Discontinued The Grasshopper

Old & In the Way
The Mighty is VERY reliable and they have a 3 year warranty.
Mighty and Crafty come with a 2 year warranty. S&B desktops have a 3 year.
I agree that the Mighty is very reliable and that fact alone offsets the Grasshopper's lifetime warranty, for purpose of this comparison. I look forward to the Hopper warranty coming into a meaningful period, but, so far, the device has been plagued with return problems.

I think you are missing my point

With mouth piece not water is is def a session vape

With wpa in a bong you can finish the stem in 2 hits...quicker than a GH even (prob coz smaller chamber)
so it is like an on demand there and you just turn it off straight away
Battery life is heaps longer then too

It depends how you use it

As it is full convection same as GH you can come back and hit it 20 mins later if you want unlike the mighty so it is on demand in that sense

I get what you mean but in practice things are what they are

I think I catch your meaning now. You are right with the WPA I can clear the bowl in 2 or 3 rips from a bong.

Alright, so the new body came in today. And it appears to be a goldilocks! My original body didn't heat enough, the second one I bought incinerated it and then stopped working completely.

This body so far, is perfect. It milks my bong at 5 and the abv comes out looking exactly like it does out of my Mighty. The hits are enormous and wonderful. So for the moment, it appears to be a winner, but we all know that time is the real test here. So I'll make sure to report back if anything happens to this body...

I supposedly have a new body coming in 5-7 days, I sure hope I have as good of luck as you are having so far with the replacement body.

I got my GH 2nd hand from classifieds here
At first it was not so impressive
After cleaning and blowing through body a number of times it is now great and as advertised
I noticed if I change the battery it does not always work and has had every single issue including hot body cool air cop lights etc
I intermittently would have it work well after a clean

I checked if it was different batteries but no

The biggest thing I can see is that if it is clean and blown through the body AND then I have to find the orrect position for the battery/battery cap to be screwed in
A tiny move tightening or loosen could maybe be the change that stops it working

Maybe the battery shorts on something in a certain position?

Anyway, if I had not done all these things at random and played till I found out I was about to send it back in

Now I currently have a great working GH.....only scared to change the battery...lol

I wonder how many others could be fixed with this solutions and if this is the ongoing issue GH has with the bodies?
Possibly some sought of short or somethig

I dont know yet
will let you all know next time I do have to change batteries, for now I have just been charging the same one in body while it is working great...

I had noticed some similar behavior with mine. Is the battery contact on the backend clean? That does sometimes affect the battery and the “position” when you screw it in.

Also, I notice similar variances in heating (with different batteries). After doing some adjusting, the backend fell apart (the first time worked great after I was able to reassemble), the last time, stopped heating at all (even though LEDs on). It may be the backend is starting to misbehave on yours....

So last night I really put the new Hopper body through it's paces. Used it on 5 multiple times through my water pipes, even abv, great clouds, amazing hit. Everything a hopper is supposed to be.

Took it to work with me today, used it on 3.5 during my lunch break, and again big fluffy clouds and awesome hits, exactly what I would expect it to do. The nice difference is here is that this is the first time I have ever used a real working Hoppper and it is outstanding.

I'm getting quite medicated with it, quite fast. Perfect for lunch breaks or times when I can slip away for a few puffs and not have to worry about an entire session with my Mighty.

All in all, good results so far. Will keep everyone posted.

Yeah at this point I'm trying not to think about how much I have spent on mine. I bought the TI and then a spare body just to get it working. Now don't get me wrong, I don't really regret it because it is such an awesome device, but 75 bucks sounds like an amazing deal in comparison. lol

My second hopper that was working after getting it back from the long rma hell and then back AGAIN because it came back running cold has stopped working now. I think it's the body because I tried it with the backend of my other hopper that's awaiting a new body and it still didn't work. At first it went straight to blue but now it won't even go on at all. I think I've had it back for a week or so.

So, I'm back down to no working hoppers AGAIN, but hopefully only until Monday when one new body should be arriving. Hopefully they will do the same for my second one.

I’m sorry to hear that, that’s ridiculous!

Congrats on your positive results. But have in mind that this could be a bit dangerous cause that area below the screen shouldn't get in contact with ISO following the rules of HL? Also, it could impact your warranty IMTR.

I have tried many cleaning methods that were mentioned here, besides soaking with iso or any iso in the chamber.

There was no change whatsoever. Now it seems that the front end gets super hot, minimum vapor and green abv. The beckend gets a little hot sometimes ( hopefully it didn’t get fucked as well )

I hope the new body part I ordered with 2 new batteries will fix all issues. Will update as well.

