I ended up buying a V3 mouthpiece for $12US all up including shipping from Heaven Gifts. To buy one from you would have cost $42US in shipping alone.

Vaporrange is apparently a certified retailer yet I still didn't get a v3 cap with my order. Do I have to purchase one separately now?

Anyone know why PuffItUp.com pulled out from selling the Alternate?
I can't really be mad at them, they probably have no idea about the difference between the caps, and just assumed the caps they had were the latest.That sucks. Here was the message I sent to and received from them.

No, send them an email and let them know you need a V3 top cap. I did this and they sent mine out right away.

Vapor Range is our Authorized Reseller. They do not have the new V3 top caps yet. Our manufacturer in China has been delayed in producing the full amount of top caps required for each Alternate out there. Therefore, the first couple shipments we got of the V3 Top Caps were issued to the customer directly as priority. We are now almost caught up with V3 replacements and upon our next delivery of top caps next week, we will have them issued to Vapor Range.
In the meantime, we will go ahead and make ourselves available to help all customers who purchased from an authorized re-seller of ours and who received an older/previous version. Please be advised that we may ask for proof of purchase or an order receipt/confirmation.

Rest assured we are running more and more tests before and after product release dates to ensure we have consistent quality throughout the whole manufacturing process.

We are sorry to hear we could not help you in those regards. Since we were unable to obtain an address to quote you the shipping rate, we had to quote based off a public facility in your area. Unfortunately, we cannot control the shipping rates as this is issued to us by each shipping carrier directly. However, we do hear that shipping charges can be cheaper from China depending on the destination country.

Well my replacement Alternate that I've used less than 15 times has now developed cracks in the same spot as my old one. I've used only the official v3 mouthpiece and been EXTREMELY careful. This is ridiculous.

At what temps you vape at? I'm just asking as a preventative measure. I don't understand what's wrong with the Alternate, your unit is like new.

Has anyone had these micro cracks actually affect performance, or is it all basically cosmetic. If it is there is still no excuse for it to be happening, but I'd be a lot less worried if it were.

Seems to just be cosmetic. Someone else reported it affected air flow but I haven't experienced that yet on either unit.

Cosmetic or not, that's a piece on the device where u don't want users to have to replace so soon.

My V2 cooling unit is doing a good job and it did not crack even though it still gets really hot sometimes.
And I also adapted the Crafty cooling unit.
I'd like to try this new V3 CU but I don't know if it would be better to buy the glass mouthpiece for the Crafty unit... They say glass improves flavor and quality a lot.
What would you recommend?

Would the crafty top be better for the vivant than its current v3 top?
Do they now have a capsule system like S&B?
Will the ez-load bowl mod for the CF/CFX work on the vivant?
Sorry about all these questions. I'm planning on either getting the alternate or a firewood 4/5, so I need a few questions answered. I'm currently leaning towards the firewood but if you guys can convince me to get the alternate then I'll buy it.

I prefer the v3 cap since it matches and you don't have to modify anything. As long as it doesn't crack I'd recommend that.
I doubt it but the Alternate comes with its own loading tool that works really well.

not even close get the Firewood 4/5 and never look back.
I would get the Alternate if you don't want to worry about technique, or if you're ever going to use it in groups. I loved my firewood but it was impossible to try to teach people how to use it.

Somebody made a mod mouthpiece with glass for their alternate. Might be posted in this thread several pages in. If you do some searching you might be able to find it.
How so? I would think that the Firewood 4 is pretty foolproof with technique, long slow draw like most other vapes.
Can you rip on the alternate though?
