I actually used the air on my couch last night while my parents were sitting there. We got together for my bday. They know I smoke but I try not to do it around them. I told my mom it was my new ecig , they didn't smell a thing wich was funny. Was looking over at my girlfriend laughing bc they had no clue.

Wow lots of friends I've heard from here claim their AA doesn't produce any smell when in use which baffles me! My air smells of loud terps when I use it, so much that there's no way I could use it in a crowd, let alone in my living room with family. Are you holding hits in until there's no vapor to cause a smell? That's the only factor I've considered during my use that could cause a smell.

Anyone else had similar experience with little to no smell during their usage?

All portable vaporizers have a smell. You can't get around it because cannabis smells. Some vaporizers smell more than others. My Ascent is really smelly and so is my Pinnacle Pro. My Indica smells less than my Air. Your cannabis smells the least after it's been vaped for a few minutes.

A dirty vaporizer will smell. Having a tiny part of your stash with you that hasn't been vaped yet smells unless you have it in a smell proof container. Fresh herb in your vaporizer smells when it isn't in use or not.

Trying to REDUCE conduction by ADDING a METAL screen in the bowl? I think it would not make a difference man. You might just be doing more work for yourself. But to each their own.

No I'm not holding hits in, just using on green and below. It does help that my unit was freshly cleaned and the room I was in is very open with large cielings. Very little smell compared to my other units I own. I guess they just didn't notice but I bet with a candle lit you'd get away with it no problem .

The screens hold a small fraction of the heat the glass stem holds .and by keeping the top screen below the top of stem this makes a big difference man.

What @Mrmrmrmr is doing is making a basket to fit into the stem that further insulates the herb from conduction...similar to how the MV works, and similar to a recent mod for using Herbie with a MV flexicone (was that you, too, @Mrmrmrmr ?). With the herb in the basket screen and covered by the flat screen, he is getting better taste since the thermal mass and conductivity is so much higher with glass than with a ss mesh screen. I think that he would get similar benefits from removing the stem between hits, but this can be a real hassle. My guess is that the difference is noticeable to freaks like us, but the general population won't get it. Remember, most of us regulars on this board are beyond eccentric compared to the rest of society! Every time I break out my vape speak with people in person, as opposed to this board, I am reminded of how little anyone thinks about what we obsess over here. I recently broke out Herbie at a party and they were floored at the concept of vapor in bags...:\

The best way is the way that works the best for you. There's no right or wrong. The suggestions on FC are put out to help you during your vaping experience. It may be something you want to try or not.

With me sometimes it's trial and error. Or even the mood and the vaporizer I'm using. For a while I always used a screen with my Solo. Here lately I don't feel a need to.

The top screen fits snug inside the stem for me. I always stick it below the top of the stem so there's no direct contact with the heating chamber. Very very easy to pop out with something sharp. I use my trusty skilletool aka honey bun.
I would highly advise you trying a screen. It works way better IMO then no screen.
If you want to go a little more convection, you can get an open-bore stem, Planet Vape sells them as "Turbo Stems" and JoDa can get you one done. Enano Adjustabowl I think? Then fix up your basket stem with a little more space between the edges where it catches and the actual basket section so that none of the basket touches the glass. That'll give you a bit more convection. Or you can do what I did, and use the basket on a turbo stem so that it catches the ledges and pushes the bowl farther back. It ends up being that the whole section where you would normally load herb is empty, and the flower starts after that. You'll have to work a bit for the hits but they're about as convective as you can get with this setup and taste pretty damn good. Too much work for me, I only use it on water pieces so that the herb stays put. I find that when using the stems as intended the taste tapers off late enough that I don't care about it (plus the water helps).

I'm not using screens w my solo either. I know I'm getting this air unit soon but I gotta hold off. But if I go to Mardi Gras the solo will not be portable enough. As far as no smell - I don't think that is true of any unit so you always have to be careful. I was in a club the other night where the Air would have been much better. It makes me made that the pax isn't as good. I wonder if anyone wants to buy it? I have all kinds of extras for it and then I could be onto this device. Does everyone just love it?

When my Air needs charging, the lights change pattern. Like if I was at Red temp, usually the bottom light would be blue and the top light would be red. But when it's out of juice the top light turns blue and the bottom one turns blue and they blink.

Then tonight, the same thing happened, the battery ran out, so I switched out the battery for another one and plugged it in. Then the bottom light started blinking red and yellow. It doesn't go to the blinking green when I plug in the charger. What does this mean? Is the battery dead? Was the vape too hot when I switched out the batteries?

Can I ask a really stupid question? Can this be hooked up to a water tool? Are the mouthpiece and solo stems like the Planet Vape stem can be used with this little device. From the pictures I've seen it looks like the size of the pax and is a little bigger than s pen vape. But if this can be stuck in a bubbler this looks like a good device. Remember I'm still a newbie of sorts to this. I just want to know

It can be used with a water tool but shuts off after it gets too hot, then you have to wait 5 min for it to cool off. I have not used it with a water tool personally. I have seen that others have. I use mine strictly for on the go. When using a water tool you have to go hotter with your vaporizer so i would be concerned that it would get too hot and shut off.

The Solo I would imagine makes a better water tool companion.

But it does look very durable for on the go. It would have been better than the solo w the long stem at the verry Jerry Xmas show I saw in charm city. if someone pulls out a wild bong and you have the mighty PV adapter with you then as Jerry would say " might as well might as well ". It could happen. Much better for concerts Mardi gras good walks before movies etc, And don't forget the fun as you go on the ultimate cheap china China glass treasure hunt to find a little bitty baby bubbler so you could turn it upside down once your back at the hotel room. That's my idea of a fun vacation.

That's about it, I think. Not much longer, but maybe twice the diameter of a pen vape.

And yes, the plastic MP on the stem is sized correctly to fit a 14mm GonG connector. Turn it over and stick it in any handy neighborhood WT and you've good.

Off course there is a smell, maybe users don't smell it but anyone with a nose for mj will recognize that smell. Just opening a jar of bud smells up the place.

yeah, they generate a smell for sure. It's nowhere near as strong or acrid as burning, but it gets pretty cooked at the two higher temp settings (yellow / red). Past green, I find the taste to be pretty lousy. Sure feels like the higher settings are for water tools.

I will admit that I haven't figured out how to consistently pack the bowl right. They higher settings really seem to chew through battery (and get the burnt popcorn odor if it's not fresh packed)

Are the mouthpiece and solo stems like the Planet Vape stem? can a bubbler be used with this little device.
(sorry if I mangled your quote, smartphone reply)

email response I recv'd from PlanetVape stated that their Turbo / Shorty / etc stems all work with the Air.

I'm prolly gonna order some high temp caps, silicone tubing, and a stem from them. Debating that I should prolly just get the f-bomb combo (compact and stashable fits my needs well)

the plastic MP on the stem is sized correctly to fit a 14mm GonG connector. Turn it over and stick it in any handy neighborhood WT and you've good.

WHAT? I never would've thought to try that! I feel like that's a bullet point feature that would sell more units! I can just use the 14mm male to male piece I picked up on a whim, figuring I'd need to wrangle tubing...

now I really wish I had never combusted out of the "affordable, what the hell" option bubbler as a ring in the New Year impulse. The smell is there :(. Can I just ISO the shit out of the glass? prolly gonna gift wrap it up for some friends anyway as a belated whatever gift if I get the f-bomb / something similar.
