Need some cleaning advice from any OCD cleaners out there :)

I like to keep my gear clean, I only use friday and weekends but I still clean the stems and heating bowl every other weekend to keep things sparkling.

Last weekend I sandwiched some kief in between some bud. And i'm pretty sure since then it has left a uncleanable mess on the bowl.

I have attempted to clean with q-tip / ear swab dipped into ISO but won't seem to take the below mess off.

Any ideas? :)

Colonel, good you posted about those eGo cases. They are a good fit, and nice lookin.

Locally, LHS usually have them. FleaBay also have them listed, usually 1/2 the LHS price, with free shipping. I am not a fanboy of snail mail, however.

Preheat for a few minutes to warm the heating chamber. While it's warm a qtip and some ISO should take that right off.

so I already broke one of those 2 stems I got after I broke the first... this time it was not my fault though:p was standing in a hallways last night with some other people, smoking and eating bread with tunasalad, and I was passing my air around, then one guy smacks the guy holding my air with his sweater, so my air is smacked to the ground and the glass stem is ejected, bowlpart shattered, but luckily the air itself was fine, it was still on. and I was glad I had a second stem with me, and the guy with the sweater immediatly gave me 10 euros to buy a new stem.

Someone mentioned using a screen and a pencil/eraser to scrub the bowl. Wet screen in ISO and try it on a WARM bowl,
I clean upside down to keep ISO out of the 4 holes in bowl

Thanks for that, seems like a good idea to be honest.

Is the screen in this case just to be used for a bit of abrasion?

Cut a small piece of Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Slightly moisten the piece then ring out with your fingers. You only want it moist. Then use a wooden chopstick to move/scrub the piece around the bowl.

Just make sure when your done. To clean the bowl out with ISO on a cotton swab.

Good as new.

Use to do the same with my Pax oven.

Yes for abrasion Try the magic eraser first,
I use that for the brown stains in the stem works for the glass Shouldn't hurt the oven though

Well @g14production , the chemistry also dictates may other things, including how the battery vents.
We as a rule use IMR chemistry batteries in our devices mainly because if there's a problem like a short, the IMR battery will vent aerosol gas and then some liquid. Other chemistry types vent with FLAME, which is obviously more dangerous and the device is right next to your face.
There ARE better batteries out there. However, for your warranty's sake and ease of use, just stick with Arizer or CentiZen's batteries. However, I do believe Arizer does not honor CentiZen's battery in their warranty. I am also a bit alarmed that planetvape is not actually canadian ? Why the canadian post then...I just got 2 of @CentiZen 's batteries, and the package really came from Canada. So I don't really understand, but do find it odd he does not offer the exchange rated Canadian price on his site.
That said, I've had dealings with CentiZen with my Solo's HC Battery I got from his site. Let's just say I messed up and he took care of me extremely well, I owe the guy a big one. So before we assume things let's ask the man himself.
All the best to all my fellow air-heads ! Luvin' the vapin' life. Considering getting some of that heat shrink silicone, black, to put on my glass stems to make it even more ecig like. Saw it in a post here in this thread.
ALSO, whoever posted the post about Jyarz containers, THANK YOU ! They are great. Made entirely in USA, they are glass-lined smell-proof shatter-proof uv-proof herb containers that are just the right size for my Air case, which I've downsized. Click Here to see the Jyarz Site. Here's a pic:

jyarz.jpg

So yeah the glass insert goes inside of the plastic case.
AND... there was an error so the company took REAL GOOD care of me. Can't share the details, but this is one friendly helpful supportive super customer-service company, for sure. Order one for yourself, they work great for the air as all you gotta do is stick the stem into your jYarz full of ground herb.

Here's a pic of how I've got my new down-sized eGo case set up (sorry, horrible picture quality, almost waited until tomorrow, but, this gives u the idea anyway):

CAM00035.jpg

So that's two batteries, a Solo long stem, the Air, and the Jyarz container filled with ground weed.
With this in my pocket, I'm good to go ! It's the 'big' or 'large' sized eGo case.
It closes nicely with all this gear in it. Perfect ! I'm sure you're all familiar with these eGo carrying cases, they're everywhere and have been mentioned extensively in this thread. They cost about $5-$8 depending on where you get them. The Classic Jyarz container is $13 + shipping I believe.
Note: I posted this case earlier but have a better design now. Here's the post from then and here's a pic of the eGo case closed :

More power to my fellow air-heads !!! Stay vaped !

