Batch 2, #51, my mindset has become that I'll get it when I get it, I think it's been so long and feels like such a far off removed thing that I don't really care anymore either way (edit: either way in this case means when I get it, not if, I do believe Dan will deliver one day, but at this point have no expectations as to when). That being said, I think people's frustration is very valid, honestly I'm not even sure if I'll keep it once I get it, but I do really want to at least get my hands on it for a little bit.

Body: Figured Walnut
Stem Collar/ Bottom: Canarywood
Side Pulls: Pink Ivory

Fingers crossed you guys get to put your hands on your so long desired Nomad 🤞 sad to see so much hope and expectation vanishing in time :myday: but I am sure Dan while end up with something !
I wish I had your faith. I can’t really see how he can go back to working on the Nomads, seeing as how the Toad seems to be his main source of income now. The Nomads are all long since paid for.

Anyone heard from Dan lately? Emails seem to be extremely slow...

It would also be nice to get a late september or early october to figure out what's left to do on Batch II before they ship out.

Does anyone have suggestions how to loosen a stuck button on a nomad? My poor nomad is a beautiful work of art but my button is stuck in fire mod, so hard to actually put this baby to use.

you have to remove the battery.
you take the long key provided by Dan and you unscrew the screw located at the bottom of the hole. This will release the button.

If you haven't used it for a long time, you should take the opportunity to clean/polish it to remove the patina at strategic points (refer to the guides (I posted "links" in message #5,872 )).
it's not really optional... but rather essential...

Thank you for this,

I think luck has been on my side, my button had been stuck in place for an unknown amount of time (way more than a year). I had just gotten to thinking of the nomad when talking to someone in PM about some unrelated devices, but after posting this I dug up my Nomad and I am happy to report that the button seems to have worked its way loose with the tincture of time.

I am going to consider this a sign that fate has smiled on me a little and am going to go ahead and look at the post number you have referred me to. Thank you.

I did pop in both heaters just to make sure all worked as it should with a fresh (but elderly) battery.

Maybe I had mixed up which heaters were which, I had assumed the more tightly wound appearing one would be the high-temp heater, does not seem to be the case.

With pleasure!!

If it's been a year since you last used it and you're using "new but old" batteries...

you can't rely on the experience you've had to determine the high and low heating.

I think that if you look at the two radiators side by side, the radiator with the least material, the least spirals is the high heating.

Wait for confirmation from another member here, but I'm pretty sure of myself.

enjoy the reunion!!
take the opportunity to share a photo with us if you have the opportunity!

Hey thank you so much for giving me some extra explanation and clarity!

If I remember right we need to have a website for hosting in order to post pictures right? I can try and sort that out, Dan really went above and beyond with the artwork and detail of my Nomad.

It was a really incredible experience. I just gave a few simple things that inspired me and asked him to just do his artistry. It was time well invested and I would love to share with you guys what I feel like is the perfect Nomad for an imperfect fella like me!

When I come home from Sunday I will try to take a few pictures to upload!

What area of the country do you find yourself? I am in the interior of Alaska! But my niece in Maryland looked like she got some incredible views just last night or the night before.

My Nomad has some incredible nods to Alaska that I can’t wait to share with you! Nomad number 42 holds a real special place!

i can't wait to see your Nomad, a new treasure unveiled 😁
it's like finding a painting by Monet or Picasso!!

I'm in Montreal so the Northern Lights shows are very rare here....
you need a big magnetic explosion and a lot of parameters to be combined....

in short, I drove for 1 hour... to find myself between 4 fields.... with a cloud ceiling... that didn't move for 1 hour.

that's why we talk about "northern lights hunting" I suppose...

--------------------------------------------------

I'll take this opportunity to post pictures of my latest case for Nomad...
each unit is dressed now! it's satisfying.

For this last case, I asked Dan and Steff, to dye with the darkest brown possible.
Steff is now able to make all shades of brown... which was perfect for me!
and the button is made of boxwood... it goes very well with the dark brown.
I literally love all my cases, but this one is particularly successful!!

(I received some magnificent wooden stems... I will post some pictures of associations later!!)

Have a good start to the weekend everyone!!
