Just passed by your review and I wonder how you can say it is a durable vaporizer. Dont get me wrong, I'm really curious because only a bunch are out there and no loger than few months, and they are pre production GH not the real one, I guess @midgetsanchez has one of first real production GH not longer than a week, and we are saying alrady it is durable? I don't want to put salt on a wound but VM heating station was supposed by all to be very solid and it wasn't. GH will certinly be durable but for the moment only time can tell it, or salesman (but this is another story)
It's solid metal. I think that makes it durable but I didn't say reliable. I think this vape is a tank and they are offering lifetime warranty for a reason.

noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

I mean, no. Nothing since his communication to Buzz, who kindly shared that with us awhile back.

Edit: What else would there be for him to say? He gave his explanation.

Some vaporizers require a longer burn off time than others. Long as there is no off gassing now. My Ascent took several burn offs. I'm sure Trevor is a busy man these days. Monday is the 15th. There should be another update, we'll see if he addresses that.

I'm waiting until I can order one and receive it a week later, really excited for the first reviews from the early adopters.

I just found this forum thread while doing some grasshopper research. I also found this page - http://www.vaporizerwizard.com/grasshopper-vaporizer-review/ and this youtube on reddit today that I didnt find here

Are there any more good youtube or other videos on the hopper?

@CityBoi Welcome to FC! That was originally posted here in this forum in the Grasshopper Thread Candidate thread 3 months ago. Here's the link:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-grasshopper.9952/page-182#post-759051

If you search Grasshopper Vaporizer you should find all the videos on youtube that Grasshopper put out. There's also an ad/promo put up recently. There are only around 4-5 Grasshoppers out in the wild. They are slowly being sent out to pre-orders. The video you put up is by Buzz Danklin or Vaporizer Wizard he was given a prototype model before it was released and put out the only actual review video so far. We are all eagerly waiting for more reviews and videos like you. There are updates put out by Hopper Labs the 15th and 1st of every month around midnight.

A factory burn-in at 125% max temperature is a great way to resolve initial out-gassing. If followed by an ultrasonic wash in IPO the unit comes out of the box producing ultra pure vapor. Maintaining medical grade flow paths requires a strict adherence to detailed quality standards. Even the oil from a fingerprint can add a momentary unwanted taste.

I'm sure the guys will figure it out as sometimes it takes several hundred units to smooth things out.

Out of the box reliability is a function of not only design but redesign based on HALT test failures... Over temp, accelerated button test, endurance testing in various operating conditions, drop test, EMI... Run it over with a car, drop it on water lol. Unfortunately cooperate America drives to the schedule so I am liking the GH integrity to hold off till it's right.

I was looking for vape pens made entirely of stainless steel, to see if one exists that might look like a SS GH, and found this one:

vuber.jpg

Seeing this made me think GH should consider making more ergonomic mouthpieces that could also be used to have it pass as an e-cig/oil/wax pen. While traveling a pen shape is more stealth, but while in use in public it is stealthier if it looks exactly like an e-cig or oil pen. I suppose they could design different mouthpieces which you could switch out. Perhaps on future models they could also figure out a way to turn it on without making a clicking sound. Matched with how fast this thing is, I think if they made those changes it would be perfect. Just pondering future possibilities/improvements.

Trolling is not tolerated. Do not post for the purpose of starting a fight. Warning point issued.
If I was a member of the GH team I would be gutted by the fickleness and ingratitude of what appears to be the majority of the members who have posted here or at Reddit. A year and a half of constant criticism at well justified delays and the expressions of doubt about the integrity/ability of the team to deliver the GH was bad enough to demotivate most well meaning product inventors. However, that is mild 10 compared to the incessant scab picking by ingrates who haven't even yet held a GH in their hands. Frankly, I can't believe that the GH team have stuck by their promises to such a negative and destructive bunch of whiners.

Can you even imagine what it must be like to have worked your arse off for over two years to bring the world a superior product then have your market gripe about having to fork out a measly $5 (the cost of a fill or two) for a mouthpiece that helps make the best vape pen in the world an even better experience?

As for the out gassing. Seriously? Shame on you. The GH team need (and deserve) your gratitude and you should be tripping over yourselves and each other to express it verbally and financially.