Planet Vape is Canadian. They have a location in Mississauga (a city right beside Toronto)

Yeah i def would not go with the idea of cleaning the oven with a screen , very bad advice imo. The screen will scratch your oven up. It's always easier to clean when the oven is warm so just try the warm oven and qtip with iso 1st.

Update: seems PV did ship a few oddball vortex stems out that are short with no PV emblem. Not a huge deal until they rather rudely informed me that I should have known it was out of spec before I used it? Did I mention I'm a newbie and just purchased my first vape? And this was my first pvhes stem? It wasn't until a week later pics started going up here and I noticed mine looked different? Lesson learned I guess?...... Really bummed it ended that way won't be buying from PV anymore :(

Well.

Looks like Arizer site also sells stem caps. @ USD $1.25 they are useful for pre-loaded stems on the go.

My AA came with a baby blue battery, the spares (I have) are clad in red.

Any diff in specs for these two?

The best way to clean it I've found is iso and a q-tip while holding it upside down.

That said, the pick or even my pinky finger can dislodge stuff that seemingly is "stuck on". I keep mine pretty clean.

I don't get why some people complain about the battery on this device. Maybe they have higher expectations than I do.

Green battery level = 1.5-2 sessions
White = 1 session
Yellow = 1-1.5 session
Red = 1 session

At most I could pull about 6 sessions from one charge. That's amazing battery life in my opinion. Usually when I see the red battery level I'll charge instead of having a session just to save my battery from stress.

I'm sorry you're upset, but IMO it's their design, they get to make those kinds of calls. If they say it's legit, IMO it is unless it doesn't function?

CK raises a good point, most buy them to use not look at. I think most anxiously waiting would welcome this if offered? One thing sure, a shorter version (able to fit in 'travel tubes') has been requested by many of us, IMO that would be a welcome change.

If you're not happy, tell 'em so, return it for a refund? You'd end up paying postage back I guess but that was the deal?

To be honest, I wish mine was a bit shorter and could really care less about a logo.......in fact I'd probably prefer not advertising their business any more than I like logos on my clothes.

So, how does it work?

Yes, they come with newer units. Nice caps, IMO, custom made unlike the ones we usually use.

No, the batteries are the same, not to worry. The color is cosmetic only. This has been discussed a couple of times.

I don't get why some people complain about the battery on this device. Maybe they have higher expectations than I do.

No doubt. It is a compromise, sure to please some but not all. Solo, for instance, gets twice as many sessions typically, and the sessions are longer as well (12 not 10 minutes). Folks wanted smaller, that means less battery therefore less run time.

Oh.
You guys are talking about a 1/2-size stem with no mouthpiece ?
I got one with my Air from PuffItUp, I believe, if this is what you mean :

AirStems.jpg

This is what I got from PuffItUp.Com, not showing metal 4-piece grinder, clear skin, or extra battery.
I'm guessing this might be what you mean, admitting I didn't yet go to Arizer site to see the 3 sizes they offer, my bad. However I think this is what he wants...... ask Randy aka @PuffItUp .

Oh and by the way, I don't get debris in my stems anymore like in this pic, since I now use the now-infamous on fc forum domed screens!

Wishful thinking, AKA Wishlist:

A small (short) AA BUBBLER stem.

Not overly efficient, a wishful concept.

Vortex on the right , you can see it's a bit curved , no logo and it came with a slight chip in it but it works great and it's def a keeper. Now i gotta grab a back up soon i like it so much. Def a great stem for at home and when on the go i grab one of my modded shorty stems that work just as well after i cut some extra air slits in them.

Thanx OF, yes it works but I'm not upset as much as just bummed. But when I purchased it I was led to believe the added length was more for functionality then looks? I guess I shouldn't have said anything to begin with or handled it differently? Idk.. i remained polite though but you guys got me feeling bad I ever said anything now. Was I wrong? For me I just felt it was different enough to say something. My dissatisfaction ultimately ended up coming from the customer service not the stem its self. Perhaps I should fade back into the lurking zone I'm feeling maybe I still have more to learn before adding to any discussion.

Hi, i recommend braking a razor blade in half so it fits in the oven, then inverting the unit and scraping the bowl, it should come out nice and shinny if done right.
