I LOVE LIFE
Apologies my good sir!!! No harm intended, I'm just a little defensive about VapeXhale like some are about their sports teams. VAPE ON!!!!
We are the summation of our experiences, and some folks have had bad experiences with the EVO. I understand. If I spent $450 and had nothing go right, frustration would be too kind of word. Many of us have had nothing but good experiences with our EVOs. Because of that, we are fans. It is totally fair not to like a product, and it is totally fair to be in love with it. Different experiences produce different outcomes.
Hehe thats exactly whats i live.450 dollards and got nothing working just get me frustrated and if u add thats i sell my cloud to get it i was very frustrated!!! Im getting my cloud back from my friends monday and vaporizer.ca send me a return label (they never wanted to refund me fully i will have to pay the 20% fee..Gonna lose 90 buck on this adventure but it could be worse).
Sorry if i have sound over zealous about the whole thing i was just so fn mad at the moment .
90 dollars? Couldn't you get the replacement for free, and test that out and still have the ability to return it if you don't like it or if it didn't work? Seems like you're giving up a bit too early at your own expense.
@Jamesqc666
You said money's tight for you , I get that .
But why would you spend $ 90 and Have Nothing to show for it .
Rather than spend $ 20 to $ 30 shipping and Have Something to show .
Hopefully ( fingers crossed ) a good working unit .
The Evo has Customer support for their issues .
The Cloud + does not , if I'm correct . Meaning , what will you do if/when the Cloud + has problems . Will you be buying an Evo then ?
Also Stonemonkey55 reached out to you personally to submit a ticket .
From what I've read , some members who were assisted by sm55 . Came out doing alright , maybe some perks to make up for lost time .That may relieve some of the pain of shipping costs . idk
The problems you've stated are known and I'm aware of what I may
expect when I get mine . But I'm hoping their QC have resolved them .
Sm55 is on FC forum and Does Listen to their customers .
Good Luck my fellow Canuck .
For those liking a chilled hit, this is amazing. The best hits I have ever had bar none.
I have had the glycerine tube before defusion takes place, but having the chill right before you inhale feels amazing.
For the simple fact thats for having the fund necessary for the EVO i had to sold my old cloud cause i didnt had the 450 for this...So ive come to the conclusion thats getting refund 360 of 450 and getting my cloud back was better thats starting to ship the EVO and for quoting you Hopefully ( fingers crossed ) a good working unit.I dont see myself asking my buddy after 1 month heyyyy its possible to get my old vap back lol.
I think that these are all legitimate concerns but from our perspective things are going according to plan. We procured the services of a manufacturing consultant prior to this launch on what to expect and the best method to launch. Based on the feedback we've been getting in aggregate, we are doing better than we are supposed to be. As much as we would have liked to get it perfect on the first try, it is inevitable that a few bugs pop up especially with an expedited development process.
Just to put things in perspective, the OG Cloud (ticker) initially had about a 25% failure rate (heaters were turning to fiberglass if anyone remembers) before we moved to a different heater. The EVO has had a 4.7% defect rate thus far. Industry average is 2% so we are def trying to push that number down.
Just to be clear, there have been no blown heaters or any mechanical failure, the two issues we see right now are:
1. Non-linear temp dial. For the majority of users, this is a non issue but there are some folks where the entire powerband falls between one or two hash marks/hours on the dial. Most people just find their sweet spot and set it there but for those like @Amazingkaddycap where the power is overly concentrated in one area, we are happy to upgrade the firmware to get it functioning properly.
2. Crack bamboos. We recently expanded, hired more people, showed them how to assemble and test EVOs. Some of our heaters were wrapped a little bit too tightly around the bamboo and when the glass would expand during heat up time, it would crack against the pressure of the heater. This is easily solvable by simple wrapping the heater a little bit looser to give the glass a little more play.
As someone else said, please take a look at the majority of the reviews and make your own decision. In general for reviews (whether here or on Amazon or any other site), we know the most vocal people are those experiencing an issue. If you look at our reviews in aggregate, there is significantly more positive than negative. I'm not here to try and convince anyone one way or the other, just want to add some additional data points and allow people to make up their own mind on whether to purchase a product from us or not. Happy holidays everyone!
Sorry about your difficulties with your EVO. A few things to try:
1. Try letting it warm up for a few extra minutes before your first pull.
2. If it is looking whispy at (fill in the blank) spot on the dial, just turn it up.
3. Most of the videos are shot with some sort of lighting so you may need to go to a different area to see the same effect.
