The Nomad From Morwood

Here are some pictures of my Nomads with my latest acquisitions...
I received 3 stems (boxwood, two-tone blackwood and figured walnut) and a very dark brown case for my Nomad in sequoia burl.

I love them all.
The walnut stem is the most beautiful. It has a very strong, almost unpleasant smell, but fortunately, the taste is very light.

Anyway, have a good Sunday everyone!!!

Indeed, the photos do not do justice to the beauty of each unit...
Even those of Dan, who does an incredible photographic work... it's even harder to follow him, isn't it!

my love for Dan's work makes up for my technical and artistic shortcomings 😁





i would love so much that everyone shares photos regularly... all the time, actually...!
but the previous batches are far away... so I'm also waiting for the next batch to enjoy the excitement.
i know it's coming!!

ps: @virtualpurple , where are your photos?! 😋

Me again...

Nomad OG #005 joined the collection a few days ago!

It arrived on a very special day for me, so we started writing a story together.

The planets are still perfectly aligned.

This is a Nomad with a walnut body and a cherry collar. The cover is made of craft paper. The button is made of lichen.

It had lived a life.

I cleaned it, made it shine, removed the patina, applied wax. Then I slightly enlarged the hole for the heater and significantly the one for the battery.

It has already started his second life.

I already love it.

The colors of the different parts match very well with each other... with a lot of harmony.... and... they are my colors!!

And the simplicity of the design as a whole is very pleasant. The simple coating (versus custom paints) makes it look less damaged/fragile.

In short, I'm delighted!!!

Thanks to his first companion for passing it on to me!!

Christmas has already passed for me...

But soon a week of vacation to celebrate!

Ok... my vacation hasn't started yet... and I've already vaped once an hour (true story) and taken 1 million pictures...
I'm going to pull myself together! and contain myself!

And...
I'm trying a new method: I try to hide the pictures, so you don't have to see them, if you don't want it 😁
It’s a good method to make me feel less guilty!!

I made my 1st tray in marbled leather and noticed that the colors go well with the flowers on my Nomad.

So we’re a few days away from the deadline for the final batch 2 update, announced 2 months ago. Anyone want to place a bet on whether we see it?

Probably not, because in the meantime another batch of Toads is going out. I wish he’d suspend Toad production for the time being and get. Batch. 2. Finished.

But after 10 days of exclusivity, I resumed my usual rotation so that the patina does not develop on the other units...

I really like your marbled leather top! It actually goes very well with your Nomad!!

Love seeing more of Dan's work going out but can we actually talk about stopping getting new toads for a bit so the people who ordered a Nomad in 2021 (and I was the LAST one to pay so there's people who paid even earlier) can start receiving what they paid for. Thanks.

In my position it's $550 spent and all I have to show for it is a photo of a wooden block that has yet be touched for anything other than a picture. I appreciate his hard work but it's been three years of broken promises, inaccurate timelines, delays with no communication, and excuses for why this batch is taking so much longer.

Dan is extremely talented and kind but let's not mistake kindness and willingness for anything more than kindness and willingness. He still has promises to fulfill and he still has to work on communicating better if he's going to make people wait half a decade for his product.

Off my soap box now. Love you, Dan but please focus on the outstanding orders from years ago.
