Just a heads up this site has the Alternate with v3 top cap and full warranty for $59. I emailed them asking if they were authorized resellers and they said yes and that the unit includes v1 mouthpiece and v3 separate. Trying to get one of my buddies who smokes and has never vaped to buy one.

Heaven_Gifts told me they are an authorised @Vivant dealer.

Maybe Heaven Gifts is authorized to warranty their products but you might have to send it to China. I would check with Vivant about that.

My Unit has also start to show cracks(crack line which seems to changing into a crack), around those screw things around the oven.

sad, feel like am very close to regret in buying this ....

Any solution for it ??? Will buying a glue gun and gluing it will work ??
Would "M-Seal" work ?
its a Multipurpose Sealant use for sealing, joining ...

I am not sure that glue could be safe, my two alternates have small cracks near the upper screws, but it doesn't seem a structural problem, it works fine with the cracks.

Well , thats why am here ,, to discuss.. Why it should;t be safe , as crack(crackline) happened is above battery, and since am using Delta 3D Studio Wpa unit as direct Mouthpiece it doest even make contact anywhere but is in Open.

Since that part is always touchable with bare hands even at 220 C. glue should't melt or reform at 220 C

AM no Expert so Asking help, But I dont want this device suddenly die on me ,, i have no back up

Has some one dismantle this vaporizer, i want to look around that crack part

That link on Puff it up showing the Alternate all opened up is legit! Good to know what is underneath the hood!

Based on the looks of how the piece above the battery that many users are experiencing cracks, it seems like Vivant could just offer little rescue packs that come with a replacement piece and a small tool for screwing and unscrewing the tiny screws. That way users don't have to send their entire Alternate unit back to Vivant when in reality all that needs to be done is replace that one piece???

I'm sure that type of screw has a legit name, just don't know what it is.

In no way am I condoning that it is okay that they are putting a product out into the vape market that cracks from heat under normal use. Just seems like they might be creating more work for both parties.

Thinking about getting a Boundless vape of some kind for my next vape as I think they might be more durable overall and after the Alternate being my first portable vape, I realize durability is key because that means less warranties, etc

yeah that pretty Cool idea. seller can just send that small piece and we car unscrew with some universal available screw driver...

But how is Gluing|adhesive or sealing product to hold it together :D

I don't think glue would even be very effective at holding together the plastic that is cracking.

And the Vivant gets REALLY hot when you run high temp bowls through it. Hot enough to make glue release fumes? Maybe, maybe not...I wouldn't risk it.

This forum may seem kinda wimpy or OCD about materials sometimes, but most of us are vaporizing because it is way, way healthier for you than smoking. So introducing glue into our vaporizer housing near the mouthpiece assembly just sounds yucky :shrug:

Just ordered my Alternate for $60 off Vaporrange. Most of the reviews I've read have talked about how the feeling of the plastic is a bit cheap, so I'm thinking about tearing it down and repainting it with Plastidip or something, I hope that won't cause a problem for heat retention/dissipation though.

Also, what WPA are people using? Would one that fits on a crafty/mighty (the one you screw on, not put on the mouthpiece) work?

Plastidip cannot handle temps over 200f...you will definitely have off gassing and fumes I know the outside of the vape doesn't get that hott..but in my opinion..I'd steer clear of that maybe @Ratchett can come up with a protective sleeve for this or something along those lines. I would stay away from any adhesive or spray on protectant

Now I have a problem with the new V3 top caps. They were very tight fitting at first. I took them apart to check out how to clean it, but after reassembling them they don't seem to seal well. The vape heats up but I get no vapor through the mouthpiece. So I compared it to an older version top cap and that one worked just fine.

Also, the underside of the new top cap now appears to be buckling, like ripples in the plastic. Can you say "deja vu"?

All right @Vivant, what now?

EDIT: After watching Vivant's video on YouTube about reassembling the top cap, it looks like I May have gotten something out of alignment. Will check it out again tomw.

I just took the piece of clear rubber/silicone out of my V3 top cap to get a good vapor path.

My first alternate cracked after 3 weeks and they gave me a new one. After 5 weeks with my new warrantied Alternate, the piece above the battery where the top cap locks in is now developing heat/pressure cracks. I just can't get on board with a product that is going to fall apart so quickly after NORMAL use! When it works it works tho...

Will Vivant just keep warrantying these units or could someone just send me a spare piece so that I can replace it myself? I need this fixed, but feel like it is a bit overkill to send the device all the way back to California just for a small piece replacement.

Mine just came in from vaporrange. I think they provided a v1 and v2 cap, as there isnt that large metal piece on the inside of the mouthpiece.

That's dodgy after what we were told here.

That sounds like Heaven_Gifts. They told me they are an authorised Vivant dealer and that they were sending units with the V3 mouthpieces when they didn't.

@Vivant is there anything you can do about these companies claiming they are official Vivant dealers and claiming to have products they don't? This is harming your brand and really annoying your customers.

We ended up being stuck with a V1 Alternate and our only option was to spend $45US postage alone for a V3 mouthpiece from Vivant.
