Interesting! Thanks for the heads up. Auber mentioned something recently about only having a certain wattage of coils, and I didnt really know what that meant. Now I do. Thanks! :)
This is the OTH value I referred to above. Auber coils are 100w so the OTH value is 100. On my weedeater controller I use a 710coils 150W coil and have my OTH value set to 80 (67 would equalize them). Have been running my dabbing controller at 67, but with boost mode in the picture I'm going to try running my dabbing controller with a higher OTH value.

Nice one, thanks! I was missing key info! :)

When I bought my NV gear, with the Auber 300A, I bought the FLAT “coil” from NV, it’s rated at 100w. However, I was told there is an EXTRA turn (4) on the flat coil, versus (3) on the 710coil. I could only confirm this by looking at the pictures on the 710coil site. Not sure how much of a difference that extra coil wrap makes?

So one less turn, but a more powerful coil? Intriguing. I wonder if they cancel each other out :)

Yes, but only if you configure the Auber to 150w. I’m expecting the MaxVapor BT 1.3, tomorrow. I’m not sure how it handles various 109-150w coils, but since those two companies (710coils & MV) know each other, there is probably a setting, unfortunately, the MV manual PDF, is 2 years old, and SKIMPY on tech info. The Auber wins here, as they supply all the info across multiple PDF manuals. I don’t have any 150w coils to play with.

I guess I should start following the MV thread and see what your experience is.

BTW: I’m searching for the NV video that explains the “extra wrap”, on their coils, not sure where they source them. And it’s ODD, the NV site is NO longer showing the coils as a separate purchase.

IIRC, NV coils are Vapecode coils, but I may be wrong. Same manufacturer as their push button controllers.

EDIT: I was just wracking my brain, trying to remember the name of the vapecode shop on dhgate, only to remember the link is in my sig :D

I bought their Auber compatible coil, with the XLR connection. Maybe they are out of coils, but they used to list them as separate items.

Finally pulled the trigger on a T-Bucket with the Auber controller, also added the Saphire dish. I was debating between this or the Tsunami but in the end I think I'll let the Tsunami concept evolve more before I can justify spending that much when the T-Bucket will do the same job for less money.

All very wise choices imho :)

At least with the T-Bucket I can replace the coil or the controller if something break. My only reason to get the Tsunami was the ability to use my hydrotubes with it but I have more than enough glass to find something that will be a perfect to match with the T-Bucket. The Tsunami might be on my radar in the next year if they keep adding new ideas to it, the collab with Max Vapor is interesting but I want to wait to see if there's no problem with it. Also I know if I buy one they will release a new model as soon as I open my wallet and at the price these things are sold I don't want to have buyers remorse.

FWIW, I am fairly certain that if the PID goes out in a Tsunami, it can be swapped out with relative ease (mine has become a bit loose up against the body, even); same goes for the coil. The big machined billet piece is just a platform, airpath, mounting point for the coil and draw tube + bucket, and enail housing altogether, after all. I feel you on fretting over/anticipating newer models, though. I have the standard-version Tsu, acquired shortly before the MaxVapor collaboration was announced, and am heavily considering the MV version. So much for VAS being sated...

Thanks @Rastakolnikov, ordered. 👌

Good to know that the Tsunami can be repaired easily, it was a concern but on the other hand these things are made to last a long time so it shouldn't be problem. I almost got a Tsu a couple months ago but my damn credit card wouldn't work and a couple of days later the Tsu MV version was released. I know my VAS, if I get a Tsu and like it I will need to have every new model they make after that and at the price these things sell it's not a good idea for my wallet. In the case of the Tsu I know they have some good ideas they want to try out so I'm sure I make the right choice by waiting, some day I'll get one but right now with the T-Bucket I know I'm not gonna miss anything and I'll know if I like it or not at a fraction of the price a Tsu would have cost me.

Also any tips about the Saphire dish? I never used this material and I don't want to break it after the first use. So any tips and tricks for the cleaning and utilisation of the dish?

Lots of posts if you search this thread on “sapphire”, with TWO “P”’s.

Here is a start:

Thanks for reminding me the search function will work better if I use the right spelling

I have some Dark Crystal Clear can I use it on the sapphire?

I think you could try just about anything on a Sapphire dish, except a Diamond....the main concern is THERMAL SHOCK.
I settled on Simple Green Crystal, after seeing the baked on crud come off after soaking in tiny dish, no scrubbing. I bought a gallon on Amazon. I’ve never bought DC.

Hey WAIT... aren’t YOU the Chemist?

Of course I am but unfortunately I flunk the test on the reactive property of saphire mainly because I didn't spell it correctly!
Dammit I did it again!

Quiet in here. I’m fairly familiar with the FP lineup but find myself ready to step up to something dedicated to concentrates. I understand that the TBucket was designed to be left on the rig but I would like to display mine when not in use. I see the heat post will work on the DCup. Does that hold true for the TB too? Both 14 and 18mm joints?

I am also confused about the differences other than size and weight?

The answers are in this thread. With photos of the two side by side...

This site will miss emmdeemo, and all he offered, but his posts are still here.... try the very functional search “thread” feature....
