Any best practices to share for use when outside? I've yet to get any vape to work well outside (Pax, Pn Pro, Hopper).

Seems that even with the Hopper on 4 I struggled to get hits today (and other times). Light load, fine grind, no luck.

Are you sure it just doesn't feel like you're not getting clouds because the outside air makes it hard to see the vapor? As opposed to being inside and the air is not moving as rapidly allowing you to see the vapor? I haven't had any problems using mine outside. I even take off the mouthpiece and check the oven to see if I actually vaporized the herb.

@nikcorda Not a "fanboy", and I caught everything said in Vape Critics review, but maybe something is wrong with your GH and his. While I agree with you that the taste on the GH gets bad on temperature 5, I haven't had any issues with mine burning me at all. One of the reasons the taste gets bad is because it's at 410 degrees, and it extracts so quickly that the taste doesn't last. I still think it's better than most conduction vapes I've tried at the same temperature.

Try 4.25? It should work the same inside and outside, unless you have crazy cold weather.

Just wanted to chime in on the GH vs. FF2, got my FF2 last week and have enjoyed it.

Too be honest this pair is perfect together. The FF2 for home with using the GH thru water right before bed and the GH for on-the-go. If you go to a friends house or have friends over it is fun to have both of these moving around. Instant vape at home and on the go at all times, gotta love technology!!!

Granted, I don't have a grasshopper, but what is the point of a super elite, super stealthy unit, if the purpose is hitting it with a water pipe?

I get using portables at home (all I own is a portable), but then something like this seems perfect for out and about use. I bite pens all the time, lol, so it'd be easy to hide.

Honestly, I'm not knocking it if it works, but just seems odd to me

I don't have mine yet either, but the appeal to me is that it is the "ultimate" stealth device for out and about but also, apparently, can be a great engine for powering a not-at-all-stealthy water rig in the home.

hi there: Sounds like you've got a nice lineup at your fingertips. If the FF2 didn't require the a smart phone app to access all its functionality, I would be VASing for it pretty heavily as a companion to the GH.

ya, i wonder why they did not offer a second way of doing it, with button taps and such. Maybe they will figure something out.

One thing I have to say about the GH - the fact that it gets too hot to use sans condom is a pretty big f-ck up in my opinion. Even at 4 it gets unbearably hot, I am sure at 5 after the first draw you would not be able to put your mouth on it.

I can vape a whole bowl on temp five no problem and no condom. Wrap your hand around the tip between draws and unless you have the most sensitive lips ever it should be fine.

You mean your lips are not touching the metal? Either way it is too hot, you should not have to do tricks. I would get in the GH2 they will make the vapor travel a tad further or figure something out.

Vape Critic's Grasshopper Review:

Here you go gang. I know it's a replay from last October but after this shitty review I thought I would save you all 17min off of that painful watch to show you a good review with just plain good music to get you happy!. Fist let me say Vape Critic, you just lost a fan. Do be pissed off when taping first off. If you praise the FF2 for double the price it leads me to believe that you have be "taken care of". You get the same taste and vapor quality with convection no mater what the unit. The user has complete control. T1, Minivap, GH, FF, Milanna. Anyway, venting done. (By the way, this vapor was "sunlight enhanced".

That's why I think GH and Milaana is an awesome pair, automatic digital stealthy supersportable and manual analog power portable, both pure on demand convection. What a time to be alive and fucking combustion

The vape critic mention you should use a water device with the GH. A lot of videos do show a lot of users using a water device to cool the vapor down. Vapefiend does iit in his vids. One point I kind of agree with is the silicone mouth piece does get dirty and it does look gross, think of a smokers teeth. As far as I can tell since Im still waiting on mine. Vape critic does seem off in this vid, he dropped the GH out of the box. He did not mention any issue with the hopper, je did not mention its lifetime warranty and if he needed to use it.

I disagree, with the FF2 because of the long vapor path you get a cool tasty hit. With the GH you get a warm/hot thicker cloud that can still taste good but the taste for me is much different.
When the temp on the hopper is set lower (yes there is a low end to the temp spectrum on this device) the taste is every bit as cool and tasty as the ff. I can use it without the condom on 5 and still get a cool tasty hit just quicker because of my mastery of the power button. Click it off and coast residual heat (like the Mi) plus this makes my hit count like 25 not 12 per battery. Usually 5 bowls. Neither is better but totally different imho.

now on settings below 4 i can use it dry, no silicone mouthpiece, no issues at all. but you dont get big thick clouds either. still works, but i love those big clouds it can produce with a short whip or water piece.

i will say that flavor and efficiency of herbs used are amazing. im not a fan of flavor on temp 5, it gets kind nasty towards the end, i usually stop at 4.6 or so. and those of you who are not hopper fanboys will note that vape critic mentioned these two benefits in the review as well. nobody caught that?

also, the vape critic did mention that the heat issue was only at the top of the heat range, above 3.8 or so, nobody else caught that either?

i disagree with him about the stealth factor. i get it. the clip is cheap as f*ck but whatever, it looks exactly like a pen and i enjoy that stealthiness.

this is all for flower, concentrates are a different ball game, and i dont have much experience there yet. but i tried a little shatter wrapped in cotton, on temp 5 through a water piece, and its works very very well.