4. Comparing vapor to the old OG at the same position on the dial doesn't accurately sum up whether an EVO is outperforming an OG or not. I think the consensus on this board is that the EVO is noticeably better than the previous model so pretty sure you don't have to worry. We think you will be happy @darkrom TGIF!
I had a similar experience with selling my Cloud to my friend and buying an EVO that needed a firmware update. However, I had no problems spending $10 to get a better working unit. One week later I had a perfectly working EVO and I had saved money by taking a t-break. I would never ask my friend to sell it back to me because I changed my mind .
You can make an argument about a high number of reports of firmware updates needed, but as far as I know only one person has had to send it in again after they had already sent it in (edit to clarify: I don't know of more than one person who has had to send it in twice for firmware issues). I may be wrong in that matter.
A quote from page 51 from SM about the EVOs that needed to be sent back...
Edit 2: While attempting to see if there was more than one person who had to send it in twice I saw another SM quote which addressed early firmware concerns.
I agree and know from experience that's it's frustrating to have that downtime with concern if it will pay off. I may sound defensive, but I just rant by nature. I'm basically saying I think it would be in your best interest to at least try a firmware update once, but I sympathize with where you are coming from.
Now that was a very nice article. Well written with an actual "accurate" message for a change. Thanks @Enchantre . . my favorite quote:I'd missed this article until now: Waiting to VapeXhale...
Dragonfly de la Luz said:I got so ludicrously high off that tiny toke that I didn’t take a single hit of anything else for the rest of the day. I passed booth after booth that offered dab after dab and even though I am a devout, daily dabber, I was simply too high to indulge further. In fact, I was the highest I ever remember being off cannabis and I get stoned for a living.
I totally agree. That is probably the most informed and well reviewed article yet for the EVO!!Now that was a very nice article. Well written with an actual "accurate" message for a change. Thanks @Enchantre . . my favorite quote:
Yes on both accounts. I got the tamer from SSV. It is 18mm male and female. Definitely the best experience And pairing I've tried so farSorry to bump an old post but this setup has been on my mind for awhile, more so now that I got a Hydrafoot 2.0 on the way. Is that just the SSV Saturn Vapor Tamer? And are the joints on it both 18 mm (both the female and male ends)?
A product failure, even a moderate one, doesn't win Cannabis Cup awards, and the neither the crooked manufacturer (let's call a spade a spade) nor repair issues dirtied up the product launch enough IMO to call the Cloud anything but a success. Some people definitely got burned, but others made out just fine with replacements they wouldn't have received from some other companies, and lots of people got great prices during the initial launch- A Cloud with hydratube for $350 was quite a bargain. The EVO is actually the 'Cloud EVO', so I feel like they've built on the Cloud, instead of sweeping it under the rug, as you would a product with a bad rep.Tbh, I kinda see it as the cloud was a moderate failure, hence the EVO
They designed it without thinking of the ability to repair a faulty unit (or at least that wasn't their focus), then got themselves involved with what turned out to be a dodgey manufacturer, and really, (IMO) the end of the clouds lifecycle was a shitstorm...
The units themselves perform smashingly (with the exception of units that need firmware adjustments), but if I was looking at the original cloud project as a whole, from my position with the limited info I have, I wouldn't consider it a smashing success...
I'd like to 2nd that vaporizers.ca is a great company. I've dealt with them a number of times and they've always been great! Thanks vaporizers.ca! It's companies like vaporizers.ca and PlanetVape that give me hope for the future of customer service!Just upgrade from a cloud (not the oldest one but not the cloud + too) to a evo and im supposed to receive it in 2 day!!!
Im a little worried about the review of overheating but i buy my unit from vaporizer.ca (crazy good service i call them and 2h later my evo was on the post with free shipping and they still post it express post and pay all taxes)they offer me a 1 year warranty directly with them and they said they receive those unit just 3 week ago so the firmware problem should be solve (i suppose i still got a warranty direct with the company.Do i need to register?).
One of my friends want to buy my old cloud but its hard to lets it go it give me such good service but by the way you guy talk about the evo it should put my old cloud on the closet anyway lol.

$350 was the original price for a cloud+hydratube. It was $500 for the combo which was still an incredible bargain, especially considering the amazing glass.
