Interestingly they have pics of both the light and dark woods and, sadly, no RED. It’s in French and I didn’t translate it. So both light and dark (walnut and maple, or perhaps oak? I don’t recall what the main wood types were) are now available? If so that’s a good sign.

Damned UPS - my repaired TM didn’t arrive yesterday as initially indicated. Fingers crossed today is the day. :peace:

Received mine on the 23rd with only a few days shipping UPS direct from TM. Loving the grain on mine.
I have added 4mm quartz balls inside the lower half off the CU (removed screen and stuffed as many as I could. Prob 8). and 6mm balls under the CU between the basket screen. Still keeping the upper CU filled with nuts and washers. For the past few days I've been trying different amounts of beads and nuts. This seems to be the best for back to back hits on the original glass.

guss that was asked a thousand times but for the TM 1 users:

the screen which sits directly above the heater. how does that come in? the flat side or the deep side towards the mouthpiece?

Did you find that the quartz balls improve significantly the cooling of the vapor ?

I have a bit of an insight maybe. I'm an unusual case, as I'm someone who suffers from panic attacks sometimes, yet I am a heavy user. I normally do some deep breathing when I feel one coming on when very high.

I've noticed with TM2 I get super high, but I find I never even begin to feel anxious. The effect is pronounced compared to when I use FP, Anvil, Volcano.

I'm thinking it's because I'm vaping at such a low temp with the TM2. The high feels so different. Does anyone have any experience which mirrors this?

There are only 2 models. The original TM that went through design changes along the way, and the new TM 2. The latter versions of TM have never been officially designated 1.5, just by the community, and I always thought that could confuse people.

If buying second hand just find out when it was purchased for a reasonable idea if you have the latest version or not. I don't actually think this is really worth worrying about, the only version I would be concerned to get would be the very first one that didn't have battery polarity protection or calibration function. My model from may 20 has had those fixes. The latest version will have a serial number.

so i got this one for a steal price as 2nd hand. it was bought in march 21 but has no serial number on the bottom. any chance for me to find out if i got the "1.5" or more the better board version here?

Now it’s Thursday - ugh! UPS ain’t with it like it used to be.

In related TM news, I just found out Delta3DStudios makes a case for TM1. In different colors too. Not my thing but I’ve purchased accessories from Delta3D and they make very nice things for various vapes and general accessories. Cheers. :peace:

It’s due to the fact at lower temperatures you are getting terpenes(the different smells) which alot get burned off using fire; but with vaping the terpenes release all sorts of pain and anxiety relief you may not get when smoking. Hence when your are stress free and relaxed due to terpenes getting more high is almost a given. Some call it the “entourage effect” .

You can remove the bottom plate and inspect the board, if the board has a serial number you've got the latest revision.
i don't know if i trust me with that... i am a bit lefthanded when it comes to fiddly electronics. i think i have to leave it as it is and just be happy with it. it was more a collectible piece. and for the price i couldn't say no... i'll enjoy my TM2 and leave this as a good looker in the mancaves showcase. thanks dude!

Well, I don't believe it's worth worrying about anyway. I'm sure the details of the new boards are more refined, but I don't think it makes much difference to the end user, especially when you consider the device has a 10 year warranty.
sounds good! i don't know if the warranty applies to me if its second hand but theres the repair option in the store as well. thanks!

I am sure you bought from a reputable seller but my curiosity would get me to look at the board to make sure it was not a counterfeit. I am too paranoid that a deal is too good to be true.

That's a good point! Do you know if there is a way to tell a fake from an older (not with a serial number) original? I can't remember reading about that it there is a way.

I don't remember exactly, but i think being set on 1 with 3 (or 5?) clicks the revised board flashes the available colours.
If you search the thread for "TM 1.5" or similar keywords you'll find it

Not with 100% confidence but all the counterfeit teardowns had a different colored PCB. If it were mine, I would probably just compare it to the old photos from the teardowns in this thread.

first few runs have been a little hit or miss for me. Admittedly, I am traveling and forgot my grinder so hand shredding material. I have started 4-4.5 and gotten good flavor but no noticeable clouds. Increased to 5.5 but its better but not consistent; one hit I will get nothing and then go right back and get a big cloud. Still some work to on breathing technique, levels, etc Always a learning curve to any device
