Thanks for that @osolx26, it's posts like yours that give me faith and make me want to keep the GH instead of selling it when it returns from warranty. It's hard not to get negative when i've read about and PMed with so many members that are on their 3rd GH or worse.

i second the request for a crafty CU/grasshopper adapter!
i'm also confused, no screen at all between the herb and your mouth? what's to keep it from dumping into the CU when it's not vertical, or inhaling bits of stuff?
The way I have the two connected, there is a Firewood 3 mouthpiece serving as the "adapter", which has a fine stainless steel screen, that sits flush to the the GH when pushed into the Firewood mouthpiece silicone. Only honey goodness showing inside the CU after a few sessions.

Man, I just want to say that the Crafty CU/GH pairing makes the GH top notch. The *only* thing I don't like about the GH is the hot vapor beyond setting 3. I'd go to 4-5 to fully extract chamber but it wasn't pleasant to say the least. 1-3 setting: magical. 3.5-5: blah. But now I can go to setting 5 and rip the coolest clouds without any hot mouthpiece/vapor issues AT ALL!

I'm envisioning that I'll probably use the GH with CU after I get the floral flavor hits on 1-3 just use the CU for full extraction! What an amazing solution

For me personally the vapor isn't too hot on setting 4. Only after hitting it for a while (talking over 6 or 7 hits, but by that time my material is usually spent anyway) does it really start to bother me. I don't have a crafty, though, so I'll be hitting mine through a bubbler. I can buy one but I'm not the kind of guy that'll have multiple portables. 1 portable and 1 desktop (soon to be bought) is more than enough for me. Maybe I'll get one of those little water pieces someone posted a link to earlier that you can fix it to the top of the grasshopper. Still, this all seems like a great idea for those of you that have the equipment. The creativity on this forum is ridiculous sometimes.

Maybe you didn't see -- the Crafty c/u is available separately for under $20.

You can buy the cooling unit separately for about $20. That's the best part!!!

I don't have my GH yet but the crafty is a truly amazing session vape. The best I've owned and tried.
I hate to play devils advocate but a GH and crafty/mighty would be an unstoppable duo. One for full sessions and the other for quick hits on the go. And for when the GH is in the lab for repairs (hope it isn't the case for you).

But don't listen to me.... I'm on 7 vapes now and GH on preorder... You might go broke listening to me hahaha.

Easily done once I have my hopper. Although I'm confused, are you guys removing the mouthpiece and using the screen in the Crafty's CU to hold the herb back?
You can either use the stock GH mouthpiece and create a silicone mould that will mate to the crafty cooling unit air inlet hole (sans crafty screen).

Or you can do what @Kaptan has done and not use the stock GH MP and use a silicon sleeve instead that mates to the crafty cooing unit. But then you will have to implement a screen into your design.

Grasshopper Pre-order January Update Hey Everyone, We are here to announce that pre-orders will start shipping in February! We are delivering the last of the IGG backer units now and with all the device issues worked out, we are ramping production up further. The team has been working to implement device tweaks, add more manufacturing equipment and increase throughput. Over the last few months, the Grasshopper has undergone a number of small tweaks to ensure reliability over its lifetime. As our original indiegogo backers stress tested the device, we received a lot of real-world data on what worked and what needed improvement. We applied what we learned, and tweaked the design and manufacturing processes to meet the demands of users. This was a valuable process, one that every pre-order will greatly benefit from. In December we added a computer controlled laser welder which allows for greater reliability and five to six times the throughput during the welding process. Our pick-and-place machine will come online this month, allowing for shorter lead times and a more streamlined production process. Our assembly staff has increased in size and is fully trained on the entire process. We know each of you pre-ordered a Grasshopper because you knew it was something new and different. The Grasshopper is different from any other large scale consumer product. With over 75 minutes of in-house assembly time going into each unit, we are looking over every detail. Each member of the team contributes in the construction and shipping of every Grasshopper. It was designed with the singular idea of building the absolute best device and we have put in an insane amount of effort to make building it possible. We know there have been many delays, and we appreciate your patience. Now that we are shipping to pre-orders, the line will move quickly. Your specific estimated shipping schedule will be updated on our website shortly. The Grasshopper Team

Dec 13 backer still waiting on shipping... maybe they are still incorporating their +/- a month policy...

