Yes, that bubbler in the pic has an 18 mm female joint.
The MFLB water whip ends in a 14 mm male joint.
The shorty glass piece on top of the bubbler is an 18 mm male to 14 mm female joint.

With that minor mod, the whip fits.

Where can i get that piece, you got a link?

@Mightymax ,
you're almost there with the MFLB whip. The Mighty mouthpiece is oblong and the MFLB whip tubing and glass connector are round. I just checked and removing the MFLB glass tip and the the tubing is not big enough to stretch over the Mighty mouthpiece.

So, you just need an adapter like from @Ratchett (here on FC a lot) and his Delta 3D Studios. The most basic is pictured below, a silicone adapter which has an oblong slit to connect firmly to the Mighty mouthpiece. With that, you can :
1. connect directly to a bubbler as pictured OR
2. the MFLB whip glass tip fits into the Ratchett adapter if you prefer a whip connection.
Note that you can also use the MFLB whip direct, like maybe on lower temp hits, as it has a nice wood "hand holder" and the end would then be its 14 mm male glass mouthpiece. I do that with some of my vapes.

Picture is to a hydratube. Connecting directly to a bubbler the Mighty would be inverted which is perfectly fine. Hope this helps

Hey StickyShisha you've been over on the divine tribe's atty's thread, maybe you didn't see our earlier search for a good hose/tubing material to use as a connector to glass globes for the 2.5 atomizer base? I wish you woulda saw that part and sent me here... I'm just stumbling upon this thread after searching the whole wide interwebs for info on what types of hoses are suitable for vaporizers. I seem to have found the most info right here.

My intended use is quite different from most others, not as a whip, but as a semi-rigid yet flexible joint or short connector. I love the DT 2.5 ceramic donut, but I like to connect it to a glass globe before it goes to a hose connected to an elbow then into my rig, I prefer this over connecting the hose directly to the stock mouthpiece. And glass globes and pieces that connect directly to this base are far and between.

Earlier, I was using a piece of PVC I bought from home depot to join the two

HsDiXdL.jpg

and also for smaller hand-held bubbler pieces, which are designed to fit with the smaller, ubiquitous "micro-skillet glass globe" or many other generic names.

bdKJdkt.jpgp

Everything was fine and well, and I was sharing this solution over at the divine tribe thread, until our resident forum master OF took a look and advised caution against my choice of materials over here

Not knowing much about my pvc hose, I looked it up and found it should be good to 170F, even though it is barely touching my vape or being subjected to prolonged direct contact to hot surfaces like a vaporizer whip would be. From what I'm reading here, the arizer whips are a clear pvc similar to what I'm using here? :uhh: So shouldn't that be safe?

So fast forward a bit, to an unrelated vape project, I bought the DDave Mod for my arizer extreme Q as well, and it came with some silicon hosing 1/2" ID that worked perfect for my connector piece, and I'm using that now instead.

Although for the smaller upper connections on the globe, I still have PVC. This seems to be working fine and I'm going to get around to procuring some silicon or other hose for those little parts.

However, I'm still wondered what (if any) harmful crap or off-gassing I might have been breathing by using the PVC hose for nearly 2 years. What kind of stuff might be released if it was regularly heat-soaked to a modest 80-90F, but was exposed to brief bursts of +/- 400F hot vapor repeatedly? Does anyone have any info on this or ideas on where I could look this up? I've done some searching and tried to contact USPlastics, but they don't like responding to emails about "aromatherapy" uses ;) :D

So i hve the extreme q and recently purchased a new hoze for it (silicone) ive noticed an increased smell of mj tht its giving off rather than the pcv tubing,
Even if i juat turn the vape on amd run the fan or no fan the tubing around the elbow temperature is much higher thn when i hd the pcv therefore causing a odour.

