Im a high temp one hitter kind of guy :) Sitting at about 3.15pm. This is mainly for instant no hassle satisfaction. Coming form a raging bong habit. Ill bump it up for concentrates. Bump it down for sipping and flavour. I do also like the method you described, start low and increase temp as you go and truly maximise that load. That approach always gets me into the sky.

I love that about vaping you can play with your speed and alternate your technique. Bongs just get stale! haha

Very true, its great to have different techniques to vap. Someone called what I said vaporstepping in the solo thread. Its just weird because I will now have like 1/4 an elb and actually get uncomfortably high. Last night I did two 1/4's and felt like my whole body was tingling

After having my EVO for a while now, I noticed that I enjoy using the easy load bowl more than the xnail for bubble hash. The xnail leaves a dark brown/black smudge after use. Any bubble hash users experience the same thing?

You will get more input if you post this in the EVO thread. I believe it has been mentioned the VXN performs better with concentrates with less plant matter than bubble hash.

Hey, long time lurker here posting ting for the first time here. I was trying to source the ceramic heating element used in the Cloud but I'm having an extremely hard time. This is the closest one I have found. What do you guys think?

I don't see anything?

I don't know much about it, but I think that heater might be way too powerful?
It says 1,000W there, I thought the super beefed up EVO heater was 500W?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Also, that's a 220V heater, so it wouldn't work with the 110V US power grid, or a US cloud.
It might work for an intl cloud though...

EDIT:
The ID of the heater is 17mm.
Given the bamboo is attached to an 18.8mm joint, I'd assume the bamboo is about 19mm OD - so that heater would be too small I think...

I'll be damned if that isn't a dead ringer for the Cloud's heater.
I couldn't ever find anything close.
I don't have a Cloud heater on hand any longer to check (except the working one in new Cloud+ lol),
but even the dimensions sound about right.

But, it's 1000w at 220v so 500w at 110v and that is way, way too hot for the application.
I think the Cloud is about 80 watts and you could probably pushed that up to 125w or so.
They would probably make one to your power specs, though.

@lazylathe is a dude who has lots of experience with the internals of the Cloud.

Good point.
Remember though that the bamboo isn't as large in diameter as the joint.
I just measured the bottom of my Cloud's bamboo and it's around 16mm.

Almost there...
Any idea to built a DIY VXN for my cloud+.....?

Thinner test tube that will slide into the bamboo?
Or ask a glass blower to make one up for you.
Simple round bottom with a slit and a ring at the top.
I am sure someone will have measurements?

All my days in a daze...
So, after spending a little bit of time with my new 'old' Cloud+, I've come to a few conclusions.

First, I love this damn thing. I missed the Cloud badly. After having two FakeXhales die on me, and no EVO international availability, I was stuck Cloudless. I bought an E-Nano, which I sill love, but it doesn't quite do it for me like the Cloud. I use the Nano now for small pieces that the Cloud is too bulky for, and for oil on stainless wool where the Nano really shines.
But the Cloud just kills it on big hitting for flowers.

So, when I saw Australian Vaporizers had listed Cloud+ again, with HT only, presumably to move thier stock of old HTs before all the new stuff comes along, I bit the bullet and paid $585AU for the package with the VXL Hydracirc 2.0.

It was a hard decision to make. First, it felt strange to spend that much on an item which already has the next gen replacement out (just not avail here yet), and to spend that much on an item I bought a couple of for much cheaper and they died on me. Also, I was forced to spend the extra $185 for a HT package when I never wanted a HT (never had one) and have plenty of great glass.

But, well, it's a Cloud. And I wanted another one. Now.

So, a few differences between this unit and my FakeXhales. I dont still have them so can only operate on memory but visually the only difference seems to be the knob on this model is black with a white line and I think the knobs on the fakexhales were silver?

This unit runs noticeably cooler than the others. At first I was quite annoyed by that. I like a dark coffee ABV. This unit, on max, gives me a dark caramel colour, one that most here would probably be satisfied with, but I like it dark :D But that's with the unit on max. Which is where it has to stay when I use it.

But, then I realised and discovered one reason it runs 'cooler', this model has noticeablely less resistance than the Fakexhale models. It runs almost free flow. Remarkably low drag. I thought maybe less restrictions in the bamboo but as I was looking at it I realized it's not less restrictions, but the holes in the restrictions are larger. A good amount larger. Hence the air slows down less and heats less.
BUT, I've come to love the lower resistance and come to be satisfied with the roast level (albiet with the unit on MAX). Plus I use the ABV anyway so the remaining actives don't go to waste. :)

So, I'm not sure what that means. If this is from a batch/design earlier than the Fakexhale models, or what?
I don't know. Build quality wise the halves were aligned and the bamboo seems more stable and solid in it's position than it did on the Fakexhales.

