getting full vape of my buds has been using a glass piece that didn't have a perfect seal. If I use a piece and my buds don't come out dark brown, I know something is wrong which has been the main culprit each time.
Without the decarb kit for the Teflon, it can take FOREVER to fully vape buds.

I just ordered the glass unit so we'll see how that works. I didn't need it now that I realize just how poor the seal is on some of my glass pieces with the delrin adapter. Not the adapter fault, just some pieces from China don't do well with the adapter, or any adapter, and only work wel with the bowl provided.

@Radiocitysuicide
At these prices, I wouldn't worry too much if you made the right choice. You all have probably paid less than half of what many people paid for their minivaps. If you still are curious, I bet the 420 sale will also be amazinig and maybe there will even be a christmas sale. I plan on getting a Teflon quickcore next year if there is a good sale. I won't be able to stop myself.

I'll let you know how I feel about the difference between the two when I get mine,

Also, that's why I got black. Besides the fact that I'm cheap, I just didn't want to deal with special edition colors not matching later. I actually wish I had gotten silver though so I could tell my cores apart easily.

Due to the fact you couldn't add accessories and still get the miniVap discount buying the limited edition which includes power adapter and battery as opposed to buying the adapter separately and paying shipping again made the price difference less drastic. I forget how much exactly but I priced black one out with the same accessories and it wasn't too much cheaper. Plus that blue looked pretty sweet I couldn't resist. I actually think blue and orange would look cool together... Mets colors! But I'm fine with having a black and blue vape eventually if I must.

Thanks for the reassurance and I look forward your comparison.

I had 0 intention of purchasing this at all at this time. I'm an extreme planner with my money, comes from working in the financial sector, but this was just too good a deal to pass up.
I wanted a color but the extra cost my financial mind couldn't justify, especially since I didn't plan on getting this now.

This is purely my hypothesis, but my guess is the glass core even if it was miniscule less efficient, it would more thoroughly vape buds.

Yea that's why I went with the glass over teflon. I'm not too picky when it comes to flavor and figured it would already be efficient enough.

And I hear you about the deal being too good to pass up. I just got an herbalizer recently so wasn't planning on dropping more money on a vape but the price was too good. I also figured at that price if for whatever reason I'm not a fan it shouldn't be too difficult to sell without too much of a loss.

If there is ever a sale again though, and it turns out I prefer using my Teflon, I'll definitely get a colored Teflon.

The BIGGEST reason I got one is I know I need a spare. I know that if this thing broke, I'd have next day ordered another one right away. That was NOT a good sign for me lol. I honestly feel bad for people when they tell me they smoke blunts every day....

I have both cores, and honestly prefer the Teflon. And yes, mostly for taste. I can expend a basket in either core, but prefer the flavor train of Teflon.

Edit: got this off of Hermes site.....

MV Glass Core (GC): you will get a strong and dense vapor, increases passive/conduction heating that improves extraction and decarboxilation. A water tool is recommended.

MV Teflon Core (TC): for a soft and subtle feeling, keeps the terpens (taste and aroma) for a long time. Optionally, the decarboxilation kit can be installed for heating effects (convection-conduction) that are similar to the use of a glass core.

I paid less than 200 EUR for a quick-core teflon portable (with the battery). I would email them and ask when their next price drop will be because you missed out on the Black Friday deal.

400 EUR for me is too steep for just the MV. It cost me considerably less than that figure for the MV, some accessories (including the power puck adapter) and two pieces of glass.

Is minivap pronounced where vap rhymes with map or is it pronounced minivapE? I feel like it's pronounced minivape but due to the spelling I'm always saying minivap (like map) in my head lol

I picked up the Teflon MiniVap in black. I ordered it before I even noticed the special editions. I emailed asking if I could pay the difference and get the blue one. They just got back to me stating the blue one is more than the black one so they won't be able to send it. I hope the communication barrier doesn't cause problems with any service or repairs in the future..

I had both as well and I totally agree. I don't miss my glass core one bit. And as far as cloud production with the teflon core, I can produce larger clouds than my lungs can handle while STILL retaining that wonderful taste. Love mah Mini.
