@CuckFumbustion I assume that any nasties we are filtering out end up in with the vape poo. That is why I choose to throw it away. Everything else gets recycled and used so I'm happy to lose that little bit in the name of health/safety.

I agree with your EQ motto. Heat soaking must be done for proper and repeatable results.

I may have to find some glass tube to sleeve over my dddave wand. The insulated wand sounds awesome to me.

I have ordered some 18mm basket screens from Alan the maker of the HI. Less metal mass to heat and adjustable bowl size  I'll report back when I get them.

Might have to get a claisen soon so I can hit my solo on 7 and EQ at 235c with an oil sandwich. Instant vapor from the solo that would start to thin just as the EQ would be coming on song. Sorta like a twin charged motor (supercharger and turbo combo) :science: :freak: :rip:

Good luck find one where you're at. Bought everything off of Ebay US. But, I'm sure there is at least a scientific glass or chinese glass seller. The exact one I got was a really tight fit with the @DDave wand. Broke it trying to take it out. But loose for my 19mm adapter? Hunh? :hmm:

I really like having the thick lipped female socket on top. Hope you find exactly what I got.:tup:I'm now convinced it is better than having a thick wand to work with. You have the advantage of heating a smaller piece plus the heat from the outer wall.

You might like my arc adapter hose too, once I post it. (Sorry Technical issues. But I did take pics). I found a 500F food safe hose that can be telescoped with effort and warm water over the other 500f food safe hose. Usually beverage suppliers carry them. If you are up for that project.

The 1/2' hose is great for adapters for my portables. Even my finicky Summit with it's angular shaped mouthpiece.

There is a new claisen thread here at FC. If you are curious.:peace:

Hey, in a few days I am getting some moneys. I guess I'll start with a D020-D and the dual DDave kit.

Do I need anything, to hook those up with a stock EQ? I cannot tell what kind of adapters the D020-D has (except for the 18.8mm joint of course). Though, I suppose I could use both whip+baloon elbows connected together to hook a stock EQ up with the D020-D. Though, would the long air path not be too long?

I guess I am supposed to order the D020-D from Sunshinestore.

Hello @AntiGravity and welcome to the thread.

Not up to speed on the latest part list of the dual @DDave kit, But I'm sure there is enough pieces, just not sure what is best for the male connection going into the D020-D atm. He was working on a whip solution last I read. Oh here it is from ebay US . (Plus the thumbnail below)
And a whip adapter for the 14mm too?. The AntiFlex tubing to prevent kinky hose. Sure he has refined the kit even more. You can even get on the @DDave mod thread or contact him here at FC. I have links in my sig.
s-l64.jpg

These two parts are new to me. I presume you mean 18mm and 14mm as dual. He was able to source basket screens for the 14mm wand. That still seems a cool feat to me.
  • NEW: 6" of AntiFlex Collar Tubing (enough to make 3 collars)
  • Both 14mm and 18mm Water Tool Whip Adapters
Sunshine has made more pieces for FCers anyway. Perhaps leave a post on the cheap bubbler thread?

I don't know that you're supposed to order the DO20-D: any bubbler will work. I have the newest Dave kit and it came with adapters that work with the 18.8 and the 14.4 joints and whips. Not sure what the Double kit is but the kit comes with everything you need to use with water. I've ended up using the whip from the UFO and Dave's 14.4 adapter. The EQ has become my favorite vape.

I have a Q I just pulled out today.

Put a female 18mm to male 18mm in this case then I use the wax holders of the EVO and presto.

I will use a HYDROTUBE latter with some COLAS I have.

For the $ the Q can work well if you can be creative with mods.

@DDave got me thinking?

@little maggie the UFO is a good one!

Is there anywhere brick and mortar to buy silicon tubing of high enough grade for vaporizer usage? I have used the PVC stuff from Home Depot, which I don't find so dangerous or bad personally but is still highly inflexible and thus far from ideally functional. I know that I can order from 7th floor or another site but I'm really bad at waiting for shit and due to the inability of the USPS to be a funcitonal organization I would much rather buy in store.

Also, this is probably obvious, but don't try to use Hookah hoses....perhaps some heavier duty stuff could work but it resulted in melted plastic everywhere for me...

Dam that sucks, so all I can scrape out with it 1 ft screw driver is all I can collect. Oh well. One last flush before I throw out the old pvc whip, or just slice it and scoop out?
Going to get more painful with the silicone ones, 10 bucks plus 15 bucks shipping... I grabbed 2 to start....

I've cleaned Silicon whips with ISO and continued to use them without adverse health effects or a degrade in favor. But everyone seems so adamant on this that I guess I'm kind of a dumbass? Not sure really.

I could be wrong, cause I'm not like, super-knowledgeable-vape-guy, but I still haven't seen another vape I'd consider a better introductory desktop. It gives you a good idea of the different aspects of vaping, I feel like.
It certainly has helped me. My first experience with stepping up the temps from 185 to 220 at 4 degrees at a time with my cyclone bowl got me to understand the range of vapor that is achievable. An 18mm connection with fan options and a digital display. There may be a few vapes with less of a learning curve for those who are entirely uninitiated. Like say the SSV/Da Budda. But as you say, the EQ 'gives you a good idea of the different aspects of vaping.'
Finally found silicon whips up here to fit my eq... you can clean silicon with iso right?

Not advisable. The iso will degrade the silicone pretty quickly. You're better off to just replace it with a fresh piece of silicon tubing. :2c:

:peace:
ISO might be even unsafe, or so I read for silicone hose. There are a few methods for getting reclaim from the hose before throwing it away, including one method using a rolling pin. :hmm: I have pushed a smaller diameter wand through and squeegeed the inside before. Then rinse with warm water. But if the hose forms cracks, consider replacing it.

