I was just in Colorado. Stopped at the weed store on the way back home. Herb we bought was not even close to "very dry", in fact, it was a bit damp even for my Underdog. 3 different varieties.
So, yeah, generalizations are not always that useful...
I remember someone earlier in this thread who got their GH pretty early saying it worked great with "just a pinch" and actually said it worked far better than fully packing it
Road trip!
Spent the last week cruising with the spousal unit in the car up and down the Oregon Coast. Only had to change battery twice during the week (after an hour of beach trekking). With charging cable in the car, it was more than enough to keep it charged between stops. I've been using a Pac n Stash to help with loading - just pack it full, screw down and grab a pinch off of it to load the Grasshopper. We found for the road trip it was optimal to fill the bowl about 3/4 of the way, made it easy for us to "session" while driving - (6 - 10 hits on setting 5). No issues or problems - I even dropped the clicker end in the sand once (it buried) - a quick wipe down and blasting it with breath - no sand in the end, none in the clicker - still kept on clicking.
An interesting note - over the week - we ended up using 1/8 oz of flower - I'm a heavy hitter, and the spouse a medium user. Much less than we would normally have used on this kind of trip.
The more I use it, the more I like it. I do need to get an external charger - that way I can keep the charger cable that came with the Hopper in the car full time.
Have any of you tried the pass through charging with it? And if so how long before can use it while hooked up to the charger? Guess it's to soon for anyone to say if it causes any problems or not
They haven't even come close to making a single thousand units yet still jack up the price. Bush league as usual.
Yes somebody confirmed that it works fine ...I just bought a charger (nitecore i2) please tell me it's compatible with these custom GH batteries. Could have sworn I saw that it was, but couldn't find it.

They outsourced the 3D printed heaters to another (American) company to be printed. I tried to probe Trevor a few months back for some information on how the heaters were being printed. Unfortunately Trevor refused to give any information due to the proprietary nature of the design, they're trying to keep it a secret as long as possibleAnyone know what kind of 3d printer is being used to produce the heaters? I wonder how much something like that costs?
Hopefully @HillaryClinton is just on holidays, taking a break from all this. This latest update was just another fuck you (!!!) to their original backers imo. Not only haven't many of us received our hoppers or even an address confirmation, but we didn't get this latest update and aren't eligible for the discounts either. It's not like we can do anything about it, which is why they don't care.
edit: Has @HillaryClinton left fc because of this travesty?
I remember they sent her some bad hoppers and were kind of dickish about taking them back.
"No recent activity information is available for HillaryClinton."

Well that is terrible news! This is how I'm running my GH today:
As you may notice that is a SS backend on my dark gray Ti Hopper.
The original backend for my Ti has malfunctioned. The button no longer works as it should. I can no longer turn it on or off. If you can press it hard enough to get close to turning it on it sticks. Something has failed in the mechanism is my guess.
So, I had the working backend from my Early Bird SS unit waiting on a new body and knew it worked on the Ti unit because HL had me test that in troubleshooting the original.
And I'm still running, but it's taking parts from two broken Hoppers to do it. FrankenHopper. Haha.
Trevor says they haven't had a failure like that yet, so hopefully it stays isolated.
