Discontinued The Grasshopper

No worries, mate. I'm just joshing' ya.
It seems strange to me that someone would have one and NOT want to show it off, or doesn't share the enthusiasm and interest in the device that the rest of us do, and wouldn't want to give us their take on it.

Not everyone has the temperament to answer thousands of questions, most of which border on the absurd.

@BuzzDanklin @midgetsanchez, and anyone else who may have had a chance to try it, what in your experiences and/or opinions are some things that the Grasshopper does exceptionally? In other words, what are your favorite things about it?

Thanks, as always

Currently , there are still only a handful of GH out
in the Wild . You would think with social media
like FB , twitter , instagram , reddit , you-tube and FC .
Someone would have posted their newest toy .

They gave one to Buzz , bc they knew he would
talk about it , being a vape reviewer . You would also think
other backers should have received theirs by now .
Maybe we'll start to hear from more backers this weekend ... maybe .

I'm still very impressed by the fast heat up time to getting
a quick hit for that immediate medicated relief .
This looks perfectly suited for my needs .
Really hope there will be more reviews this weekend
from other owners ...

Even as the first grasshopper has shipped, I still find it weird and kinda sketchy that the supposed second review site has been deleted. Was it planted? I think it was. But i guess at this point, it doesn't matter, as long as they keep shipping units.

No, I'm sticking to the SS and hopefully I can tell a difference between the pre-production and the production model with the better insulation. The difference is insane according to Trevor so I will hopefully be doing some testing today. I will try to post a video but definitely more photos and more information soon.

Just passed by your review and I wonder how you can say it is a durable vaporizer. Dont get me wrong, I'm really curious because only a bunch are out there and no loger than few months, and they are pre production GH not the real one, I guess @midgetsanchez has one of first real production GH not longer than a week, and we are saying alrady it is durable? I don't want to put salt on a wound but VM heating station was supposed by all to be very solid and it wasn't. GH will certinly be durable but for the moment only time can tell it, or salesman (but this is another story)

I personally can tell if something is durable by holding it, with a vaporizer its not that much more complicated, if the GH feels solid as it looks then it probably is, I mean the software can go batty I guess....

Durability and Reliability are two different things.

As @HillaryClinton said, you can tell if something is durable by holding it. Based on the construction and assembly, one can determine quite a bit about the quality of a device.

How reliable is the vape? Well that indeed has yet to be determined.

We know several Grasshoppers have lasted several months, which if you have watched other portable vaporizers when they first came out, some didn't even last 1 month before failing on average. (*cough cough* Davinci Ascent  ).

Maybe you mostly can. There might be a few things that are subject to wear that are not totally obvious to the naked eye, however.

For example, I wonder how long the switch will last. And the threads for loading the oven and battery compartment. Maybe the screen as well.

Frankly, I think the threads are the big unknown. I, personally, don't like a design where you need to be screwing and unscrewing something. Some people are less dexterous than others, and if you don't align the threads and apply too much pressure, you can jam or strip them. I can certainly see myself doing that in the middle of the night or something.

Threads are like zippers, in that regard: they seem 100% reliable, until one day...ever see "Something about Mary?" Franks and beans.

I believe smooth threading was one of their original selling points, and the production model was even supposed to have less threading for quicker opening/closing than the pre-production review unit Buzz has. Did that end up happening with you're Ti vs the SS @BuzzDanklin?

So I have this idea for an optional accessory/add-on item for the GH that I'm sure will get eviscerated but here goes...

What about a machined SS/Ti piece that screws in between mouthpiece and herb chamber that's designed to help with cooling the vapor? Even if its just an extension it would help. (or maybe something more sophisticated?)

You would keep it screwed to the mouthpiece when refilling the chamber - both would come off together - so no added inconvenience for the user.

Thinking of you @Ratchett... tho you're probably  right about now.

I live in a deeply red state. You can bet that when I get my Hopper, you will not see my smiling face toking away on Facebook or YouTube.

I think you are way over worried about this...

I did the ti for a few reasons. It's lighter. More durable. Better thermal properties. Less reactive to the elements. The last reason turned out to be a non factor, but my thoughts at the time were that I thought the SS version would ship first, exposing the unit to real world problems, thus affording them the time to fix new problems beef 're mine was shipped.

I said something similar a few pages back. My idea was to have an alternate screw on mouthpiece tip that's slightly longer and maybe with a glass interior. That should lead to cooler vapor. Get on that @Ratchett !