I get my 500f food safe silicone hose from ebay. 2 different sizes for my projects. Usually from a beverage distributor. Some home brewer stores might be able to help you out.

Will upload my double walled silcone adapter hose in another post. With my new EQ setup. :peace:

I doubt it's an issue with non plastic/pvc type shit. It's why I just spent good money to buy 2 more.... prob should get more....
Actually pvc emits toxins when heated... no one should be using it.... guess I shouldn't get so up there about using iso to clean silicon... I'm going to assume it's fairly safe vs pvc....

I would not use ISO on anything but glass. ISO will break down the hose. Which at the least will weaken it, but even worse could emit/cause other harm full results.
When any hose starts to form hairline cracks I replace it also. The 500f food safe stuff I'm getting is inexpensive, especially in bulk. Cost more to have it shipped.

As promised pics of my double walled hose. Been mentioning it in detail in the last few posts here. The second image shows the method better. :cool:Notice the center outside tube is overlapped on itself. Then look at the first image. Essentially, I slid the two other sections underneath the center section at the angle that I wanted the curve and flipped the overlap over each side section forming a knuckle. As a bonus, I'm showing you my fave scraping tool and a single section of hose unflipped in any manner.
The inside hose fits well into each glass adapter so there is a better arc, less pinching. There is a small strip on the right end I use as a seal between the adapter connections. It behaves well, with no crushing or kinking and keeps it's shape.:tup:Worth running warm a tub of warm water and some handiwork to make it happen. But I haven't had to correct my hose so far.

Ah crap, it's just there's so much buildup, and I can only reach so much of it... oh well, guess 10 buck a hose per 2 months is okay. 60 a year just for hoses arg, and I'm on a fixed income.... oh well.

Use the rolling pin method? There is other reclaim methods, if it is still fairly new hose. But if it is worn, just as well. 2 months sounds like a good 'oil change' plan. If you definitely plan on throwing out the hose. Perhaps cut it in smaller sections and scrape just before tossing and you don't have to use one of the other clever methods I was mentioning.

I do have a screen between my wand and hose to catch the larger particles. Less kink in my setup (or so I intended. give it a look above.) so less drag along the corners. Less to reclaim. But in your 2 months, it might pay for itself. With less effort to get at it. I might just subscribe to your plan.:hmm:

Yeah, with my 1ft screwdriver that I can pull about 1.5ft of the hose down on, I've scraped up a nice collection of oil. Haven't tried any yet. Only been a few months of collecting. The rest of my hose is full of stuff... I mainly vape butter hash and oil so.... I will want the rest of it when I have to change the hose....

The straight 'blade' on my scraper tool in the pic above works great. It is a squared edge to it, instead of a blade. And it squeegees the hose and my straight glass wands in seconds, instead of puttering. Had no idea it would work so well when I got it home. Works like a sideways paint scraper-squeegee. Then I scrape the blade on an EQ basket screen or something. Others get more elaborate with the collection.

I have used the rolling pin method & pulling a screw on a piece of string through the whip. They both work although not as well as complete replacement. Also consider adding 6" of whip when you cut it initially so that way you can cut the first 3-4" from the end closest to the EQ & another 2" to the whip/water end.

Maybe I was a naughty boy but I found pushing an Iso soaked cotton ball through my whip with a chopstick to be a pretty good final clean after the initial scraping. Flush with warm water afterwards & you will get plenty of life out of your whips. I am not suggesting anyone do it but I did & it worked for me, YMMV & you may die as a result but god help us all with the "lethal" EQ airpath coming into play :uhoh: :2c: :peace:

Can't blame anybody for wanting to conserve. I could take apart my adapter hose and scrape with my tool and put it back together a few times before the hose itself breaks down over time. The hose forming cracks being my concern. Then any ISO would have more of an impact.
My new thing is to downgrade my used but not fully worn EQ hose for my portables, which require less length and reason for airtight restriction.

Also $10 per hose should be for a 3' hose that will make two whips so that is only $30PA or under $0.10 per day. That is less than feeding a starving child in Africa through World Vision you know.

Fuck! I meant to add that is a very sweet looking setup @CuckFumbustion. You know how I feel about users posting their setups! Deceptively simple yet I can see the work & thought that went into your design. It appears the only thing missing is having some form of carb.

Was awaiting for your reaction.

Going for more of an airtight setup, But I have a Claisen adapter and a plug for carbing out. Plus a stopper plug If I want to go back to a sealed vape chamber and keep the Claisen in the "Q". The carb works best directly above the water piece while the adapter hose is attached to the curved section. Also, Fun to watch.
As it is now. I can take the mouthpiece off my "Q" water tool and attach my 18mm bag. Run the fan. Water tooled vapor in a bag.:rockon:Great for squeezing out the last bit of fumes from every elbow pack.

I have to agree. @Stevenski The double walled hose is deceptively simple. It made me feel a little simple after a while. :haw: Yes, I put a lot of fore though as to how to get it to behave and how to stretch and form it. For reasons that physics teachers can explain better than I can, I had to use warm water under a spigot and a full tub to telescope the larger hose over the smaller hose. Which is why I went with the shorter center hose and knuckle method. To avoid that dead end. :bang: I would push the center hose over the main inside hose as far as I could with warm water running over it.
Then cut it at the length it is allowed and slide it to the center of the main inside hose. The rest was easier in comparison. Slide the other two sections with one corner being overlapped where I would want the arc to form. Then flip back the foldovers on the center piece. But was well worth the effort.:science:
I'd like someone else try something like this and post it.
