A styles pen cap would be a cool aftermarket accessoryThere are at least a couple others out there - you'll probably see posts trickle here this week. If any other FC users get their units step up!
I'm working right now but just playing with this in my hand as it feels nice - I do wish it could actually write/function as a pen however...
Maybe someone could create one of those "inkless" metal pen nubs as a tip so it could write? That would be pretty neat...
@midgetsanchez @BuzzDanklin
Good question raised on reddit I haven't seen the answer to. Do you have to press the button once or twice after auto-shutoff to turn it back on?
Oh damn, I forgot about that. I remember being surprised in the video when buzz clicked it twice. I assumed it would be single click on/off like a pen.
So if I start a GH Bitch Fest thread and everyone comes and piles on, that would be a workable solution?
Just a hypothetical, I'm not really in the mood for it....
I wish it was possible to know more about the way the Grasshopper works. I'm not technically inclined enough to really understand it, I'm sure, but. The way it transmits electronic signals, without wires, through the body of the vape...I've never heard of anything that did that before. I'm really curious about it, isn't that supposedly part of what is supposed to make it so durable and cheap?
Grasshopper was waiting for me when I got home, stainless case was not in the package - will have to follow up with trevor on that.
First impression - feels nice and substantial, well machined although i can already some slight imperfections from the factory. Buzz alluded to the fact that the finish was not all that durable and his was fairly scratched up after some moderate use. Jury is still out but I can definitely see that being the case.
I popped in the battery and did a dry hit at the half way mark - I could taste that new vape electronic flavor immediately. I went ahead and turned the heat all the way up and gently blew through the air intake holes (where the led lights are) sure enough a decent sized cloud emerged. Not wanting to subject my lungs to that I am currently doing burn ins. I've cycled it about 15 times already and while the cloud is much less visible it's still there... To be honest i think this is fairly typical of new vapes I've certainly experienced it with my Davince Ascent and N02, so I am not TOO concerned but more of a heads up to future users not to immediately load it up and start going to town..
will keep everyone posted

It does seem so amazing that they figured out how to make something as powerful as the Mighty which is probably considered to be the most heavy duty portable vape out there in such a small package. Potentially even more powerful, since we know the heater maxes out at 45 watts and I've never heard what the Crafty or Mighty max at.Good topic, the way I understand it, the fewer actual parts, i.e. no wiring, means much less to wear down over time, hence added durability.
While I think that's impressive, I am personally more interested in the 3d printed heater and the miniaturization of something so powerful. I am imagining that it forces air through a heated pathway, likely with the airpath narrowing to create a "venturi" effect and increase the speed to achieve target heat as well as produce it on demand with little drop off during inhalation. This has been done before but I don't think at such a small scale. It's shape may be very specific and proprietary.
There's also the custom designed battery.

There's definitely some wires they can be seen through the intake holesI wish it was possible to know more about the way the Grasshopper works. That seems almost impossibly efficient to me, are there really any other vapes that even get within 10 seconds of that? The only one I know of is the Lotus and perhaps other flame vapes that I haven't heard of.
"Technical Details - Simplicity Through DesignMy Daisy and Lily torch vapes are near instant as well, can meet or maybe even beat the GH speed, it's a great feature tbh. Zero warmup time unlike most vapes. I predict in the future all vaporizers will be instant on.
I'm surprised about the wires as well, I thought there were none or virtually none, but maybe it's minimal, you can really see them?

This allows us to build Grasshopper with no wires.
As far as battery powered convection?....Elevape, it's inhalation activated (full temp in 1-2 sec), not sure how much power the coil uses though. Are there really any other vapes that even get within 10 seconds of that?