Is this normal or is it bad quality?
Please help

Hey everyone,
What would you say is better for a really good high quality whip for my Extreme Q ( with @DDave mod of course )

This one: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=31571&catid=799

OR this one : http://arizer.com/store/en/arizer-extreme-q-parts-accessories/23-hose-tubing.html also silcon from planetvape.ca ( both canadian)

The second one is the new food/medical grade silicone whip from arizer.
I read this whole thread and it seems like most people like the 1st one I linked from tygon?
Maybe @CuckFumbustion could chim in on this :)

I get mine of of Beverage parts sellers like off of Ebay. 500f temp safe foodsafe silicone tubing.
Made a 2x adapter hose. Will quote it here because it fits the thread and I would like to see someone else perhaps try this project. Expand the article to see the pics.
I would not use ISO on anything but glass. ISO will break down the hose. Which at the least will weaken it, but even worse could emit/cause other harm full results.
When any hose starts to form hairline cracks I replace it also. The 500f food safe stuff I'm getting is inexpensive, especially in bulk. Cost more to have it shipped.

As promised pics of my double walled hose. Been mentioning it in detail in the last few posts here. The second image shows the method better. :cool:Notice the center outside tube is overlapped on itself. Then look at the first image. Essentially, I slid the two other sections underneath the center section at the angle that I wanted the curve and flipped the overlap over each side section forming a knuckle. As a bonus, I'm showing you my fave scraping tool and a single section of hose unflipped in any manner.
The inside hose fits well into each glass adapter so there is a better arc, less pinching. There is a small strip on the right end I use as a seal between the adapter connections. It behaves well, with no crushing or kinking and keeps it's shape.:tup:Worth running warm a tub of warm water and some handiwork to make it happen. But I haven't had to correct my hose so far. check it out.

Money isn't an issue to me right now so I'm not surfing the net trying to find to cheapest hose possible lol :)

The whip hose project is for anybody who likes kink free silicone hose with heavy duty adapters for under two feet. Figured it would help fellow FCers.
O.K. I'll chime in a second pass.

This one: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=31571&catid=799

This one is rated at 320°F. My cheap tubing is rated at 500F. Not seeing any advantage of this tubing over what I'm getting. But I'm not familer with any brand FTM.

I would try out the silicone tubing from Arizer, but there is no specs on it. Much less a temp rating. Read on the EQ thread that it might be firmer. but IDK.

I treat silicone hose as a disposable item once hairline cracks form. I also avoid PVC or any material that isn't foodsafe and temp safe .... to a degree. :haw:
You are probably looking more for a sourced solution than a project. :bang:I understand that. Just that I found something that works really well for me that was worth sharing to the thread. Hope this post helps you find the tubing that suits you a little better. :peace:

Ok so I'm thinking of buying a medium Song from @Ratchett to use with my sticky brick and I am wondering what size tubing will fit in the Song so I can connect it to water?
Thanks

Well if you're looking to attach a whip to my NuSonG, I think you might need a MFLB size whip (although I don't know what size that is) - I tested my 3/8 ID silicon tube and found it does fit over the 14mm end of your Medium NuSonG, but it's not quite the easiest to connect (a smaller tube in the vapor path might work better)

Ok cool, thanks for the help. I saw someone in a video using a MFLB whip through the center of your Song and it fit. I am trying to attach a sticky brick to water if that helps at all lol. But I think you answered my question, I need MFLB whip size.

Does anyone know the size of MFLB whip tubing?

Cheers,
Stay vaped :peace::leaf:

............................................................

I measured my MFLB whip from my setup, pictured below:

3/16" ID, 5/16 OD so it's fairly small tubing.

Something "does not compute" for me???
All of my 14 mm songs from you are OD of about 1/2"
Isn't your tubing 3/8" ID and 1/2" OD?

My 1/2" OD tubing is all about the same size OD diameter as the Song so fitting it would be like stuffing Dolly Parton into an A cup.....

Do the newest 14 mm Songs taper to a narrower point?
What is your tubing size again, is it 3/8 ID, 1/2 OD ?

Indeed your math is correct. However you're forgetting that unlike Dolly's breasts, my silicone is extremely pliable. I didn't say it was an easy fit, but you can stuff it in there deep enough to make an air-tight seal

Do the newest 14 mm Songs taper to a narrower point?

Negative, 14mm tapered fit has remained the same. Although I am experimenting with some stiffer silicone rubber which won't flex as much - that may require me to adjust my molds (I don't know yet - still in the early early R&D stages right now).

What is your tubing size again, is it 3/8 ID, 1/2 OD ?

