I'm still using the crafty CU.... daily use and couldn't be happier. That being said..... woukd love to hear more reviews of this V3 cap..... so far sounds like it's really good.
Will be interesting to see if @Vivant will expand on improvements for the Alternate.
Aluminum shell? or thicker plastic.
My mate bought one from Heaven_Gifts when he saw how well mine worked with the WPA so he is screwed. Heaven_Gifts said the vape comes with the new top caps but it didn't. When he contacted them they said they would send him the V3 top caps if he bought a whole new Alternate from them. I told him to throw it away.
@Vivant is there plans for a V2 Alternate? djchexxx's suggestions would be great and solve a lot of problems.
That would be great if they would do that. Let us know what they say.
can someone show a pic of where these cracks are..... I have three of these units and use the crafty CU and haven't had any issue.... and these are from both vivant and heaven gifts
Thanks
Damn. Mine has the same cracks. They were so thin at first I thought I had just somehow scratched it on something but now you can clearly see it is cracked and getting worse. Really stinks as this is my favorite device currently but I won't be buying another until they release 2.0 or something. Hopefuly S&B eventually releases a swappable battery portable.
+1 for another cracked heating unit. My Alternate cracked in the same place everyone else's has. Seems this is a widespread issue.
NP. Same, its not happening to mine either but then again its not my all day every day vape. But I definitely use it a good amount.
I feel like they should have stress tested their devices or sent some prototypes out to the vape community to find these flaws. Maybe they did do these things.

If the v3 top caps hold up, i hope they start using the new plastic material from the v3 topcap in the bodies for new alternates and slowly phase out the old plastic they were using. The old plastic obviously doesn't stand up to everyday heavy use. I think thats the least Vivant can do if they decide that they dont want to make a new version.
It sucks because I think this is a great beginner vape that rivals with boundless cf/cfx/cfv but I feel like they rushed it to market too quickly. I feel like they should have stress tested their devices or sent some prototypes out to the vape community to find these flaws. Maybe they did do these things. I really think they could have made a bigger splash in the community if the top caps didn't have issues in the beginning. It's unfortunate but at least they have excellent customer service.
They did do those things.. if you see any reviews or videos of the alternate with purple top cap and orange stem.. thats beta units.. the ones they sent out to get real world results..
But it looks like they might have changed plastics after the testing, when they started productiin units... thus invalidating a lot of the testing they did..
And yes, i think youre correct. They could have made a bigger splash.. but.. well, you know..
Guys who were using v3 cap , are they only one having crack on unit (obiviously not counting those who dropped there piece)
am using dellta 3d v3, wish i it taste like glass or something but this does not bring much stress in alternate's locking system.
I dont have the V3 cap.....the crack that appeared on my Alternate is probably caused by the heat of the battery? I dont know if those cracks affect the unit performance tho...
Hey @mash , sorry for the delay, I have emailed you back , please check your inbox, thank you!
As far as I know, from the cases reported of the body unit surface cracking, they appear to be cosmetic and does not effect performance or functionality of the device itself as it is away from the air path. The part that we see is cracking seems to all be on top of the battery. We will definitely keep you guys updated as to if we find out more about it.
Thank you,
Ivan
