Discontinued The Grasshopper

It's amusing that we can look at "at least they are replacing faulty units" as good news.

I mean, pretty much anything I buy has a warranty, but it's something you expect to never even think about....

Obviously you've never purchased anything within the last twenty years.

Since I've purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of things over the past 20 years, I have to ask WTF is that comment supposed to mean?

That's enough of that. You're both dangerously close to getting a warning point for breaking the Be Nice rule. Take it private or ignore it.

Do you use Cvault (with Boveda packs) to humidify your product?

Never have, I don't mind the dry Colorado bud I mean its TRES SEIS after all, I'm just saying that wetter is better and that coastal is wetter the Colorado. That said i'll check it out, I could always use a new toy!

I am definately working on my full review its been 1 full month and i have alot to say. I have been off here due to family health problems. Also alot of posts for awhile were turning a bit toxic for my taste.

YUP, hope everything is okay with you and I would definitely avoid the energy on here if you're looking for positive energy.

Ignore my friend, ignore. So easy, so treize seis

Tres Seis indeed! Of course none of this is a bother for me because I'm usually on some GH inspired Misadventure (GIM) when I'm on here ... having a perfectly functioning GH is so TRES SEIS!!!

i notice that.

I noticed that too, haven't used the silicone mouthpiece at all except for with a bong! :science:

I didn't mean my response to come across that way, I'm sorry. My remark was meant to be a commentary about how shifty things are made now and that warranties are often used.

I fix electronics, laptops, etc., and there are companies that absolutely design and engineer products to fail. From woefully insufficient cooling solutions that often act as insulators to using under sized capacitors that will usually fail after the warranty period expires, I feel it's important to support companies that are not out to Fuck their customers.

Anyways, after I read your response, I can see how you took my post with hostility. I really was not trying to tweak you.

Thanks, and sorry for getting defensive- I see what you were getting at now.
There's plenty of crap being sold that is basically disposable.

All the more reason to buy quality products from solid companies. I've got a ton of music gear, and although it all came with warranties when purchased, it really was not something I considered at the time, because I knew for the most part it was good gear and was highly likely to last a long time.

When I first read about the GH, I noted the lifetime warranty, but really didn't realize how crucial a warranty would turn out to be with this product.

i'm positively surprised about the flavour thing...
It is kind of surprising and it's only one user. The warming and heating property can be different between the 2 materials. But I don't think there's much difference in flavor because nor the SS nor the Ti material leach "flavor" into the vapor as far as I know. What would explain the different flavor? Everything else is the same. Maybe if the SS and Ti have a slight difference in temperature this could explain the perceived difference in favor (too hot reduce the flavor). A slight adjustment in temperature would make both taste the same if this is truly the case. We certainly need more comparison by different users.

Agreed. The heater is the same and should affect the load the same, unless there is residual cooking, which there should not be in a convection unit.

The Chamber is even lined with thermal material, reducing further direct contact with the actual metal.

Do you mean convection? I find there IS waste with conduction. The oven just keeps on baking...

for mr me 2:
yeah but the chamber of the grasshopper is lined and the weed is not in direct contact with the metal.
a little conduction is there with no doubt, but is less than a chamber with the weed in direct contact with the metal.

you inhale and the hot air pass through the herb, then shut off the device but the chamber is still a little hot and in contact with the herb so there is a little conduction, but the lined chamber reduce the waste in theory...

once again sorry for my english.

It's a fact that different metals have differrent properties, and I'm sure two GH made of different metals could have measurable differences in performances. But how big would these differences be and are they big enough that a person could notice them? I tend to think not, but who knows...?

Trevor has actually stated that there are performance differences in the anodized Ti GH compared to plain Ti, which again is technically true but probably infinitesimal.

To go back to claims of different flavor- no one is saying (I would hope) that it has anything to do with contamination or even contact with the metal, the idea was that different rates and intensity of heating led to different flavor profiles coming through at different times and amounts. Which is reasonable, but again, hard to definitely ascribe to the materials themselves.

A filled oven someone had suggested 15-20 draws. I realize a lot of varables such as heat and and how deep of a draw a person gives. If that's true that would be good. About an evening worth of meds for one person depending on the person. It looks well made by the above picture.

I might want to get a titanium eventually if the colored ones get scratched easily. I do have problems with a short air path being harsh, that is my only issues that I might have.