And that HT I didn't want but had to buy? I'm currently using nothing but it. lol. I love it.
It's a low drag piece, and filling it with warm water just above the circ, and using this low drag Cloud is like heaven. Virtually just like taking a normal deep warm damp breath, this one just happens to bring a LOT of vapour with it.

And I do use it for oil, also. Just roll a bit in flowers and put it between flowers in the ELB and damn it's got me spewing shit on the message board. :D
So it must be working very well. lol.

Very, very happy with the purchase. Especially since, as I noted earlier in the thread, Australian Vaporizers, a highly reputable company, are themselves giving a 1yr warranty on the units, and will replace a faulty unit with another Cloud+ if they have one, or credit the purchase price (minus the HT of course).
That gives me MORE piece of mind than an official VXL warranty would, no offence to anyone.

I just noticed though that they no longer have any in stock.
Anyone else here one of the other buyers? :)

Cloud whip hits. Why not? Not too bad. Need to go lower on temp. First go was at 12. Trying 9 or 10 in the AM.

Man I need my Cloud+ fixed. I miss it...

Just need to secure the heater wires back down. Unfortunately I don't have the time or skills to do so.

Anyone in the UK repaired theirs who wants to have a go at repairing mine?

Hi :) i buy this cloud 1 year ago from here http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vxc-cloud-brand-new-condition-sold.11235/ .Thats was my first cloud so no comparaison possible for me.Its seems to work fine for me but i was checking the forum for buying an evo and i come accross the thread about the faxexhale thread and i start to have doubt about the authenticity of my cloud...The weird thing about it is that the bottom doesnt fit very well(Seller of the cloud doesnt include pic of the bottom ) so there some picture of it :

A few things, there have been a decent amount of crooked clouds straight from VXH. You can easily fix it by carefully loosening and tightening the allen screws until it is better aligned. Alot more info in this thread.

Second thing, im not convinced the "fakexhale" are anything other than real vapexhales offered by the rouge manufacture. I would gladly put my "fakexhale" against any real cloud+. I have taken mine apart and dont see how there is anything fake about it. It works incredibly well

Shrike had a good suggestion. Please report back your findings. Since it was a warranty replacement its sounding even more likely to be real since if memory serves me right the crooked clouds were warranty replacements

About 5 weeks ago I purchased an OG Cloud from Shrike. He is the perfect seller. The Cloud functions perfectly. I am a happy vaper.

After converting to vaping in March of '13 and reducing my consumption from smoking an 1/8 a day to vaping an 1/8 week I worked on a farm for almost 2 months leading up to and through harvest last year. Living out in the boonies, often for 2-3 days without seeing anyone, I developed a joint smoking habit, up to an ounce a day, as I had unlimited access.

When I came home I found myself rolling 2-3 gram joints for the morning dog walk and going from there. I still used my DBV, and occasionally my Solo, but soon I bought a bong, and my 1.5z/wk consumption was driving my tolerance up and the DBV wasn't keeping up. I then decided I was either getting the Sub or the EVO, leaning toward the Sub, but fortunately for me, Shrike decided to sell his precious ticker.

Fast forward to today. I pushed my DBV to the limit this last month to try to keep up with the Cloud. Using a fully to the top packed upright bowl on full blast I could get one, sometimes 2 hits that were comparable to the Cloud, but it was a balancing act to avoid combustion. In addition my custom of not stirring, but just dumping the top of the bowl off as vaped twice per bowl, GREATLY decreases the frequency of screen changes, but also can decrease the size of subsequent hits.

Bottom line, the Cloud rules if you are looking for a heavy hitter. I haven't even pushed this Cloud. I fill the ELB to just below the cap and rip. 3 massive hits, and a wispy one and done. At noon, there is no risk of combustion and the harder and longer I hit it, the bigger the hit I get. Putting the ELB's in and out all time, the auto shutoff, and heat (fan or need a towel or something) are mildy annoying, but the stellar performance outweighs the cons.

I still use my Solo and my Pax occasionally in the morning, and my DBV often throughout the day as I don't always require the power of the Cloud in the day, but it almost always comes out at night. The bong, which I often used late night has been mostly supplanted by the Cloud.

The Cloud if freaking awesome!
