But you would get the warranty. I purchased a used ff in eBay and the battery was not OK they asked for the serial and took care of it. But the speculator in me us thinking about buying some for investment purpose I mean it is one hundred percent profit.

The Grasshopper is warrantied ONLY to the original purchaser. You could get lucky but they have no obligation to fulfill a warranty claim from someone who was not the original purchaser with proof of the original invoice.

I have ordered in about three weeks ago. I also got v2 series 3 max for the meantime. I think I will sell my firefly though. The gh sounds like its what I need in terms of quality and stealth. The pen I have is OK but the aroma doesn't work for my usages

I also have a Firefly, I NEVER use it anymore. I had a friend over who is looking for a vape for his wife and he tried the firefly, grasshopper and pax2. He picked the Grasshopper hands down. It was the first time I used the Firefly in months and I gotta say, as much as I used to love it, with a Grasshopper their just isnt' room for a firefly in my hive ... one bug at a time for me

"These small part adjustments will eliminate entire assembly steps"

Again am I the only person now noticing they are making "small parts" adjustments..... Now they are using the word parts and changes in the same sentence.... and these latest changes are going to "eliminate entire assembly steps".... not sure if I should be glad or sad...obviously if it all turns out well then GREAT..

Gosh I sure do wish AGAIN that we had a bit more detail surrounding small part changes..... just sayin..:peace:

Are there any functional benefits of the titanium model, or is it just a matter of better materials/aesthetics/durability/etc? Do both models function the same?

As far as I'm aware, and I'm far from an expert, the titanium offers a few small benefits. It is lighter, cools down faster, is possibly more scratch resistant (except for the colors/anodized) and there was at least one report of it tasting better. Personally as much as I love pure glass I can't say I taste stainless steel when vaping so I doubt there's much difference in taste.

The thermal properties are different so it could possibly taste better at the same position on the temp dial if the body was less hot. However, this would just be a result of effectively vaping at a lower temperature because of the material (titanium) even though you're using the same number on the dial. The same results could theoretically be achieved by bumping the temp down a tad on the stainless steel Grasshopper.

I purchased a titanium version mainly for the reduced weight, and if it cools down faster that will be a nice bonus. I purchased a leather case just to help insulate it in my pocket plus keep out lint.

I really hope this new shipment of parts and streamlined manufacturing process works out. It would be nice if they start hitting shipping estimates, if I actually get mine in December I would consider it a Christmas present.

I'm in no rush, but I just ordered a few weeks ago. I'm looking forward to the day all of the early backers orders are filled. That will be a good day for everyone.

Best wishes to all on this chilly October night.

This from wikipedia.
"Titanium is a chemical element with symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is a lustrous transition metal with a silver color, low density and high strength. It is highly resistant to corrosion in sea water, aqua regia and chlorine."

TI is elemental. They ain't making any more of it, and I find that very appealing.
I doubt this makes the Hopper perform appreciably better. But stuff made of TI has some nice tactile and visual qualities as well. I ordered unfinished TI and think it will stay young-looking longer than any of the other options, including SS.

I'm certainly not a metalurgist, rather a humble woodworker, but I have seen lower quality SS (not to imply HL uses low quality ss) show rust over time, and there shouldn't be a question of that with TI.

I'd love to hear other opinions/knowledge on these intrinsic qualities. I've been known to be way off before!

I'm just not worried about the finish on my green hopper. In the manual we've been shown on here it says the lifetime warranty covers general wear on the device, which I assume includes damage to the finish, so if mine gets too ugly looking I'll just send it in and have it replaced. Although the coating on the green ones looks the thinnest to me, so the green may just gradually fade into silver, in which case I'd keep it for the uniqueness

The green finish on my Pax (anodized aluminum) became quite worn looking in less than 2 years and didn't bother me. Added character, as you say.

Imo, a warranty on "wear" would be for functon, not finish. Of course if the finish was improperly executed when originally made, that should be reason for replacement.

On the other hand,
The retailer LLBean'S policy is the customer is always right (gotta love that). I knew a guy who returned some blue jeans after 6 months, for "fading unevenly". He got a new pair!

Does changing the backend assembly stop it from getting hot? I bought a used gh and it works, but the backend gets really hot.

Yeah pretty sure the backend isn't supposed to get excessively hot. This is why it isn't recommended to buy a GH from anyone but GHL. It has a limited warranty meaning it only covers the original purchaser of the device and no one it is sold to.

I'm thinking of adding a TI to my order of 2x S/S. Did I hear somewhere that preorders will still be charged the old pricing or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

I remember them saying it as well. I'll try to look for it, but they said all open orders before a certain date can order another at the old price. You may have to order via email.

Edit: From an email on August 24th

Yes you did hear that in one of the more recent updates. You have to contact them to get the old pricing structure.

If that is " still " the proposition , I would suggest
GHL to fulfill All pre-orders/backers ASAP .

The Loophole I see , is what's stopping me from
asking a fellow member/friend here on FC to add
an SS and TI hopper to their existing order at the low
price .

Well , I guess that is what I'm asking .
anyone from Toronto want to help me out ...
anyone
Bueller ?

Not fair to others who've waited their turn, IMO.
You're suggesting someone let you "cut" in line.
Not illegal, only mildly unethical, but the karmic consequenses, who needs that?

Hmmm... I added two SS vapes to my one Ti on order, because Christmas is coming, and also my sister will totally jack my vape like it's nothing if I don't get her one. And because I have a Grey Ti coming, and I want a SS friend for it. They can ride around in a cigar case together. And two chargers for me means one for the house, one for the auto. But I'm rambling. (Thanks, Herbie!)

My point was that although I expected them to be $99, I was sent an invoice for $135, which I happily paid because they look totally worth it. Is it possible that somebody with a pre-order could talk them into a $99 hopper? Maybe, maybe not. I won't be the one to try though. As far as I'm concerned, if they work half as well as they seem to, I get to be the magical vape fairy for Christmas, and HL can just take all my money.