IMTR = I mean to remember ;)

Don't want to search for atm but terms of warranty say that you don't have to soak the area above the air intakes. Guess bc some people don't let it correctly dry after doing that and therefore shortens can happen.

on cleaning day I will soak the tip as you cant get a cotton tip in there....if you take all the cotton of the end the qtip u can stick tht in tho it comes out dark

The PFE will help this I am sure
The PFE is way more easy to clean but the screen gets clogged a lot faster, I clean it almost every day when I use the PFE. I clean the normal mouthpiece every few weeks.

Just to try to be completely fair...my OG Ti Bronze GH worked wonderfully for 18 months before giving up the ghost. Run it all day long at 4.2 on the temp dial and get beautiful and even AVB without ever a hint of combustion even at 5 on the temp.

Now, I'm not going to go over the various cock-ups for the RMA, posted that earlier and its not new news (LOL).

My two GH do now work....but not as strongly as before the repair and if put on level 5 I get flickering blue when hitting (if just a tad lower than 5, the blinking goes away...go figure). AVB...meh. Yes, I can extract with it but is it as strong of an extractor as prior....no, it is not.

So, here is my question....how the frak can Hopper be claiming to have improved their test lab capability yet still be putting out GH and repairs with inconsistent heating performance? How does that happen?

We have some people with combustion, some people with cold running GHs, and some that's just right (sounds like Goldilocks, eh? sigh).

The product is either not testable sufficient to ensure consistent performance or they are just fucking it up.

I don't know which but either is rather sad at this point.

I used to have complete confidence in my GH but no longer feel that way. Yeah, it works but...not like before.

Cheers

Hi, Baron.... I've been off FC for a while; but since mid-May I've had an RMA going on for one of my Ti's.
Each month I email them to say "I own two (actually, 3) hoppers and you have one in for repair and now the one I have is crapping out intermittently....", etc, and each reply is, "oh, sorry, we'll try and get your RMA back ASAP....".... blablabla

Peeking on FC, trying to make sense of WTF is going on at HL through browsing here, it's pretty futile, but your post pretty much sums it up.

I have one plain Ti that combusts at T4, but, it works so I take that as a plus. My Grey Ti is weak, but also "works"... and then there's the RMA. For a brief time I had all three running, with one that was the Goldilocks unit.... that's the one that the clicker crapped out on.

So, your post seems to sum it all up for me... especially the part about it is being rather sad at this point. Just plain fucking sad.

Cheers

One Ti, one SS, one spare body. None usable.

SS on 6 months in RMA, Ti was RMAed (6 months in RMA lockup - total number RMAs on it 11 times now) but now backend broken (2 weeks and counting for the “one week” repair and return), and spare body with no backend is futile. I think they hope we’ll all stick around long enough to spend more money with them, but all it’s made me do is go buy another vape that isn’t a grasshopper. And recommend anyone thinking about buying a GH run away fast.

So much potential. Such poor execution.

Ah man, that just sucks. Keep banging on them as IMO 90 days is WAY longer than it should take to fix your Ti unit.

I'm sorry, but I have no advise for you beyond that and wow, Hopper Labs had it in the palm of their hand and are just fucking it up by the numbers. Well, IMO of course! LOL

I'm just in shock that they felt the need to just ignore my nice letter to them. I feel I was very reasonable, and did not even get a response.

In my opinion, I'm done with Hopper Labs. I'll keep on tabs here, and let you know my progress, but I will not spend another cent with them. It's bad enough they corralled me into buying new batteries.

And, if anyone I know asks me about the hopper, the truth is simple. It's the best, but it doesn't work. Don't waste your time. Go for something else.

It actually pains me to say that, but I mean, the level of customer service they have provided me is awful.

I don't want to jinx it, but I got a new body for my hopper that was incinerating and it's working supremely. It still amazes me how great these work when they aren't broken. At 5 the clouds are AMAZING and I can't believe how much farther a little herb goes with it. The hopper saves me so much money on herb, too bad it's cost me so much on shipping it back and forth to HL so often. Thankfully I'm only in WA so it's not too bad.

It's so frustrating when they break down, but they are soooo satisfying when they are working like they should.

Woah gh landed today and fuckkk. I see why everyone is so butt hurt about this vape. It's so good that you want it to never break. Going to get some new glass tomorrow at a shop locally and then I can give my full feedback but damn, gh got me so baked earlier. Got some cherry crush and some darth maul og :) super yummy the whole way through the bowl. I am using it native with orings on the pfe :) no heat at all on my lips and just pure hot vapor haha. It's given since it's such a short airpath from the heater. Crazy how fast it heats up and how much tasty vapor you can get. Fuck now I hope I got lucky with this one
