Sure, it could work. Others have stated how good the GH performs with concentrates and cotton but they are also risking their warranty by doing so. So hashes might work also BUT, compared to concentrates, you need far more hash for a comparable result and with the steeping amount of product you steep up in the risk of possible gunking up failures.
Seriously, I would not risk it. You got a Mighty and a Vapman, both proven to deliver good results with hashes.
Hm, still no reasonable justification for me to get a hopper then. Let's see if I can master VAS or if it wins again (which is obviously only a matter of time). Perhaps I'll just get something else, easier to clean and maintain... Lotus?
If I should ever get a GH anyways I'll try some traditional hash in there and report back how it went. I'm really not afraid about loosing the warranty or damaging the hopper, just curious if the vapor production with traditional hash could justify the new acquisition. I'm sure there is more than one work-around to protect the heater / heating chamber from gunking up. I have a few S&B liquid pads left and enough AVB to mix with. This is how I used to vape hash in the Pax 2, it's easier to clean than the mighty and still conserves taste better (or longer) than the VM.
While they all- mighty, VM and Pax 2- can deliver quite good vapor, there is still much room for improvement when it comes to vaping traditional hash, at least maintenance wise for the mighty and taste wise for the VM. I don't want to believe it's the end of the road! And somehow I thought the 45w heater could transform the sticky hashish to crumbly dust which would be easier to get out of the chamber.
They don't seem to have a retail shop to stop by, vaposhop is online only as stated in their disclaimer on the page. I guess a vape only store would be far to niche to make profit from.
At least the German reseller "verdampftnochmal" has a retail shop in Berlin. You can even try out some of their vapes in the shop for a test run with legal herbs!
It would have been a nice occasion to combine the visit in Amsterdam with the GH purchase. But in the case of vaposhop only doing online business, sadly the easiest way to get a GH might be the online purchase, like so often.
I often wonder these days what people mean exactly by 'hash'. Back in the day, this was imported, fairly solid, material that came in forms like blocks cheese cloth wrapped kief (red, gold, or green) and black slab type hashes. In my experience smoking tons of this stuff in the past, it doesn't bubble at all...it smokes to an ash.
This is why I wrote "traditional hash", to make clear I'm not talking about solvent-or carbon-based extracts, the only "solvent" might be water (hopefully).
The hash I've got is still made with the same "traditional", mechanical extraction techniques like dry sift, hand rubbing or (ice-)water like dynasties before, but it's far far away from the "old school brick hash" containing much plant material and trichome stalks we apparently both used to vape (or combust) long time ago. But time changed:
"If it doesn't bubble, it's not worth the trouble!". So even those mechanical (or solventless extracts) are mostly solid, there is a good chance to gunk up the screens or the heater underneath if overfilled or if used without a layer of herbs/ SS mesh. This is exactly why I don't like hash in the mighty. Extensive cleaning needed since everything gunks up with nepalese or water hash.
Traditional hash can be very close to solvent-based extracts in terms of purity or potency. Even if I can obtain very good chemical concentrates, I'm still more into "bubble hash" or the traditional hash for different reasons, no matter how it was extracted.
Perhaps someone with a hopper and some hash(-ish) is brave enough to try it out. Just for science!
