Yeah it sure does, and I have a feeling that things will "loosen" up over time lol.
@slcbdco Birdhead, like I have my head in the clouds? lol
Apologies to Canadians, "Birdhead" in my neck of the woods is a more positive connotation of "stoner". I forgot what that means in Canadian even though I'm an avid TPB fan, its just water under the fridge
@Vapetrees If they are Grasshopper Clouds at the GIM then yes thats exactly what I meant by birdhead
What's the biggest selling factor to choose Ti over SS? (if any)
Looking to cop a GH soon, but need some testimonial to justify the price difference.
If I'm not mistaken it's also much less apt to set off metal detectors. Any scientists out there to confirm or refute this? The biggest difference will be weight and scratch resistance.
Two thoughts about smoking 'on occasion' (nothing personal). I don't even like the thought of inhaling smoke anymore. Call me elitist, but in 3 years I've had 3 joints and regretted it each time based mostly on taste like a firepit, but also on quality of buzz. Apologies; I'm not as comfortable talking about 'levels of high' as I am overall impression and feel. I can describe a vape buzz as far lighter, but no less intense than a combustion buzz. Different. There are so many variables besides 'my perception' in the equation that the little scientist voice in my head kinda stamps his feet and shuts down!
I can relate to strong hits as a description of the Hopper experience. Yeah, if the goods are delivered via express service, happiness will usually follow; sooner and happier. Or sooner and more relaxed. Or sooner and more excited. Or...just more. Longer lasting? Again, that's very subjective and so full of variables...
The feel of a vape buzz is simply different; there are much different chemistry's taking place. We hear over and over in these threads about vaping's 'aquired' taste. The taste of many things are 'aquired', including tobacco and alcohol (who ever has the premium experience as a first-time smoker, cannabis or tobacco?). I am thrilled to have un-aquired the taste and behaviors of combusting both cannabis and tobacco. I do feel fully assimilated into the vaping practice and love the feelings it brings. What more do I need to know? (please don't answer that, I'm enjoying myself too much).
Effect and our behaviors aside, I must say I really, really, really look forward to Hopping - and beyond, cause this is one great part about all this vaping thing; It's such a new and exciting dynamic as the knowledge and tech evolve and methods are refined (and VAS!). For me, appreciation of the vape high has increased as my tools have evolved, and so I won't deny people their excitement and over the Hopper. Still, I don't hold the effect up to that of combusting, just as I wouldn't really compare smoking to alcohol consumption. People used to call drinking 'getting high'?!?!?
Let's also acknowledge that if this were a discussion between medical patients about effect, it would be taking a completely different tone and course.
I guess I'm trying to say that I don't see the point of spending much time (though I just did!) on the comparison because fuck combustion.
Gonna mull this over and see if there's anything I can clarify about what I wrote.Hello; I'm one of those guys in the Vape Lounge waiting on his 1-year-ago ordered Hopper.
In the meanwhile, for the past few years, I've been a Pax user... every day.
I could never smoke joints; they made me high, but also, oddly sick feeling; it was always a heavy experience, foggy-headed and paranoid.
Then one day a friend gave me a hit off of his Volcano; something I'd never seen before. The experience from that was Splendid, with a capital S. A pure, clean, calm high. Two weeks later, the Pax 1 came out, and that was it for me. I became a regular user, medicating daily.
I say all that up front because I'm trying to understand what to expect from the GH. Wouldn't it be closer to a Volcano experience rather than a "smoking" experience??
So, if anyone can clarify these past few posts with respect to the experience of the GH versus the Pax; or, GH versus the Volcano, that would help calibrate my expectations...
I can't wait to be able to contribute here after I receive it!
Thanks, all.

Good day hoppers..Bit of a funny question i happen to put the switch end of my hopper in my mouth ie like when you do that with a pen..i noticed it felt like when you was a kid and stuck your tongue on a 12v battery.. What i'm getting at here is do you think this means the hoppers is still drawing power out of the battery when its turned off?
Actually, it never gets old, reading this stuff. Thanks for the links!Gonna mull this over and see if there's anything I can clarify about what I wrote.
I am reminded of this article and wonder if you've seen it, about what happens at different temps. It provides some basic insight into 'levels' of effect.

There's also this one about the difference between combusting and vaping;

Apologies if these are not 'new to you'.
I'll say again though, I can't make the comparison yet, 'cause I'm also still waiting on a Hopper.
At 1 year wait, you are ahead of me in the line! I've only waited a little over 8 months.Actually, it never gets old, reading this stuff. Thanks for the links!
I'm assuming (hoping, really) that the GH experience is closer to a "true vape" (ie, Volcano-grade) experience, and something like the Pax2 (conduction) is - while WAY better than combustion - a little towards the "smoke" experience because of partial burn or browning of the material.
Looking forward to hearing how you compare the GH when you get it, @vapviking!
Ok thanks Kingfisher..Considering the charging occurs on the back end of the unit. I would say you got an electrical shock after completing the circuit. The positive and negative terminal are the push button and the outer ring. Notice the spacer between them keeps them isolated.
No it does not mean the unit is on, even when off.
Ive seen only 1 portable vape extracting more evenly than the hopper and that one is the crafty,Umm, I think the Grasshopper may be curing my VAS...
I received both the Firefly 2 and the Boundless CFX this past week, but even after a few sessions with each, I just wanted to go back to my Grasshopper.
The FF2 is a great vape but the GH easily wins on draw restriction, speed of extraction, build quality, no need to stir, etc. The vapor is definitely cooler and smoother with the FF2, best I've ever tasted actually, but the GH vapor is fantastic anyway and I prefer the bigger, more satisfying hits.
The CFX is also a great vape and I think it will do nicely for those times when I want a session vape, but it's not even in the same league as the Hopper in terms of vapor quality, draw restriction, and efficiency. I do like it though and I've never seen a vaporizer have such even extraction - the AVB is perfectly cooked and even throughout, and it's 100% foolproof. No technique required, just pull from the mouthpiece and get vapor.
Yeah, I never tried the Mighty; The laws of coincidence drove me to the Pax 1; it came out a week after I did the Volcano. And I do love my Pax 2--- the draw sucks sometimes but it's a damn good reliable product. At 1 year wait, you are ahead of me in the line! I've only waited a little over 8 months.
If the Volcano pushed the right buttons for you, have you had a chance to try any other S&B vapes, like Mighty? That's daily driver for me, with Pax2 for backup or just a change of pace (like, to slow sipping! but that's nice sometimes) and the Pax2 will kick your butt. Though you may not want to spend $ if Pax2 is doing it and Hopper is on the way...
That's gonna be a big noticeable difference (besides taste) between Hopper and Pax2; draw resistance.
Thank you.I have had two weeks of everyday use with mine now, still going great. I love this thing, it is amazing. I keep wondering how long it's going to be until I reach for my Mighty, but so far I haven't. I like to carry it in my shirt pocket and sip here and there, but love using it with my tube best of all.
I look forward to receiving my pre-order so that I will always have a backup. I really have grown quite attached to this thing.
