I've done it both ways, it's your call IMO. Changing to a charged battery is fast and easy (remember the power bank solution still involves about 2 hours for a recharge). However, if you have a cell phone, mp3 player, GPS or any other gadget that charges at five volts the power bank has an advantage there I think. BTW plan on a power bank rating of about 3000mAh being needed to completely recharge, there are efficiency issues raising the power banks voltage to 5.0 Volts so the Air can lower it back to whatever is needed at that instant to support charging.

The only perfect answer is 'do both', the call of which is more useful to you you'll have to make.

You'd find the answer there: "And stick a 3/4 inch or so piece of 1/2 inch OD (3/8 ID) silicone tube in the bottom instead of the cheap oil 'skillet' that comes with it". Specifically I use this tube, although others would no doubt work:

Although I've never tried it, I see no reason it wouldn't work with all glass stems (although you might have the change/adjust the tubing. When I use it on my Solo I just use the Air stem, at ten bucks each cheaper and easier to get than a PVHES.......

I'm not sure about that 'helpful as always' bit. For sure there's a buncha guys who'd argue the point with you.......and they've got lots of examples to back their narrow minded opinions up with. Some of the examples more embarrassing than others......

Should work, that's .393 inches, I'm using .375 nominal.

I plug it in. They typically output 5 VDC and can be treated as a USB port. Use the same cable you'd use for that.

Sorry guys, I followed the discussion for a while and then lost track... has a judgment been made about how good/bad of an idea it is to use third party batts in the air? I bought the Samsung's and still haven't used them

My attitude with the 3rd party batteries is "better safe than sorry". Is the $2-5 I might save by buying an off-brand battery really worth the worry that it may damage the Air or void my warranty?
IMO it's not worth the concern to save a few bucks, but that decision is up to you

Yes I do agree that the is no Vape like evo. But for the price and ease the AA is a great device.

OF Everyone seems to be looking for that easy flow water tool. Gonna hold off on PWT to see what that is

How good/bad the idea is depends on a few things...

One is how much you understand about batteries in general (please don't take this as an insult, I'm no expert, but there can be a lot of variation from one to the next)

Another is where you got the batteries from, is it somewhere you trust? Are you sure they are what they claim to be?, there are lots of good batteries out there but also a lot of fake/bad quality ones.

Now i think it was agreed that the reason Arizer only recommends their batteries is that these are the ones that they have/had tested and are confident that they will not cause issues and behave the way they want them to, this way they cover themselves against customers being hurt by using fake/bad quality aftermarket options.
This is also the reason 99% here will also recommend OEM batteries.

There are people here that use other batteries and i don't think we have heard anything gone wrong (but would we? after the standard advice here of use OEM)

My advice would be the same as @photobooth, but in the end the decision is yours.

I bought these a few weeks ago and they are working just fine! I do understand the risk however but I just didn't see a scenario where they could prove I used a different battery.

Good to hear everything is going well:tup: i also find it hard to believe that they could tell/prove anything but its not something with my knowledge:hmm: i could say 100% as advice to others.

If you have time it would be interesting to hear how they perform over time, in regards to heat up time, charge time and stems per charge compared to your OEM that came with your air, I'm sure there are people that would be interested (myself included)

IMO you will probably find they perform basically the same with no gain other than a few $ saved, but i really would love to be proved wrong here.

(This last bit is not aimed at you or anyone here but hope it explains why some of my advice sounds cautious at times) i heard someone say (on here i think) there is a reason McDonalds cups have "warning HOT" on them, some people need this kind of warning:rolleyes: (I'm sure you know what your doing and made an informed choice but you know the kind of people I'm talking about right? :lol:)

I think i see the confusion, there are two water tools being talked about right now, one is @OF's and the other is something vapefiend is getting in the future, the vapefiend one is smaller like inside of a longer aa stem.

Both have my VAS or is it SAS:shrug: going though:lol:

There are photos earlier in the thread, at least one with Solo. They're basically the same height, Air about half the diameter, "122mm in Height and 29mm in Diameter" and "Solo measures 4.5 “ in Height and 1.75” in Diameter " according to the maker. Beats me why they started out SAE and went metric......must have to do with everything being labeled in English and French?

I can't tell you exact demensions but it is smaller and thinner. It's truly portable. I would say it's about half the size of the solo. It works really well. You can stick in your pocket (or my case, a purse). I kinda like it as much as the solo for this very reason. Honestly, you only need 1 but these devices break a lot so it's always good to have a back up vape.


Nothing is quite like the EVO but I stuck the Air in my really big doughboy recyler this weeken and the air was producing big clouds.

Should I sell the Pax because I am so over that vape. Happy 4/20 and it's Monday so I didn't partake today. Makes Friday so much more exciting.
