I dont think we ever saw any breakages due to weight, or any complaints about rigs toppling over, or joints breaking, on the previous site. I dont recall any anyway. One can also counterbalance the TBucket with placement of the handle. I use fairly small rigs, 14mm connections, no water, no toppling, no joint stress (this is NFC, never any joint stress ;) )

A lovely, kind member of our little community here has bought me an Auber 300B! Boost/glob mode is on the way! Should be here end of this week or sometime next week (customs clearance depending).

Great news! I'll do a demo/tutorial when it gets here.

Its really, really easy to set up, and one button press to use.

Glorious! :D Controller set to 500f permanently, one button press at it shoots up to 600 and stays there until I hit the button again. @Chris_NV Next level achieved. You guys tried this yet?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your wish came true. Those temps seem high for you?

When you get back to temperature testing, try a PID offset of 1.17 on the Auber, and see after a 10 minute warmup if your TCup dish temperature is close to PID temp. Easy to do, I switch my Auber 300a, to my offset for my DCup, and revert to no offset when I use my WeedEater.

Controller temps, I havent got the probe out yet, so I was approximating from dabbing results rather than checking. The 600f boost doesnt last long, then I go quickly back down to 500f again for easy clean up before the dab dries out totally.

Its working flawlessly.

Also, lungs have levelled up significantly since I started taking vitamin d tablets daily. Coincidence maybe, but I'm able to tolerate way more with out coughing all of a sudden and clear lungs the next morning - so much so that I'm vaguely considering flower as an option again (yeah right).

Boost Mode update...

This pretty awesome. I now have access to 6 different set temps. I've only set up two but its just dawned on me how useful this is. Once set up and activated, its possible to cycle thru all 6 set temps really quickly and easily. A swift turn of the knob gets the boost menu up, and two clicks later, you're in a different boost mode - and one button press to cycle between those two temps, etc etc.

Definitely a worthy upgrade in functionality.

That just happened...
Pearls don’t work as good as you think. Being round they only make contact with the dish at a single point. So they never get nearly as hot as the dish. They cool the dab.

Well damn, I feel like a bit of a fool for getting two sets now. I suppose I'll play around with them some to see if any differences are noticeable, but it sounds like I made an oopsie. They'll be here Monday, anyway. :uhoh:

I dont personally, I find them to be a bit of a pain and unnecessary in the TBucket, but I gave it a go I think?

EDIT: Finally got a nice amount of concentrates in the house. Finally back to using boost mode. Its been a while. Decent size dab, starting at 500f (controller temp), and boosting to 650. The controller starts slowing the climb at around 600 and really slows down around 630. Rarely does the dab last long enough to get much higher in temp. A couple of decent hits at 500, so full of flavour, and then all the vapour and big hits once I hit the button and start the temp increase.

I am starting to approve of the boost mode. I didnt think I'd want to use the other two boost mode memory slots but I think I might now.

I am slightly refining my method, dropping my boost settings to 460f start temp, boosting up to 600. I was finding that too high a boost temp and too little a dab was too easily a predicament, making clean up more difficult with a dried out/crusty dirty dish.

Dropping the temps means my margin of error is reduced and I have more time to clean up in case I forget what the hell I'm doing mid dab :)

Also, with a different size dab, hitting the boost button at different times during the dab - for instance, a large dab, maybe boosting the temp before the dab has hit the dish, or with a small dab, leaving it till the very end/at the start of the inhale, just to get the last bit/best bit ;)

EDIT: And once I can see the dab is drying out, getting all thick in the dish and about to stop giving off the goods, I hit the button to drop temps again and ensure clean up will stay easier for longer.

Boost mode is really handy.

Agreed, very useful info! I'm wondering if there's a way to get similar boost-mode functionality out of the NV controller in my Tsunami. Great to see Auber add that.

This is why I started asking Auber to add it. I was doing boost mode by just upping the temp a bit haphazardly on the NV/Vapecode controller. Less than ideal, but it worked and started me down this path.

I've changed things up again slightly. I noticed that if I left the boost temp on slightly too long, the end clean up would be a bit black/carbon, so I took that temp down 10 degrees. My standard temp at 440 was a little too low for low temp hits, so thats gone up ten degrees.

I think those might be my standard boost temps sorted. I might set up and store another boost temp for doing big dabs.

I found the timer starts once set temp is reached and is specified in minutes, not seconds. I have all mine set to 1. I'm timed so that I'm reaching set temp about the time the material is gone and without dropping out of boost might right away the cleanup is less than ideal. Lowering the set temp is a good idea - but I would love it if the controller would overdrive the coil a bit while in boost mode. Maybe I can effect that with a bump to the OTH value as my coil is 150w and I'm currently running at 67 for OTH.

Ah, interesting. I have the timer turned off so thats useful to know. IIRC, Auber said the timer works in minutes until you hit under a minute, something along those lines (I'll have a look at the manual after typing this out). I also noticed when I was boosting to 630 (PID temp, not actual dish temp), the temp rise would slow dramatically at around 600, whereas down at 580, the PID seems to exhibit a less extreme slow down and one much closer to the actual boost temp, so yeah, I think digging into the settings will likely fix the kinda stuff you're talking about.

Overdriving the coil, isnt another option just boosting to a higher temp? Isnt that the point of a boost mode? :)

If you have a @710Coils heater coil you can bump the Auber up to 150w (100w set as standard) and this helps the nail recover more quickly after a hit. It might help the boost mode temp get reached more quickly.

Interesting! Thanks for the heads up. Auber mentioned something recently about only having a certain wattage of coils, and I didnt really know what that meant. Now I do. Thanks! :)
