In search of the best terps and smoothest vapor
Cheers man. My problem is how do I hook it up to a waterpipe? The SSV has no adapters here in Australia. What about the LSV? How does it hook up and how do I get what I need to do so here?
I wish I could just get the EVO but AGAIN - not available here!
It seems the only 1 I can hook up straight away with no attachments from overseas is the Plenty - which seems great as well - but a little "all or nothing" - less versatile
You can get 14mm and 18 mm gong attachments for the LSV straight from 7th floor and most of the LSV sellers. People also make certain 18 mm to 18mm gongs work to connect the LSV.

OK now I'm puzzled - "Australian vaporizers" say they offer a 1 year warranty...

I inquired about this. Australian Vaporizers are offering their own 1 year warranty.
If the Cloud+ fails within this period, and they still have a Cloud+ to replace it with, they will do so.
If not they will credit you in store credit what you paid for the Cloud+.

The LSV has water pipe adapters (WPA) in 14mm and 18mm that act as a bowl piece. Just place the LSV on the adapter and hit it. You need to educate yourself on them to ensure you're making the right decision. Watch some videos, read the thread and familiarize yourself with the the accessories on their website.

I don't know where you're trying to buy a Cloud from but VapeXhale offers shipping to Australia, I just checked... and I'm like 99% sure there's Aussie users on the forum.

That sounds like a good deal!

But can I get them here or do I have to have them shipped from overseas?

That sounds alright. I guess if it's no good or - I didn't dig it! - I could get a different vape at no cost - any idea how long they would take to send a replacement/store credit? Straight away?

I guess all the reports of breakdowns put me off - plus the "vapecritic" prefers other vapes (Plenty,SSV) and he seems like a pretty unbiased and smart reviewer compared to most others.

The breakdowns are a serious problem that I feel has been understated on these forums. VapeXHale has been shipping out products with huge hype attached to them thanks partly to this forum. Then when people's clouds break they often ignore their own warranty and just offer for the buyer to pay US$250 more for a new EVO. (which has only minor improvements over the cloud/+ and a few users even prefer their clouds over the EVO) It would be nice to see some of the mods here support the consumer more on this issue.

However, VapeXHale has put out a really good vaporizer given the current market, which is apparently still in its infancy in some ways. For example, the quality control on this stuff is not great yet. (We recently discovered that most of the clouds/EVOs emit fumes when used upside down for too long, for example.) But I think you'd be happy with a cloud+. I am, although I got one at a discount and wouldn't have been able to afford their retail price.

What this all means is that the one year warranty that you can get from your LHS is an especially good warranty. You'll have the best vape of your list of options, (IMHO) but with the security of a real warranty. (assuming you can trust your LHS) If cost is a major concern for you then you might also want to check out the classifieds here on FC.

I haven't used the SSV, the LSV or the Plenty but given what I've read on these forums I don't think I'd like any of them very much. Maybe the LSV. But especially since you are looking for something to do bong rips with the LSV and the cloud/+/EVO are probably your best bets, with the cloud+ deal you can get locally being the best option IMO.

Hey man did u actually speak to australian vaporizers?

On their website under the warranty section - "warranty claims can be facilitated by australian vaporizers WITH THE RESPECTIVE MANUFACTURES - AT THEIR DISCRETION goods may be credited replaced or repaired with or without additional costs"

Yes, I spoke with them via email. I contacted them specifically asking what the warranty was on the Cloud+ since I know VXH no longer honors that warranty. You could tell they didn't realise this.
So they are offering the 1yr warranty through the store itself.
If your Cloud+ dies within this period they will only replace with another Cloud+ if they still have stock.
Otherwise you get the store credit.

This is if your unit dies. I'm fairly sure this offer does NOT extend to you just not digging it or it not performing as you expected it would (unless it's underperforming to a faulty level which I guess would be determined by Austalian Vaporizers themselves).

I am very grateful for @lazylathe hooking it up with his own spare glass bamboo. My ebay cloud is resurrected! Lazylathe did a spectacular job. It was packed AMAZINGLY, manufactures could take notes from this guy. It is obvious he spent alot of time packing it (wish I took pictures), I can only imagine how much time he put in fixing it. Unit is aligned perfectly with no extra scratches or any sign of a resurrection. Cant thank him enough.

Had a surprise in store when I opened it. High temp silicone tubing supporting the bamboo so its not just floating around.

Lazy gave me this great idea. Told me he used brewery food grade silicone tube. A trip to my local homebrew store and I bought a foot of 1/2" tubing (same thing he used on the bottom). I cut a piece alittle too tall so it has pressure and increases stability. Also not sure why the joint looks chipped, its not.

And finally to keep my cloud safe I bought this, $12 at my walmart:

Sorry for the crappy picture. Also missing my hydrotube (had water in it) and cloud (already heated up). Has alot of room for a bubbler or something. It is on the large size but for the price I am happy.

Nice work Lazlathe! So good to hear some success on the cloud resurrections.

