TinyMight / TM 2

I would be very surprised if the walnut from vapefiend is fully upgraded as we've only heard about the possibility of that in the last week or so. Previously they said the upgrades wouldn't make it to the walnut. Fwiw I see the zirconia heater surround as a downgrade leading to more body heat with extended sessions so personally I wouldn't stress over it 👍

This is totally guess work though tbh! 😁
Ah ok👍

I thought they started releasing new walnut versions with an updated switch, metal liner (and less warranty lol) a while ago? That's what I was referring to anyhow

What additional upgrades have you heard about during the last week?

just received a walnut version from Vapefiend. Is there anyway of confirming if it's the updated version by inspecting it? I'm assuming it is lol ..
My understanding is if you unscrew the top ring and pull the metal sleeve out there should be more metal under the sleeve instead of glass.

Take it for what it’s worth, but a couple stores had places on their page that said all the TM2s being sold by them had the upgraded internals. I ordered a Wlanut from POTV. I would look and see (It’s due to arrive tomorrow!), but I’m not taking it apart yet!

yeah, not too keen on doing that either to my new one. But can you tell if the switch is the updated one just by clicking on it? And, if it is, would that likely mean that the liner is metal too?

I don’t consider removing the top ring as taking it apart as it requires no tools. I’ve never taken mine apart either but I do remove the top ring often as that’s how I keep my unit clean. The metal sleeve with the screen can gunk up I iso wash it, and the plate under the screen always leaves some gold on a iso qtip

Ah, yeah you probably have those upgrades. The PH one has a couple of heater updates. Zirconia heater surround and beefier ceramic spacer rods inside the heater.

Yeah, I was actually slightly put off getting the PH because one review mentioned more heat or quicker heat and the vape seems hot enough already.

Also the 18 gram difference in weight, while very little, is still a slight advantage in the walnut's favour for me at least. I'm used to carrying around a XMAX pro 3, which weighs only 132 grams, incl water adapter and battery.

The Zirconia upgrades could or should result in a longer lifespan of the vape, due to being a stronger material and beefier rods, but it's not a given and only time will tell with that. The wood is really nice for sure...

Now that I have a couple Tinymight (OG, TM2 Walnut, TM2 PH) here, I can compare them a bit. I like my PH better than the Walnut because the vapor seems smoother to me, but that could also be because I want to see differences. It could also be due to the different manufacturer settings of the devices. Ultimately, I like the PH (visually) better, but I mainly use the Walnut. Considering the possible differences between the devices, the Walnut is perfectly adequate, but having a PH can be nice.

Thank you for the detailed answers. Then I will give myself a TM for Christmas.
Now the question is whether a purple heart with the zirconium inlay or the walnut with quartz glass.
I like the look of both. If you go for the purely technical effect, which one would you buy?

The normal TM2 is in no way inferior to the PH. I like the iridescent sparkle in the wood of the PH. As I said, I usually use the normal TM2, but I have also adjusted the factory setting down to the blue range, as I like the smoother puffs more and the high feels more pleasant to me. With my non-existent tolerance, I stretch 0.005g with CBD to 0.05g.

If you want that little bit more, the PH, the normal TM2 is at eye level and in my eyes none is superior to the other.

There isn't that much difference between the 2 versions really. The PH might be a little more robust with the zirconia heater surround, compared to quartz, and stronger spacers inside the heater spiral, however the zirconia will absorb more heat and quicker than the quartz making the body hotter sooner with back to back sessions. If you are on the more clumsy side the PH is probably the better choice.

And if you decide from a health point of view, would zirconia or quartz have an advantage or are both materials harmless?

What colour is everyone's charging light? Mine was orange but now it's red after a warranty repair.

I think you already asked, my TM2 (1Q24) has an orange LED, the PH is red, my second walnut (3Q24) is also red.

New TM2 came, loving it, but have a couple questions:

I’m getting a very light ring on the outside of the load, and very dark in the middle. Is this normal, or am I drawing too slow/fast?

Which is better from a battery life perspective, session mode so it doesn’t have to reheat, or on demand where it cools some between hits?

How much does standby mode drain the battery? Is it OK to leave in standby, or should you power it down?

How often do you need to oil/wax the wood?

So now I've ordered the PH-TM for €349. Since I am sometimes a clumsy person.
Is the drip tip included in the accessories?
It doesn't say anything about it in the description, but it is shown in the picture

Okay I set out to read all 700+ pages a while back but I have since given up lol.

My honest review: when the TinyMight v2 works, it works flawlessly, better than anything I've ever used.
However.
It barely works, because as soon as too much heat goes through the unit itself, the button "unsticks". For me nowadays, it's just more time-efficient for me to keep claiming the valid warranty, to ship it across the Atlantic, and then wait about a week total for it to come back.

The problem is this costs energy and fuel. DHL is not a good shipping company: the first time, they were out of the delivery window by a couple hours. The second time, they woke me up during my medically-mandated nap - because they have to inspect the unit that I already cleaned and already removed the battery from, and that is not fair to me as the customer.

I don't think it was worth the hassle and around 500 bucks CAD (with accessories) that it cost me, but now that I have it, I take care of it.

Of course, my Arizer Air Max is missing the bottom battery cover, so it's unusable, so time for the last few hits on session mode of the TM2 before I inevitably get frustrated by the button failing yet a third time (they never actually end up repairing the actual problem), and have to repeat the process all over again.

Still. I'm in a better position than when I lost a Mighty or two to Gaia. And my E-nano XL has never failed - only during the glorious blackouts do I resort to the big C; ideally...

TL;DR: Top of the line dry herb vape when it works (which it does, usually); clearly designed on the other side of the flippin' planet; prone to mechanical/stress failure.

I thought the problem with the button was fixed on the TM2?
It's giving me a bit of a headache to spend so much money on a device that is very vulnerable.

The statement is "the button comes loose when it gets too hot". You also have to consider the usage. On mine, even the two OGs, the button is in place and works. So far I have no concerns about the button on my units, it may be due to the pressure being applied, the unit may get too hot after too much use. Remote diagnoses are hard to make without seeing the usage. I haven't had any problems yet. But my usage is also moderate with one session in the evening.
