Discontinued The Grasshopper

You may want to check out the boundless cf or cfx. Not convection (may have some, though) but not expensive and people seem to love them.
I checked out the first pages until smokey finally got his...i only read a bit further., but that was enough of me. Not the right vibe..and customer service is not tested. Looked like a promising and cheaper mighty.. but convection I've found is not my favourite cup of tea for the style and way I am smoking-works good for pizzas or concentrates that need heat build up..

I just received the go-ahead to send the hopper back without its battery.

The silver lining to this predicament is one more nights use with it, and I've finally connected it in stereo with the EQ.
It's pretty awesome and I recommend anyone with the ability to, to try two vapes at once through a bong. Especially two serious cloud machines :science:

I feel for you there and my sympathies man. This was exactly the scenario i was dreading with the real possibility of not even a farewell kiss.
However a few thing have come through in 24 hours since i requested a warranty service from hopper and posted here. They cam back to me right away yesterday, i had written an email and they had written back before i had registered my hopper. As a reminder to you all my problem was with my charger breaking down, thankfully as the batts still had some charge I could see the hopper still worked. They informed that they would give me an answer in the standard manner (3 days) and that I probably would have to send the hopper in too.
However late last night they answered my claim: a new one would be sent and i didn't have to send the charger or my hopper in!:clap:
Im elated of course and further my conviction that this is one of the reasons I decide to risk on buying one and laying down considerably more than they cost. They product delivers, their warranty delivers albeit the actual product take more time. Its not easy to get all this working together and keep your past, present and future promises. A total contrast with the marketing and false claims from other companies. It works.

Late afternoon yesterday ordered a digital readout charge rom amazon and had received by 12 today, and which I ripped open and charged the batts in less than an hour, although to tell the truth i popped one out mid cycle and briefly made sure the hopper was working correctly, and snuck a few :rockon: and put it back in for this evening session, good thing about independent channels..on the charger. I won't be connecting the hoppers charger much anymore, and if i do it will be via a power bank. plus as another user remarked it was neat to read the digital readouts and be able to charge more than one at a time. Although im wondering if at the expense of bulkiness while travelling i should have gotten a charger for 4 instead of 2. truth is its pretty compact as is.

@jamesuk9

so i have averted the crisis but
after mulling it over a bit :hmm:, and with the uneasiness that the next bowl may be the last before a hot backend, lights eat and the next warranty service, and the fact that this vape does exactly what i need- the most reasonable thing to do :sherlock: may have to buy a titanium hopper to back up and compliment my ss, and leave me at ease. :rofl: Over time and research and maybe by christmas i can experiment with some others mentioned by the good, savvy, and unbiased folk here.:tup:
Hopefully the german vapeshop still has them as they mentioned they showing at a :leaf: festival over the weekend. and they might not have any left by monday... :bang:

Don't want to be smug but....Ahh the weekend is looking good fellow hoppers! :peace:

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Wow had not considered these..i will check if i can get them..but i thought the milaana and zion were new and backordered? are they all pure convection?
Yes I am checking out some charger on amazon as we speak, by recommendation of the threads here I'm checking the the nitecore d2 and the xtar vc2, however i noticed that although excellent they don't include a reading for the mAh, which i assume indicated battery life. Im checking if there are any other that do..

Thanks!

@tristanstravels
Dynavap sell to the EU no problem.

I have a Milaana, but I don't think that it's availabe ATM (soon though), and a Vapcap woody.
I HIGHLY recommend both these vapes, and the VC is available without too much of a wait.
I got the VC as a backup to tide me over until the Milaana arrived, but in all honesty they both share centre stage for me now.
I've got a Hopper on order, but in all honesty it's curiosity and sheer bloody-minded determination that keeps me from cancelling the Hopper.
I've lost a lot of the enthusiasm I had for the Hopper now that I have two excellent vapes.
When the Hopper comes (?) and the dust has settled I'll be selling one of the vapes, and unless the hopper has some ASTOUNDING tricks up it's sleeve it will almost certainly be the one to go.

@Copacetic Thanks I am checking them further and have read the forum with your comments and others, who raved about the GH in this forum as well. I haven't tried many vapes. but I had little doubt that GH would be quality paid a bit more, but Im really really happy with it in every way. The negatives are few, I will be very interested to see your reactions and if it becomes your daily go to- id be very surprised if you get rid of it, but if you do I will acquire a milaana.

@jamesuk9
It does, as portable vapes go, nothing gets close. You will not be disappointed. With a bubbler it is sublime. Most efficient vape I've ever used, so good I will be buying another as soon as I can source one in London again.