I just came on to post that Aus vaporizers has cloud+ back in stock with hydratubes but it seems this is old news! I couldn't believe it as I remember when they went out of stock quite some time ago and now they have more stock for sale?
I have been checking their site periodically as elb's were out of stock too. Man I got a suprise the clouds were in stock again and I'm wondering where the hell they came from?

@Canjoodigit did you inquire where the stock came from by any chance?

@olivianewtonjohn, did you just slide the top silicone tubing on or did you need to open/loosen the cloud?

@Teedub

I stretched the oring and dropped it into place like a rubber band. It works really well with 0 movement on the bamboo and is a good safety feature IMO. It kind of reminds me of the o-ring in the solos, works fine without it but feels alot more solid with it. No scratched glass sound and the joint is adjusted pretty high nice for some glass pieces with a recessed joint.

Every so often when turning it on it would just flash red. Took it apart and the thermocouple wires were loose, this could have happened from the bamboo moving up and down before adding the o-ring. The thermocouple wires dont really like to solder (dont stick). Lazyvape's idea of looping the leads works great (have the wires go through the circuit board, there will be about 3/4" of extra wire going through the circuit board bend it and stick it back through the hole.

Think of the gold part as the circuit board and the silver part as the thermocouple wire:

cable.jpg

Adjustment that my dad made (hes more precise at soldering), is have the looped wires enter the circuit board at an angle and fill the entire circuit board hole with solder. The looped wires give it some mechanical support, having looped wires at an angle gives it even more mechanical support.

Did some quick reading about thermocouples today and it appears that the connection makes a difference. Solder type and connection strength could make a difference in resistance. I guess the wires provide a voltage reading for the circuit board when they heat up? Regardless this might sound weird but it seems to get alot hotter now. I wont know for sure until I test it tonight with material. But sitting there with it on 3 oclock, the glass joint seems to be getting alot hotter. If thats the case I will have to re-learn the temperature dial not a bad problem to have

@lazylathe

Just FYI lazylathe has connected the heater wires! This could be very helpful for some people in this thread:

My Cloud+ is still working like a beast after more than 14 months.... big clouds on demand!

A Fc menber asked me why I prefer the MiniVap to the Cloud, I prefer the MV taste, it's really floral!
but the cloud is definitly a bigger hitter than the MV, you can't finish your bowl in 2 or 3 big hits, the first hit is always more diluted with the MV, 2nd and 3rd are really big (you can compare it to the Cloud clouds) and the others hits (number depend strain and load) are more and more wispy but always tasty.(But IDKW it makes me cough more than the Cloud, in the past I told it was a smooth vape but it's not true, I can't use it without water now, with the Cloud I can!)

I come back about the bit difference of taste, I always get difficulties to clean my bamboo and a resin build up is just under the elb place (I wasn't able to clean it), perhaps this is deteriorate the taste....?

The MV is more a gentle vape with big hits ability and the Cloud is a massive medication tool!

I modified the cord on my original ticker, so my warranty is probably void. I run mine at 12 noon most of the time. It has been a work horse with no problems, knock on wood. I plan to buy a new cloud plus and go with the extended . Thanks for a great product.
Happy clouds all! I'm off to Atlanta with out my Cloud
Bummer....
Back on Saturday
Could you give some details on how you did this? I get the idea but more info is always great. If possible pictures

Somebody has already tried to make a kind of DIY VapexNail for the cloud+?

I think it could be similar but shorter since there is a restriction into the bamboo in the Cloud+...

Do you think the smiley is usefull for the vapor production (to get a airflow in the VXN) or only for loading?

I just thought I'd add that I bought a cloud through Australian Vaporizers and can not vouch for them enough, Australian Vaporizers and Ozbongs are amazing companies, do not deal with anyone else in Australia imo.

My clouds gong broke and they replaced the cloud for me.. No questions, no hassle.
They are the best. Nuff said.

Also i'm a little sketched out by people saying their clouds inverted are every electrical smoke or whatever. To me that's really serious and against how vapexhale advertised the product. (As being this healthy all glass pathway without these kinds of issues)

That is brilliant, I'm doing this as soon as I get home. Thanks so much.

(We recently discovered that most of the clouds/EVOs emit fumes when used upside down for too long, for example.)

This is why I quit using mine. Every time I would invert it, the first draw would have a funky taste. Hoping the Silicone tubing will fix that?!?

First clean your bamboo really well. Then smell around the unit without and with heat. if you think the silver metal seams are letting smell through then you can carefully adjust it with loosening/tightening the black screws.

Let us know how it goes!

My bamboo is pretty clean. Nothing like I've seen in this thread. The taste/smell only happens when inverted.

I can only smell it when I put my nose up to the very bottom of the unit, where the bamboo's intake it. I'll check the silver metal seams though.

I just bought a new Cloud+ from Australian Vaporizers.

Guess I am one of those suckers who would still buy a Cloud+ with international EVOs not that far away. :D

I recently rediscovered the cloud. I found by going with low temps and slowly cranking up the temperature I was able to get alot of hits of ~1/4 an elb. Filling the elb less also helped. Two 1/4 elbs in and HOLY shit it felt like I had taken a dab or was on an edible.

Whats your technique? Lets breath more life in this thread
