We got a few parts back from the machinist today, namely the Grasshopper Body extension tube.
Still waiting on a few more pieces and a slight modification to this piece, the first circuit boards to come back and we should have a few options together after the new year for both wall power and external 18650 Grasshopper mods.
Outstanding!! And done in a matter of months. We got a few parts back from the machinist today, namely the Grasshopper Body extension tube.

I love that grasshopper is communicating with this thread, keep up the updates good and bad we really appreciate it!
we are manufacturing a "dummy battery" and body extension tube for the grasshopper.
These pieces will allow users to use an external power source with their grasshopper without modification to the hopper itself.
I too am a bit curious about how much something like this will cost. I didn’t notice an on/off switch and wonder how power will be controlled in this fashion. It will be interesting to see when the first units roll off into users’s hand compared to when HL will get their next shipment of batteries.you got any ballpark figure...? And what's your paypal address?
It would appear that on/off and temp control would still be thru the backend dial of the Hopper, it just gets energy from a different source than this proprietary battery. I would hope for a simple connector to a box mod, like a male 510 "plug". Would not necessarily have to cost a fortune...I didn’t notice an on/off switch and wonder how power will be controlled in this fashion.
You’re right. The image cuts off the on/off button a bit but if you select the image (which I didn’t do initially) it opens in a browser that shows the button and temp dial.