I agree - But in your case- Why buy another? In case one breaks?

I bought mine off eBay uk for about 235 sterling- considering if i ordered it from colorado it would cost the 180 plus shipping plus customs processing fee + vat- wouldn't be far off that price- plus i had it right away. There is a last one for sale there at 245. sterling (320 euros)- but I've sourced another in Germany for 270 euros shipping and tax included..and they confirmed by email that its in stock-which as we know is unusual... although there salso a crafty on amazon europe for 240 euros- considerably less than usual.

I really don't see the need for anything else but the GH, thats why im considering buying another if mine has to be sent off to boulder.
however once i get it back a second one will be redundant and serve as an expensive (but does what it's designed to do) backup case one breaks? then again don't want toby a vape that doesn't cut it for me, and leave it in the bottom drawer. there are certainly worse dilemmas in any case.

oh well at least the charger is on its way! as i await hopper labs instructions..

Milaana is available from PlanetVape right now btw, international shipping too. Definitely better vapor quality and battery life than GH but not as sleek or stealthy. Both have plenty of huge pros and reasonable cons in my experience (I have SS and Blue Ti Hopper, only a beta Milaana so far, but will get the finalized version soon too). It is like battery powered, automatic digital vs manual analog, both instant pure convection.

Crew Slut...
@tristanstravels I knew I cant be the only person thinking this does what it needs to do for me I had better get another just in case :D

My new charger arrived today, I checked it and put it away for away days only. At home I will continue to charge my 3 batteries externally on rotation from now on and only use the usb charger when I really need to.

Ah found a decent way to cool vapor at upper temps (by which I only mean 350-385 here mind you) draw fast as usual and then open a bit to allow a lot of fresh air in before inhaling fully again and clicking off to finish the hit (which I can now do one handed holding the backing with fingertips and pressing it with my palm... sometimes I click it on with my body too... still don't think that is an ideal power switch at all but it is kinda fun at least lol)

I love the switch once you get used to it. I hold it with my thumb, middle, and ring finger then click it off with my index.

As for the hot vapor I think some people will have a problem and some people will love it. The short air path makes for some of the most potent vapor I've ever come across. I haven't ever had a problem with it on any temp. I can take a dab on temp 5 dry no problem and it's one of the tastiest ways to use concentrates I've come across.

My charger took a shit too. Didn't melt, but when plugged in gets very hot but dies t charge the unit. They are replacing it.
have there been a reports of 'hopper batteries burning or exploding ?

@tristanstravels yes, check out the vapcap as well as the focus. Arizer air is also a solid performer just expect to buy multiple glass parts as they have a tendency to break. Can't go wrong with a ti/wood vapcap as the standard og's will undoubtedly suffer the same eventual fate as Arizer glassware. :)
I never liked the idea of a torch vape before , but the vapcap and especially the omnivap have become my standard vapes .

Mind sharing your preferred dab method?

Never mind, I see your response. Thanks

I'm officially infested! A firefly 2 arrived yesterday. The FF2 is a very different experience than the GH and both are great experiences in their own rite.

One thing that I didn't expect and I suspect is because I came from smoking but while the firefly vapor has excellent flavor, I find the vapor quality of the grasshopper overall more satisfying. Perhaps it's an issue of draw technique in terms of cloud production but there is just something about the vapor qualify of the Grasshoppper that's more satisfying.

Apologies if that was rambling, I've been enjoying both the grasshopper and the firefly this morning so I'm a birdhead, just straight tweetin' myself

I'm glad you posted. I was about to pull the trigger on a firefly to hold me over.

I'll just wait... I'm a June 4th preorder and per Reddit, Hopper Labs just made it to mid March shipping confirmations.

I gave in and purchased a SS GH from Vapefiend before my orders from 12/15 arrive. I have to say it's working out great so far with no issues (about a month). It fit's my heavy usage pattern well. The Delta 3D funnel and stand make it easier to load. Thanks Vapefiend and Delta 3D Studios!

5+ weeks daily driver, Vapefiend SS hopper working great. Starting to get excited again for my Ti preorder. Thinking I might have to get one of those adapters so I can hit both GH's through glass at the same time :rockon:If someone remembers what the glass piece is called or can link to one... I think it's like a kaisen adapter or something?

Started using my Mighty again after neglecting it during my honeymoon with the hopper. Still glad I have both they compliment each other very well. Feeling spoiled!

Edit: Oh yeah one other question. I numbered my batteries with a sharpee, but the ink fades really quickly probably due to the heat. Anyone know of a better marker for this purpose?