EDIT: my solution to the issues, carry a small whip or water pnwt type device. i dont mind, and it makes the hopper completely useable for me

all just my .02, not worth a damn, ymmv :peace: :leaf:

Great post!

It's not that people didn't catch his benefits of the Grasshopper, but it's moreso the way he presented the negative and the positive parts of the Grasshopper. He takes probably a third of a time briefly explaining the benefits of the Grasshopper, and then goes into another long-winded explanation of the negatives. Talking about the negatives is fine if you explain yourself, rather than just throw out ill-formed opinions.

I personally don't watch a lot of vape reviews since I prefer FC's opinions way more, so maybe other vape reviewers are like that as well. But I really disliked the way he talked in absolutes, stuff like "you can't use it about this temperature, it's way too hot".

I agree it's not perfect, but honestly the way it's designed to look like a pen I don't think there's anyway around the big flaws (hot mouthpiece, heat). I think once GH Labs starts developing a second vape, it'll be designed to look more like a vape and alleviate the GH's main issues.

Have had my SS from VF for six weeks now. It's still blowing my mind. Even though it's mainly kept on 4 (native) and 5 (do20-d), the vapor doesn't bother me one bit. Long story short, I have nothing but love for the hopper.

I used it this weekend to:
-assist in the late night cruise while listening to Skepta's "Konnichiwa" front to back.
-help me stay positive and energetic as I found my way back from the middle of an empty and intricate park.
-be my guide on the 2am taco run.
-shoot me into the clouds while I grooved at the roller rink.

Also...I keep it low-key when using it in public, but I just wanted to say that i have yet attract any unwanted attention. I still enjoy smoking, but this will continue to be my ride or die for when I'm on the go. The hits I get off this are sexy. THE GRASSHOPPA PLAYS NO GAMES. :D

Thank you.
The Vape Critic seemed to be on drugs or something.
Fumbled with the hopper, dropped it (twice?). Rambled on boring me for about 4x longer than necessary.
I believe he should have scrapped this review and done another take.
His 'unboxing' and the attitude about 'not much in the box' made me wonder what he's expecting to be in there? why the long face?
My main disappointment is in the length and relative lack of actual information. His disappointment could have been expressed so much more efficiently.
It's easy to criticize the critic, I suppose. But this was a big waste of time. I won't accuse directly, but this lackadaisical attitude caused me to wonder if the guy might be unhappy that he didn't get an earlier (free) try at the Hopper.
btw @ShayWhiteGrow , I think you meant to write, "Don't be pissed off when taping...". And, is that Hopper from last fall still going strong?

Looking for interesting people and vapes
Finally got my hopper at a cannabis expo, but 4 days it worked well, yesterday it dies the temp sensor death. Blue/Red light flashing, time for return to dealer :( but lifetime warranty and replacing within 48h is a pretty good service from my salesman.. hope to have a hopper without issues soon (was a SN within the 2700s)

It's the ergonomics, along with the portability that make it ideal for water pipes.

This is the EQ, it's tethered to the wall, has tripping hazards, is totally cumbersome.
It will also burn you properly given the chance.

Hopper speaks for itself!

If you go to a friends house or have friends over it is fun to have both of these moving around. Instant vape at home and on the go at all times, gotta love technology!!!

I also just got a FF2 and agree they make great companions for at home or on the go.

It's not that the FF2 isn't portable, it's very pocketable actually, just on the go, the GH is easier to deal with.

For example, and perhaps is just new toy phase but where the GH "needs" to be cleaned, in other words, so clogged that function suffers almost never, where I find I have to clean the FF2 almost everyday, it's not hard to clean but it's often.

So with that, if I'm going out and going to be with people where no one else has a grasshopper I would bring FF2 since it's easier to share and the battery lasts longer in a group setting. Also the FF2 bowl holds more than the amount I like to use in the GH (I use TINY amounts in the GH) so there is flavor longer for a group setting, the flavor being the FF2's strong suit.

The GH is stronger in my opinion in every category except battery life. I actually prefer the GH vapor quality, there's something more satisfying that I have yet to put my finger on precisely and there's a probably a number of reasons. The FF2 has excellent vapor and again there might be a technique issue but GH gives more satisfying cloud production.

As for the heat of the mouthpiece and vapor both are fine for me. I've used low and high temps for flower as well as concentrated in both. The cotton technique works excellent for the GH btw. Both are excellent. I never use the moutpeice and rarely use glass and when I do share the GH it's rare that someone complains about heat, if they do its only the first few times. The more typical reaction is people want one, particularly non-vaporists.

I'm really glad I have both vapes but if I only had one it would be the grasshopper for sure based on easier to use and greater versatility. And for a group setting of the options are we can all share a firefly or everyone has their own hopper, I would prefer everyone had a hopper! #FeelTheBern
