Keep in mind that PIU is a customer too, and they may have put in for an order themselves right before GHL upgraded their facilities. So, they may not actually have cut any hypothetical line.
They're a retailer, not a customer. And there's no way that they could've completed and tested enough stock for PIU to still be in stock in the incredibly short period of time between when they "finished upgrading the lab" and PIU received their stock. They DEFINITELY didn't order before the possibly hundreds of people who have their hoppers sitting in warranty service right now.

Retailers are customers too.

I love PIU, don't get me wrong - they are my favourite retailer of all, but helping is going to mean "file an RMA with HL". What else?

I just don't see how ANYONE could say that they have a lot of confidence in this device. It's been nearly 3 years.

Don't think people want to lose hope, the device is small and powerfull, perfect for bong rips... we don't have so many other alternative for small fast extraction devices.. the competitions is lacking here otherwise i think this story would have taken another course.

By now we all really know that nothing about Hopperlabs can be trusted neither their product or information being sent out.

So we can either stick around and wait and take what we get or sell our devices and wait for future upgrades or alternatives.

Don't think they even care about the bitching we do in this thread, otherwise they would atleast replied to some of our concerns or feedback.

Yup, that's well put. Their reliability, their communication - uhm- "skills", their business policies, would've have kicked them off the market long ago if their product wasn't that unique. If anyone needs to rely on their vape, like for medical reasons, I don't get how such a person would buy a Hopper. There's plenty of super reliable units on the market.

Olivia replied to my question about when my unit would ship:

Olivia said:
Hi There,

We are still catching up on our shipping queue from our recent lab upgrade. Due to our variable sized production batches of Grasshoppers, I cannot offer you a concrete date for shipping. We have just doubled our production batch size as of today, so it should be picking up here shortly.

Kind regards, and thank you for your patience,

Olivia

I emailed Olivia regarding the case and charger and my three hoppers I sent in for a warranty

"Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, the Stainless Steel Case is still delayed until April. Due to our variable sized production batches, I am unable to offer a concrete date for the return of your Grasshoppers, my apologies.

Kind regards,

Olivia"

so no mention if the charger is also delayed?

I replied

"Hey Olivia

thanks for getting back to me. Is the charger also delayed? I was wondering if I can also get the charger stocked up with batteries courtesy of you guys due to the fact I was supposed to take delivery of the charger and case in december2017?"

I'm not optimistic about getting the bats, but if you don't ask you don't get

will keep you posted

The other day I posted this:

So I got nothing good to say.

So new customers come before Warranty services I suppose.

Sent mine in mid-December.

And, asking about He order for 2 Ti’s I placed during the coupon offer:

Hi Joe,

My apologies, your order is still in queue to ship. With our variable production batch sizes I cannot offer a concrete date for when it will ship. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

kind regards,
Olivia

:ugh:

So then this happened today.

Methinks Warranties are taking a backseat to new product shipments.

Truth.

I agree, always ask. People who don’t open their mouths get nothing.

Well I tried to warn everyone.. Just because you sell halloween candy with your vapes doesn't mean that everything you do/say is legit. Shame on Randy and Puffitup. They also lied directly to me after I asked them about the legitimacy of their Hopper stock claiming it was the latest batch. Trust me, I would be the most vexed out of the group here if Hopper sold any wholesale orders prior to us getting our units fixed and what we paid and have been waiting on for months/years.

This guy's always got your back ;)

Just because a unit failed doesn't mean PIU is lying about having the most up to date units. It's much more likely that the unreliable Grasshopper continues to be unreliable than the incredibly reliable vape seller suddenly becoming unreliable. Not sure what your problem is with PIU but you really need to chill out. I trust the guy who ships out same day and works with every customer I've ever heard of to make them happy rather than Trevor from HL who has lied about literally dozens of deadlines over the past 3 years of dealing with him.

Edit: And to whover it was saying PIU wouldn't have to worry about customers contacting them due to failed units because the warranty is through HL - you couldn't have been more wrong lol. Literally one of the first 8 hoppers they sold arrived DOA and PIU being the awesome company they are and probably wanting to uphold their rep is allowing the customer to return the unit directly to them instead of waiting multiple months for HL.

That's pretty dope of PIU to give a full money back refund though. I've experienced that level of CS from them myself!

As for the "latest batch", it wouldn't even surprise me if that's what HL told Randy. PIU doesn't have like 100 pages of customer service praise for no reason.

I wonder if his "confidence" in the device has changed?

sure PIU has great customer service.. but being a manufacturer is a whole different ball game. Especially when being run by a small team/company.

The only issue is PIU didn't receive these Hoppers from HL.

@Cheesequake not sure how you can lie about ESTIMATED deadlines, but read it how you want.

Cheers

Here's how. You say it's going to be a couple weeks then don't ship what you're supposed to for multiple months. That wasn't a one time occurrence, the same "estimate" was given over and over to multiple people dozens of times. Being off on a 2 week estimate would be a few days to a week. Not multiple months multiple times. That is lying with the fallback of "it was just an estimate" in place for when you are called out on it.

If you want to give the company that has been so terribly wrong on their "estimates" over and over and over and over and over again the benefit of the doubt while bad mouthing the company who has NEVER been anything but honest and accommodating then by all means go ahead but you're going to look pretty silly to anyone who knows anything about both companies track records.

IMO don’t buy accessories until they are actually available to buy. This idea of buying things before they are available so the company can use your money isn’t something I usually do unless is something being made like a wooden vaporizer or wooden stem. Especially with a company that doesn’t follow through on promises like GH. I was hoping they hadn’t over promised....again.:2c:

Read PIU's response to the OP midway down the page. Nothing against PIU as they're making things right like they usually do. But how could I not be upset for them initially telling me otherwise.

Woah, full refund to all customers, that's amazing. In fairness to PIU, it sounds to me like they thought they were getting the new stock and just realised they actually didn't. Which is good news as far as new version reliability: we've gone from 1/9 (8 PIU hoppers + @Jayd0g420's) new known hoppers not working properly on arrival, to 0/1. 100% success rate.

Ha, I'm such an optimist :)

Sorry you're sick, rest up @Hjalmark! The gist is that PIU started selling a few Grasshoppers recently, which were believed to be the first of the new stock since the HL retooling. One of the 8 sent out wasn't working properly, and then PIU said that they probably weren't from the new batch after all, and offered refunds to those people (while letting them keep their hoppers). So they'll be happy.

Other than that, people are anxiously awaiting their new and repaired hoppers being returned, which looks like it should happen soon. And then we get to see how the reliability and performance have changed. Which will be exciting.
