Hey yall, I'm looking for a glass mouthpiece to attach to my GonG adapter which is in my arizer air. Looking for a small mouth piece, similar to the Vapexhale helio, same design but smaller. Do you guys have one in mind?

If anything, is there a glassblower who's willing to make one out of boro at an affordable price?

Sitting on the balcony watching the rain fall, can't say what made me pull out the Air.

Fired it up and loaded a stem, this vape still works the same as day one.

Can't say I've ever been truly in love with the vapor quality but it's surely a dependable, reliable device.

Always wished the bowl was smaller, as in, less depth; feel like if you could finish a load quicker that would be something. More like Vapcap sized bowls instead of .25g

I'm hip to the screen trick, but I feel like it impedes on some of the conduction from the sidewalls and the glass screen itself. I love the simplicity of brushing out the glass bowl instead of all the crumbs that make their way through a mesh screen.

This thread was pretty buried, so not sure anyone will ever see this stream of consciousness rant 😁 not a worry, carry on!!

I bought an Air in 2016 and it lasted about 3.5 yrs. It crapped out so i bought a 1.5 and OG solo for cheap last 420. Really a reliable vape i was suprised mine broke. As Jerry said, these are the budget units that people should opt for. I use Arizer as my daytime units bc the buzz is manageable

My 2 year old Air was turning itself off on a full battery about a minute after reaching temp. Saw the following in this thread but it didn't work for me:
"Plug the charger into the wall outlet, Plug the charger into the AIR unit, press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger. "

Emailed Arizer support and got this suggestion that did work:
"You may be able to reboot your Air unit. You can try removing the battery, plug in the unit for 30 seconds, unplug the unit, then re-insert the battery".
I think it is possible bad - contact on battery, current drops and then Air is shutting down heating, I fixed this with extra negative connector, I used copper stripe. Solder in other side of pcb and negative connector

You are probably right. I eventually sent the unit in and they sent me a new one.

What up IV. Just saw this post and have a couple questions for ya.

How long was your session w/ a fully packed stem (no screen).

Are you temp stepping w/ your Air or are you going straight to a high temp and leaving it there until the sessions done.

Thanks dude! BTW, the 14mm Sand Castle looks like a fuckin' monster! The 18mm version scares me. 😨 😱

Mahalo my dude! Always happy to chime in where I can! 😄

It probably takes me about 1.5 cycles to finish a full stem. I think that’s around 15 minutes or so? Sometimes I run a mesh screen, but I flipped it from how I used to do it, instead of a concave screen that takes away a lot of the conduction, I’m doing more of a squared off, basket shaped screen that I insert backwards: that reduces the chambers depth, while still allowing the herb to make good level contact with the sidewalls of the stem. When I run that reduced amount I can finish a bowl a little faster, though it’s still definitely more of a leisurely experience. I’ve tried running smaller amounts without the mesh screen, but my theory is when you load this way, the herb isn’t flush with the metal heating cup which I believe is why the top of a full stem is always lighter in color - it should be getting conduction from the glass screen, but because it’s out of the “hot zone” a bit, IMO it receives less heat transfer.

What I wanna do is grind the stem down so the bowl depth is cut in half or so, and then it should give me the best of both worlds. I find for my tastes I can still get a plenty long enough session If I want to on a half sized load, and the full pack not necessary for me.

As far as temperature I do both, sometimes I temp step and milk the low end, Other times I go straight to green or yellow. Depends on how I’ve got the bowl setup - for example, a half load with no screen you can go straight to full blast since it’s further away.

The 14mm Sandcastle is a crusher! The 18mm is more for Old Morty 😁😁😁

Questions for anyone with the Air 2.

1) How prescise is the temperature setting?

2) I have heard that it is difficult to draw through a bong. Is that true?

There is actually a thread for the two

But there is also the upcoming Air Max, I feel like it would make more sense to wait for that, even if you end up with the two it will be cheaper then??

I wouldn't focus too much on precise temperature by the way because it is always going to be pretty relative with any vape, and yeah there is quite a bit of draw restriction with these vapes in particular...

The reason for the temp accuracy has to do with research I want to do.

Okay but that research is far from universal, it is limited to the specific vape you are using it for, I wouldn't say this is the best one to do for a research project... Sounds more like a job for Herbalizer if they still made them!