Yes, I currently have 3/8 ID and 1/2 OD Silicon tubing in stock.

I'm open to suggestions if you have another size you'd like to see listed on my shop

Hello folks,

I wonder, how I shall fit the Magic Flight Orbiter tubing to my Extreme Q!

I am thinking on asking my local glassblower to make a fitting elbow glass adapter, since the magic flight tubing is too georgeous not to use, but I wondered, if it maybe fits the SSV elbow glass adapter?

Also, does anyone know by chance, if there are any european knock offs of the DDave mod?

Peace! :leaf:

EDIT: I cancelled my orbiter order and ordered the DDave Kit for 70$ instead and will go with a regular bong, since the orbiter tubing's drag could be an issue plus I can avoid the circumstances of fitting it to the EQ.
Too bad though, already fell in love with the orbiter ;(

I bought the Extreme Q last week. I never have vaped before. I haven't used it yet because I wanted to switch out the PVC tubing that came with it for a silicone one. I ordered a silicone whip from the Arizer website. They describe it as "High Quality Food/Medical grade Tubing".

I finally received the silicone whip from the Arizer store. I didn't want to use it right away in case there was some toxins or chemicals from the factory. I sanitized it with very warm water (my sink water doesn't get very hot) and dishwashing soap. The dishwashing soap has a fruity smell. I put a lot of soap in there and rinsed it many times with the warm water. However, the whip still smells like fruity soap. I am obviously nervous I am going to get sick or cancer because of the possible lingering detergent and smell if I use the whip. Is it safe to use? I don't really care about the smell as long as I won't get sick! I appreciate any help!

ok, I like the direction this is headed. food-grade/medical-grade silicone tubing.
so now the question is, is there a method to mechanically clean the tubing, like
with a long rod like a knitting needle... perhaps add in some hot air from the vape/pump,
and allowing gravity to push the reclaim into a storage vessel.
When I figure out which mod-box setup I'm getting as my backup vape, I'll likely be adding
a silicone whip... and I'll make one for my Herbie Elite.
Any red flags for running up to 428F (THCv)?

Lemon juice is your friend for removing smells. Here are direction for cleaning a new or used hookah hose: I'd skip adding any detergent as you've already done that

This is also recommended before you first use a new Nammor Hookah Hose to get out any plastic “new hose” taste!

Step 1: Fill ‘er up! Remove the mouthpiece and fill the hose about halfway up with water from a tap. You can also pour in the water from a pitcher or use purified bottled water if you so desire.

washblog01-small.jpg

Step 2: Lemon Juice is your friend! We’ve found that a squeeze of lemon juice mixed with the water is great for neutralizing any odors, as well as giving off a “fresh” scent to your hose. We’ve also heard a pinch of baking soda helps as well. You can also add a squeeze of natural cleaning solution such as Bling!

washblog02.jpg

washblog03-small.jpg

Step 3: Swish! You’re going to want to swish around the water/lemon juice mixture, much like your dentist makes you swish fluoride. Plug up the ends of the hose with your thumbs to prevent spillage, and do this for at a good solid minute at least. Pour the water back into the sink and repeat this step as many times as necessary, depending on how dirty the hose is.

hopefully this will get rid of smell

I will try that for the smell. I am definitely more concerned about the safety of using the dishwashing soap with the tubing. As said, I am new to all this, so maybe it wasn't a risk to begin with? Am I worrying over nothing? I just want to be safe and healthy (which is why I chose a vaporizer to replace a bong in the first place).

Lemon juice gets rid of the smell by getting rid of any substances on the tubing so it should remove any lingering detergent.

If I order a new whip (silicone food/medical safe) how do I sanitize it safely this time for first time use? Could I just boil it? How come no one ever mentioned that when it sounds like the easiest method for sanitization? I should have never used soap and water. Now I guess I will wait another week for it to arrive *cries*

If it's packaged properly, it should be labeled sterile to begin with. Do NOT boil silicone tubing... and from what I've read, if you use a steam cleaner to clean the tubing it will start to break down quickly.

anyone have experience with using a silicon whip on a DT 2.5 donut/mouthpiece?

what inner diameter should I shoot for? Think the arizer hose would work? (5/16ths)
