i don't have a Crafty so i don't know. is it easy to scrape out that reclaim oil from Crafty's cooler? if so, than this thing is a big time on a GO device because it is made from strong plastic not fragile glass. if reclaiming is a pain, i will prefer to use Solo's glass stem though- just for easy reclaiming purposes (scraping it out with a flat screwdriver). and they are not so expensive if brake.

It's a piece of cake! Easier than the solo stem!!

You open it up and litterally scrape out the reclaim... Then anything you can't scrape you iso bath.

I've put guides in the crafty thread. I can't seem to work out how to link exact posts.

The link (permalink) to copy/paste is at lower right corner of the post you wish to link. It's a # sign with a number next to the "Like" button.

This Hopper/Crafty hybrid sounds very cool, no pun intended.
As a Mighty (former Crafty) user I know the c/u is a reclaim factory. To a degree, the amount generated is a factor of the temps employed. I think, other factors equal, that hotter vaping will leave less reclaim behind in the c/u. Makes me feel strangely like a Moonshiner from tv!

Huge props to @Thcgos for this creative pairing. Brave New World out here!

i believe you about easy reclaiming!

ordered Crafty's cooler already while it is only $17.90. i feel that they gonna put up some more dollar on that price when more orders from Hopper owners come in. this thing is an ultimate cooler for on a go purposes. it is made from a strong material. not fragile glass.

thank you for this idea! and keep on vaping m8!

Thanks @vapviking , it doesn't show on mobile version, I had to force desktop browsing on my mobile. Thanks for the tip.

@Vaperist
Here is one of my more recent posts on the scrape technique as applied to the crafty cooing unit
http://fuckcombustion.com/posts/908295/
It is quite detailed.

Here is the tool i use to scrape (happy daddy grindson).

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
.................................................
The Crafty and Mighty both have a very effective (for its small size) cooling unit that gives a longer vapor path.
Like @Volteric said, "a circuitous path of soothing whispers". The vapor flows thru the passageways which have "webbing" for extra cooling surface area internally and external fins to help cool the unit. No electricity, no water, no freezer.

Are the passageways of the Crafty's cooling unit all-plastic?

Edit: Ah, posted my question before seeing the photo above. Never mind.

it is not a plastic! this is a composite material. who knows what it is exactly made of. some nice and smooth German witchcraft shitt for sure. what matters is that all reviews and feedbacks say that Crafty/Mighty cooler material doesn't affect a taste of your herb at all. so yeah, in 21st century not all plastics actually are a plastics.

The plastic/composite material does not affect the taste. I hate plastic in general but the crafty and mighty are the only exception.

To be 100% honest the first ever use, I could taste a very very faint plastic, but after the first use it never tasted like plastic ever again.

And if you don't like the feel/tact of plastic on your lips, then there is the easyflow glass mouthpiece mod that can be bought online. It works like the original plastic and swivels like the original too. (Nothing wrong with the original, just my preference)

I don't taste the c/u material either. If a lot of resin builds up inside it, the taste of that comes thru a bit in a long session, but doesn't annoy me as much as it does some folks. Easier pickin's of the reclaim in there!
I think the Crafty/Mighty are a little more fragile (brittle) than they appear. I treat them almost like glass, to keep from popping cooling fins off, or worse!.

Disagree completely, it's extremely thick glass and I've actually dropped mine a few times with no issue.

It doesn't have much weight to it either so it reduces the impact (your thinking bongs and bubblers) this weighs nothing.

Furthermore when it's folded in, it is not exposed much either. A ridge on the cooling unit on one side protects it mostly. Trust me, It's not fragile... But each to their own, it's served me well on the go for quite some time now. Like I said nothing wrong with the stock though.

does that glass piece improve a taste by much? or is that vapor even cooler because of glass?

So this is all I need right? Has any tried the liquid pads they sell also for oil use?

Thanks

Yep that's all you need, and the stock grasshopper silicone sleeve to make a better seal (as confirmed by @Volteric).

Yeah I use the liquid pads... But they are meant for the crafty/Mighty... Don't know that they would be much use for the grasshopper.

Doesn't improve taste by much, not much cooler either.

I just love the feel/tact of glass in my mouth over plastic.
The best analogy I can give is, I HATE drinking from plastic cups. It's the same fluid, but it feels tacky on your lips and almost feels like it's imparting a taste (but it's not).
Same thing with this... Nothing huge, just preference.

I haven't be watching this thread too closely lately because I am still have a long time before I will get a grasshopper.

I did read people trying to get funnels made and making the hopper easier to pack.

Here is a grinder that might be the perfect grinder and fill tool for the hopper.
I talked to the maker and it should be available within a few months to the public.

Here is a link to the "chewy" grinder. "If it has been posted already I apologize."
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/chewy-herb-grinder--2#/

I am hoping to get one very soon before its release so I can do a video and show you all how it works.

Here is a quick video I snagged off YouTube.

It's magnificent, i absolutely want one of this grinder.

I will be surely emailing GH to assure that they won't dare send me a unit with a hot back end or failure in any other aspect... I will settle for nothing less than a perfectly performing unit that lasts and lasts. 100% quality control out the door or I'll broadcast loud & clear everywhere! That said, I'm optimistic...
Yes, because they're totally trying to send you a broken grasshopper. I hope you realize how much of a jerk you sound like in that comment.

Funnels and tools... what about a folded business card?

I know. Or your hands. All you need is a little pinch. I just fill up a little plastic container that I used to keep my wax in with herb and just take a little pinch out when I need it. Works like a charm.

It burns the crap out of my mouth on 5 I don't think I got a cold unit. I can definitely get clouds that's not the problem, it's just the quality of the vapor is not as smooth as my other vapes.

Look at the size of the vapor path and the strength of the heater. This thing is made for quick, big rips. If you want really smooth vapor you gotta run it through a waterpipe or use it on a lower setting and take really long, slow rips. If you don't it's not going to be as smooth just because it's a short vapor path and the vapor WILL be hot.

Edit: Never called anyone a name, I just said that mean spirited comments make people look like jerks.

Ok, so I tested again with the Crafty cooling unit. I recommend tilting the CU toward you downward a bit for a better seal. The vapor is ridiculously cooler. It's almost like a toke from the Crafty. I'd say so much so that I'll probably never use the crafty body ever again. Why? I also carried the CU in my left pocket and the GH in my right. Super duper stealth and easily forgotten in your pockets. Somebody else confirm this so I know I'm not delusional. :mental:

I so wish I could! As I sit here sucking on my Crafty, I really want my GH(s) to try this

I promise I'm not making things up but for whatever reason using the cooling unit with GH is ripping me more than normal. I'm surmising that I'm getting more vapor only because there truly does appear to be more per toke. Maybe it's best to not question what the gods have gifted.
