gold all in my chains...dont believe me just watch
alright guys, so wed night was my first chance to use the air & i used it differently than my typical sessions. i took it out to a bar and was mingling & playing pool. this is discrete enough for people to not pay attention to what you're doing, but just as i predicted before, the girl i was playing pool against definitely asked me what it was (and actually wanted to give it a quick try!). in comparison, i could use my mflb without setting off anyone's radar...but i was consciously trying to keep the air discrete, so this outcome is about as good as i anticipated...
one thing i realized about this vs the mflb is that once you turn the air on, you need to be prepared to finish the stem unless you want to hassle with turning it off and back on a lot. its not good for taking a hit, waiting a few minutes, and taking another hit. so, hope that the person playing pool against can get a few balls in one "possession" so that you can have a chance to use the vape a little (remember it can take about 30 sec to take a proper hit)...
i used it with the condom & once its on for a while, it stays pretty warm - but not hot. i also got to run a few sessions with this vape and realized that the warm up time is so much faster than the solo that i would waste a lot of the 10min auto-shutoff time just preparing the stem & waiting for preheating when i didn't really need to. so i would turn it on, preheat it, and slowly start getting stuff ready. by the time i was ready, i had probably milked like 3 minutes off the auto shutoff (its not that I'm slow, i was caught up in conversation, making drinks, etc...so i noticed that it was a more "rushed" experience compared to the SOLO). i think i got about 4 sessions before the air was blinking red (there were about 2 sessions worth of wasted time where it was heating up & i forgot it was preheating, or just got distracted/caught up, etc).
i think if you were willing to turn it on/off & wait for a short preheating each hit, you could have this replace your MFLB (unless you needed a SUPER stealth session). i would say don't turn this on & get your stuff ready since its pretty fast. i think you should get everything ready and then turn it on so that you don't forget and waste precious battery life. i think on a normal night out for me, 1 battery is more than enough vaping time (especially if you drink also), but you are really pushing if more than 3 people are depending on this vape.
I've used it as a "log" style vape at home plugged into the wall & its sufficient...also its nice to heat it up, take a hit or 2, turn it off & do that again every 10 minutes or so to "titrate" your dosage.
so far, the solo hasn't been turned on since I've used this vape...which scares me a bit, but i like having the piece of mind that there is a VERY TRUSTWORTHY backup vape available if i ever need it (too bad it will be stuck at home).
i also have thought about including a "table of contents" type post at the beginning of every long thread for people who need to quickly educate themselves about a potential vape purchase. if we could direct them to posts that follow the natural chronology of the posts along with links to especially useful posts would be awesome. like, this one would go, 1. first look & sale price, 2. first delivered unit, 3. new stems, 4. comparison to solo, 5. battery specs (<--just recently). i was also thinking if we could make a huge master excel spreadsheet on every, or at least the most popular, vapes with an organizable columns to sort the list into relevant categories depending on what you were looking for. fields would include: price, size, load capacity, vaporization method used, resale value, ease of use, accessories available, "stealthiness", cloud factor, average rating (out of 5 stars, like amazon), degree of even browning, darkness of ABV, degree of vaporizer control, ease of cleaning, and whatever other subjective variables that people are concerned with.
an alternative to this is an option for the writer to add "tags" specific to their post. like i would tag this one with "night out", "taking to bars", auto shutoff, etc...so that a person who was trying to get a feel for those aspects of this vape could save time just reading posts about that...
we could have everyone with a username complete a review on whatever vape they want to include their opinion on (with specific choices for each field) and have that data somehow go to a master list that can be sorted by field to compare every vape that has a thread. this could be a huge helpful tool to kind of consolidate much of the information already on this website...id be willing to review the vapes i had experience with to contribute to this database if anyone knew how to set something like this up...
