I wasn't talking specifically about the cord you got, but more a making a post to advice those who are less informed, who may get a ridiculously long cord, or just get whatever they can find. Someone looking for something more flexible may get something too small/thin, etc. I only quoted your post, as it was along the same lines as the others, regarding upgrading cables, amazon buys, etc. Sorry if it came across like I was saying what you purchased was inferior...just trying to help others make a similarly informed good buy.
Any current model cord that fits will be fine for the electrical requirements. I'm using a cord that came with a Brother laser printer because it's flat like lamp cord, and therefore a little more flexible.
I guess I should put in my
on the VXLCEVO vs. the Cloud. It's quite an improved athlete.
It's a big hitter- no change there from the Cloud except that I think the vapor/air ratio is a little higher for a richer hit. I offered that opinion to stonemonkey and he said that was the goal. I would often restrict the air intake on the Cloud, but haven't felt the urge yet with the EVO.
It's light on its feet. The weight drop has been posted, and it's significant. The difference between the EVO and the Solo is just under 3 oz. (83g). It's not only easier to use when lowering onto a bubbler, I think it's safer for vape and glass as well. My Mobius Ion (with water) weighs almost twice as much as the EVO, so now there can be a little more 'give' when vape meets glass. The o-ring/gasket that my Cloud doesn't have should also offer some shock absorber protection.
It's fast. You won't really appreciate the quick heat up time unless you've used the Cloud for a while. Long enough for the honeymoon to be over and now you're sick to death of waiting for the wife to get ready to go out.
The removable cord is a nice convenience, especially if your dog decides it's a chew toy. Makes just moving it from one room to another easier.
Last but not least- it's cool. Even if you don't think it's cool as in awesome, the bottom half of the vape is now practically room temp, which is a huge improvement if you're keeping it on long past the auto shutoff.
Whether the improvements are major or minor is a matter of opinion, and can vary depending on how you use it, but if you wanted the Cloud and didn't get one, I think this version was well worth the wait. Long term reliability remains to be seen, but they seem confident in the new internal improvements.
