By the way, I want to be sure I have the optimal technique for this down:
I activate the unit, and load the stem with medium-ground herb while the Air preheats. I set it to red while it's heating up, as I've heard it produces better results if you do so initially. Once it's hot, I insert the stem and set it to the desired temperature - typically green - before allowing it to heat soak the herb for about 30 seconds.
After that, I draw slowly and steadily for several seconds, hold that breath for several seconds, and exhale. There is sometimes visible vapor, sometimes not. My understanding is that visible vapor is not necessarily linked to the potency of the draw, however.
I'm currently using the default glass stem, and I intend to try the domed screen method, when my screens arrive. Is the domed screen necessary with Ed's wooden stems? Is it beneficial? It looks like I may have a few days to wait until it shows up.