I have no clue how precise the temp setting is. I do notice a difference between the Solo and Air when both are supposed to be on the same temp. The Solo produces more and seems to be hotter vapor wise but that may not have anything to do with the temp setting and may be more related to the device's power output's ability to hold temp and the device's configuration near the oven. They look similar near the oven but the build on the Solo is more substantial, may retain heat better and is using two batteries instead of one.

The Solo at Level 7 and the Air at Level 5 is 410F
The Solo at Level 6 and the Air at Level 4 is 401F
The Solo at Level 5 is 393F and the Air at Level 3 is 392F
The Solo at Level 4 is 383F and the Air at Level 2 is 374F

My starting temp level on the Solo is level 4 (383F) and my starting temp level on the Air is level 3 (392F) and for me, they are equitable temps in terms of production so the Air needs a bit more heat to produce at the same level as the Solo. These are merely opinions and your mileage may vary.

Both the Solo and Air are known for having draw restriction. Please excuse the captain obvious statement here but depending on how packed the bowl is filled and how sticky the herb is will directly affect the draw restriction. When I fill the bowl lightly the restriction is negligible. Now to your question....I find that using the Solo and Air with a bong helps by creating more sucking/draw pressure without requiring the user to inhale harder to get that leg up. If I use the Solo/Air without my bong its a harder draw than when I use my bong.

Of course this is about the Air and not the Air 2 and I get the impression your interest is the digital display on the Air 2.

Thanks for all the info. Makes sense. I see variability in the draw of the little G Pen Dash depending upon how it is packed.

The Solo 2 as I recall does not have user access to the battery.

I am also considering the Mighty +. It might work for me. The e nano only has a dial marked 1 to 11 rather than specific temps.

Most people don't need to know the temperature I suspect. They just set the device up for their personal taste. I am interested in attempting a little research with the unit I get hence the interest in temp settings.

The draw resistance with Arizer vapes is problematic like @His_Highness mentioned. The slow weak heater on the Solo II was disappointing too and those two things combined made it one of the first vapes I gave away when I first became interested in vaping. You need to take twice as many wispy hits to get comparable extraction compared to the newer portables with more powerful on demand heaters. The flavor and effects were less impressive too but if you're mostly vaping cbd flower then it's less important I suppose.

The repeated comments about research using precise temps sound notional to me. I'm not an expert on the science of cannabinoid extraction, but I recall quite a few posts from more technical folks here on FC who've observed that the displayed temp on most vapes (including newer ones that I prefer by a wide margin) is just an estimate based on the power being sent to the heater: they don't have an actual temp sensor in the oven/chamber.

You do seem pretty set on buying one of the old session vapes from five or ten years ago. Despite some minor updates those are poor performers by today's standards. When you're finished with your research come see us again and we'll find you a more capable portable.

@andrew`124c41+ - you are correct that the Solo and Solo 2 don't have a replaceable battery the way the Airs do.

As @bossman mentioned..... There has been a bunch of temp related study done with regard to effect and which chemical substances are released if that's where your headed. You could search the "Vaporization Discussion" forum for a bunch of different threads on the topic. You'll find threads talking about the tools, vapes and methods used as well.

Here's one https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vape-temp-profile-charts.25780/

Checked Arizer site and saw the original Air has been discontinued. Mine has been a workhorse. Even survived a smooth move where I tried to use my foot to keep dropped Air from hitting the floor. Managed to kick it 25' across a cement floor. Didn't even break the stem. Lots of good times made better with this device

My Air II died after about 6 months of occasional use. It beeps on and off with no heat or display. My Air I and my Solo are still going strong. Although I purchased it from Puff It Up in March of 2021 and didn’t use it for a while when I got it, Puff It Up did not respond to an email, voicemail, or text regarding this. I had to go to their chat twice before being given the contact/support link for Arizer. (I did not see a contact/support link on Arizer’s website). Their warranty is only for 30 days. Buyer beware.

Should I assume flashing red and yellow alternating bottom lights means the end of the road with this one?

Did a stem yesterday morning and it worked fine, went to a friends and fired it up and no luck...!

I bought an air secondhand off entexchange in 2016 or 17...a few years in the charging port stopped working (maybe it was the adapter) but by that point 18650s and chargers were standard and I just switched to external charging. It's still going strong although if you put it down too hard it will turn off--probably a loose contact but I don't mind just being a bit careful.

I love this thing and how it's designed in a way lots of products aren't any more (replaceable battery, open oven allowing for attachments and different stems, and durable).

Sad that reddit has made the choice to shut down (imo) the best secondhand market for vapes and glass online, no offense to the classifieds section.