I think what mostly bothered people was that in almost all cases, no actual REASONS for the delays were presented. That was what bothered me, anyway. I wasn't even waiting that long, but I found their vagueness very bothersome. I'm much more willing to wait patiently if you don't just try to pretend everything is perfectly fine and tell me what is actually going on. Same thing that has irritated me about most of my girlfriends in the past.

If I haven't tried it and therefore can't complain, wouldn't the same hold true for singing its praises?

You make some good points. I work in the customer service industry. Its not easy being under a microscope as GH has been since they began their journey. But...for a first post Im feeling some hostility toward FC members. Maybe you can calrify why such anger and negativity?

Huh? Gratitude? Ingrates? Shame on us? What the....???

Let me break something to you. They are nothing more than a business that is manufacturing a product and then selling that product for a profit. Gratitude? You make it sound like they're some kind of charity that we should all be grateful to.

Criticism, expression of doubt about their integrity/abilities, etc etc is what all startups have to deal with.

Ingrates? You're actually calling many of us ingrates because we are questioning their business acumen?

The simple fact is, is that we, the buying public owes them.............nothing, however, what IS true is that they owe US, or at least those who have preordered product and invested (and I use that term loosely) in their fund raising campaign,............a high quality working product delivered within a reasonable period of time.

If anyone should display gratitude, it is the GH team towards the end consumer, not the other way around, and btw, that gratitude should be unconditional for after all, it is us that are providing them with the dollars to make THEIR dreams a reality.

If anything, the criticism that has occurred here SHOULD be a learning opportunity for the GH team going forward in regards to marketing, advertising and public relations. Understand human nature, with all of it's faults, and learn from it.

You are absolutely correct in everyway. I dont get where that user feels the way he does. BUT as far as this all goes all the backers have made this a reality and made their dreams of success come true and continued success. WE all hav3 made them potentially very wealthy with this product, sure they came up with it but without the funds many dreams go wasted and this pen could have taken much longer to become reality or to have not been made at all.

The GH team should be forever grateful to all of us who backed and preordered their product. Regardless of all the whining and complaining.

So that grasshopper vape huh? good stuff
I'm still skeptical.

Edit:
So did only two people request their hopper early? How have you been charging yours @midgetsanchez?

Are these units even offgassing STILL. I feel like I wasted so much time catching up on this thread only to realize its over 9 pages of off-gassing rambling.

I'm curious if the reviewers paid any money for their Hoppers. At any point in time.

It's true I saw many people whine about the shipping delays and the incertitude surrounding it and I can understand those people as long as they made their comments constructive. I saw also A LOT of positive buzz surrounding the Grasshopper. Some people were recommending the Grasshopper as a portable vape and it wasn't even out yet! Even now it's too early to recommend it but those people had a lot of positive enthusiasm. Personally, I'm waiting for the reviews and FC members analysis.

The issue of out gassing is important. This is exactly the type of stuff that should be discussed for any new vaporizers. I just hope the discussions stay constructive like most of them are. Examining it's veracity and replicability, finding the source(s), how to get rid of it (initial burn off runs?), etc.

Dude all the photos on your site aren't showing up.

Been watching this a while excited to get closer to production!

Thanks for the information. I don't know whats going on with the photos....I am working on the site trying to figure it out so Please check back soon.
Just got my Grasshopper today so now I am working on the full production review, the real deal! I would love to get some input on things you all might like to see or things that would be helpful.

Is it offgassing? If it is, how are you dealing with getting through the offgassing? How is the screwing on/off action? How does it feel? Is it possible for it to get jammed or strip? How long does .05 grams take to fully vaporize - How quickly can you fully vape it. If you want to go slow - how long can you drag it out? Then do the same with .1 gram and .15 grams.

i'd be very interested in your opinion on the warmth and harshness of the vapor. Is it neglible or am i going to need a bubbler?
Is it possible for it to NOT make clouds (i'd prefer the stealthiness of non-visible vapor in public) but still get me high? If so, at what temp?
Would it be necessary to dry the herb out, or will it work with fresher, moister herb?
How's the battery life? How many minutes or hours of continuous use can I get? How many bowls on one battery charge?
How does it smell? Is the leather or SS case necessary to keep smell down or would it be undetectable if i just tucked it in my pocket?
also, how strong is it? How effective is it at extracting? Like, how many hits before the bowl is done?
Thanks and I'm super envious!