I feel like I'll be lucky to have mine within a few weeks. An email from Caroline a few days ago mentioned the last 300 again... they will get to us..

"with all the device issues worked out, we are ramping production up further"

This, to me, is the significant part of this update.
There are always lingering questions.

Why is this update 3 days early? We could kick that around some I suppose...

I like my bubblers and recyclers too but i don't think that will fly at say theaters. The Crafty cu may even be a little sketch in some situations with a pen crammed in it still going to give it a go at home. The Ssv mp seems rather promising even on the go and i already have everything needed for that.

If you're ripping the gh at max temp in a movie theater then you're just asking to get caught. I use it on 2.5 in the back of the theater without a problem. The lower temps don't bother my throat. I think the crafty CU would be a little unwieldy and, honestly, kills the stealth aspect when you're out in public. Great idea for at home or places where stealth isn't necessary, though. Unfortunately, herb is still illegal in my state so I value stealth in my portables for when I'm out in public.

I make sure to take a Smoke buddy because i vape and make various 50 state legal medical juice tinctures and those create obstructive vapors. I only once had anyone say anything while vaporizing a much needed 50 state legal tincture at the movies without a Smoke buddy, But yeah it's playing with fire if anything from the Hopper on high don't pass through a filter. I would probably cough if i took a draw on high with the Hopper.

Yeah my standard is 2.5-3 if out in public, 3.5-4 if at home, 4-4.5 if using a bubbler.

So, that mod made me go sit in the corner for a week, but I thought I'd pop back over now and let you all know that, less than two weeks after I got mine, it got the flashing blue/red lights and no longer works.

So don't believe their BS about how they've now "worked out all the issues." Maybe someday they'll be able to ship a consistently reliable product, but they are not there yet.

Just thought I'd let y'all know that (knock on wood) mine's still going strong, and I'm SO glad I have it for carnival season!! I'm thinking of rigging a lanyard or old phone cord tether to make sure I keep mine ON my person Mardi Gras day. (Or maybe I'll stick with a concentrate pen on such a chaotic day. I'd really hate to lose it on such a cluster-fucky chaotic fun day)
Point is: so far so good! (Just to remind y'all, I was a Dec 11 backer, green ti. I gifted my SS to a retired, older person, and his is still working great too! He only uses the magnetic charger so far as well. I mainly use a Nitecore, but occasionally use the magnetic USB with no problems.)

EDIT: I did use my Prima on a parade I played last weekend. It doubles as a hand warmer, and a full chamber in that thing lasted me for the hours-long parade...hitting it every so often. I do recommend the prima...I need to post a review in that thread. Something nearly everyone is wrong about that one: It is like 60% convection and 40% conduction...NOT full conduction, which means it tastes great for session one, but you lose flavor/efficiency if you revisit a bowl later, as the residual heat eats it up somewhat. I still use my firewood 3.0 at home through water sometimes because something about the slight woodiness is warming, but there's technique involved, and it's MUCh easier to just stick my hopper on my Orbiter and rip...and my flowermate mini is collecting dust. It DOES work great through water at home, but why bother when I have quicker full convection options for going through water at home?)

Sorry to hear that, man. You big complainer! j/k :D

They do take care of faulty units...maybe not at lightning speed, or as priority, but they get to it. I sent in my 3rd warranty request last Tue and I should be getting my replacement this weekend according to the tracking. I never got the cop lights but 4 bad back ends and 3 units later, I've definitely had my fair share of dealing with the warranty process.

I've read a few folks mention posters as being "complainers" for reporting negative feedback. That's kind of annoying to read over and over. I don't feel I've complained once, just reported the facts as I've experienced them. I do understand that people can be little bitches, sure, but not all reports of unsuccessful stories are complaints. I'm trying to provide helpful info for all, hopefully they translate that way.
