Has anyone had their GH engraved? I wonder what it looks like to have something engraved into a colored TI. I am just curious and will not do it myself, since I ordered SS. Also I have no idea what to write. A vaping slogan? Fuck combustion?

Ah, I see now.

Laser engraving could be quite effective I think, no way I'd risk going near it with my dremel though lol. Something so precisely engineered needs a little consistency I think.

If I were to do it I think I would go with some sort of geometric design like a band of polygonal mesh or something. Would look quite nice in a 'grip' position I think.

I imagine a 'Floral" ;) design could be appropriate too. A collage of elements would help avoid the trap of looking cliche or stereotypical.

I'm on a tablet, have only ever looked at the site in a tablet, and I've been "in progress" since forever. I also have an estimated ship date of October. Some people still have September- obviously this is not a high priority for GHL.
But, you know, they are working on updating their website, it'll probably be done any month now.

Well, I did some burnoffs then took two beautiful hits before my brand new Hopper died. It's got the alternating red/blue lights when I try to turn it on...I tried my second battery, but no difference.

:(

EDIT: got an email out to trevor@grasshoppervape.com and caroline@grasshoppervape.com.

EDIT2: It's such a shame, because from the small use I was able to get out of it, I could tell that this thing is a damn good vape. I was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones (cough @Just Justin and @slcbdco cough).

EDIT3: The dial on the backend, which was tough to turn in the first place, has now become stuck between 3-3.5. :(

The serial number is 8xx, for those watching at home.

EDIT4: I got it unstuck but it takes a lot of force to turn it now.

EDIT5: After doing a quick iso-qtip clean in preparation of sending it back, I decided to try turning it on one more time and IT WORKED...for one more cycle, before flashing the red-blue lights at me once again...

Aw man! Wish you a speedy turn around. Was yours made from the new parts? If so this looks like a big uh oh

Unsure. I would assume so, as I only received my address confirmation on Nov 4, but I can't say with certainty.

So the trick for getting a flawlessly working hopper is don't post here or on reddit? :hmm: I mean, based on the math of course.

But then we have the outliers, like Just Justin, vaporizerwizard, and slcdbco.

EDIT: Well, I left it to sit for 10 or so minutes and now it's WORKING again. I quickly did 3 or so cycles with an empty chamber, and none of them red-blue ringed. So confused! :bang:

EDIT2: And back to the red-blue ring again.

hm, ok, so I had one of the first titanium hoppers from the indiegogo campain.
It still works perfectly and it is still my favorite vaporizer ever. I use it multiple times
a day, charge it multiple times a day with no problems.
I did have a hot backend wich was replaced, but it still worked with that hot backend.
I am amazed that I still see the "dreaded" red blue lights and people sending their hopper back without
anybody saying "oh no, no worries, it was nothing"
I have that "issue" every now and then, it happens when you don't push the button fast enough.
If you click it of again and try again, but faster, it will work. I literally had the blue/red lights more than 30, 40 times, always solved it with trying again faster.
Also, I had to turn into the hulk each time I had to turn the temp knob on the hopper in the beginning, with the new back end, after awhile it got better.
Hope this helps anyone.
Back to hopping...

Maybe the hopper works better at higher elevation? Seems they work well in CO, but not so much elsewhere? I'll have to report back after mine arrives and receives some testing.

I'm curious about shipping the batteries charged. I was always under the impression it was recommended to ship batteries 1/2 charge. Could this be adding to the issues?

New parts sure don't seem to be helping with failure rates. Failing left and right on reddit and here.

I think it's safe to assume people with the lights of doom have tried a whole lot more than just clicking their hopper off and on again in an attempt to get it working before sending back. These failures aren't being made up they're actually happening and it is a massive problem.

You just happened to get extremely lucky (after your replacement back end of course.)

@TheWhisper - somebody said they had immediate problems, sent theirs back and were told it was the charger. Can I ask how you're charging yours? How many amps & volts is your power supply?

http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Friendly-Charger-Packaging-Black/dp/B007TO220Q is the adapter I generally use. From the Q&A section, people say 5.1V/750mA.

I've also tried with each of the batteries I received, and neither one seems to make a difference in whether it'll work or not.

actually the Q & A section says "750ma for both ports combined" and that it's "craptastic" and "too slow" to be of any use to a modern smart phone.
did you try a different charging brick with a higher amperage?

I've never had any trouble charging my phone (LG G3) on it, so I can't comment as to whether it's "too slow". I don't think I have other bricks, but I'll look around.

EDIT: One thing is that from the first time I tried charging it to now, it's always flashed red-blue-red-red when charging, and not just a blinking red like it shows in the manual.

I would tend to agree here. I think you need one with a higher amperage. I use an Xtar USB Battery charger to charge my 18650s and this requires a usb adaptor with 2.1 A output. I use my iPad charger.

Do you have a suitable external battery charger you could try the GH batts in?
