I did, and they said it’s the clip contacting the body
The marks are hardly noticeable on an older SS I have, a bit more noticeable on the Ti and on a Green Ti, which is a light color, the marks happened quickest and are the most visible. Overall, I've come to like the way the SS shell has worn in, smooth to the touch and very smooth threads.
The Green Ti, btw probably has V4 internals, got it in July '18, and it's been delightful.
The plain Ti will is currently attending Reform School, long term.
The SS will go on for every session, but only with a few certain procedures to cajole it. Once it engages (warms up a bit?), it will behave great, clicking off then back on for each hit with no problem. I am sure the body is the culprit, because with other back ends on it, it does the same thing.
For initially powering on, I only click halfway down and look at what the light is doing. If solid red, that's good, I click the rest of the way and off we go. If cop lights, release the plunger and try again. If straight to blue, release the plunger and try again. If no lights, I hit the Hopper body against a hard object, maybe more than once, and try again. Sometimes I slightly loosen/re-tighten the whole back end and this alone allows clicker to achieve power-on. Keep trying, repeating all the above until it works, and so far, this is still working. It has been months now (version # unknown, but last warranty repair was in Feb '17).
To be sure, I've had several other bodies turn bad and in those cases, ambulance lights (or other faults) mean just that, d.o.a.
