Out to lunch
My wife sometimes coughs with the PD, but not from heat. "It's so smooth I can't tell I'm getting a big hit" is her comment.I noticed you coughed a bit, is that normal?

Not usually. I had just taken an extremely large hit. The heat from the vapour isn't bad at all. It's palatable and warm. It gives almost an oily sensation in the mouth.I noticed you coughed a bit, is that normal? How do you find the heat of the vapour? Unfortunately I'm sensitive to heat.
i use a manual herb grinder for PD usage and an electric coffee grinder for baking/cooking/eating betty crocker cookies, which is fun occasionally. my only aversion to using the coffee grinder for vaporizing is possible air obstruction but i haven't tried it yet so i can't say for sure....stonemonkey55 said:If you want to get maximum vapeage you could put your herb thru a coffee grinder. The manual grinders work ok, but I think the size that it breaks it down to is better for the types of vapes where you have to stir every couple of hits. When you stir, you also break down the plant matter so that more surface area is exposed for future vaping. With the PD, hard to stir and break down your material in the small bowl so I found running my medicine thru a coffee grinder to be very effective. On the walls of the griner, it starts collecting kief-like material and if you top off your bowls with some of this, you can get 8-9 hits per stem, just ridiculous.
A word of caution, if you grind your herb thru a coffee grinder, you're gonna be left with something that looks waaaay smaller than you started but at least the weight is the same
Thanks SM. When I was about 12, Ive tried capoeira too, only until the firsts 'bandas' I took, when I quit on my fighting sports interest.stonemonkey55 said:Urutbsb ola! Good to see you back on the forum jeff. The SSV/PD club has added some members lately. :ssv:jeffp said:i use a manual herb grinder for PD usage and an electric coffee grinder for baking/cooking/eating betty crocker cookies, which is fun occasionally. my only aversion to using the coffee grinder for vaporizing is possible air obstruction but i haven't tried it yet so i can't say for sure....
If you clean the tubes on even a semi-regular basis, the screens will stay quite clean. With the supplied purple cleaning bottle (Pammy's idea), cleaning the tubes is very easy. I think grinding to powder for the PD is a little overkill. It tends to restrict airflow too much unless you put in a loose load, and then you have to watch out for spillage from the bowl. I've got some now that's in the 'bottom of the barrel' state (a fine powdery consistency) and the PD is not my favorite vape for it. Even so, I think you'll find the PD is a huge improvement over the Vapir as far as keeping the screen clean. There's very little condensation with this vape. Also, if you blow out your remains immediately after finishing the bowl, it comes out easily, vs. letting the bowl cool off.UrutuBsb said:With my former vaporizer, if I grind the herbs to a powder form, the screen get always clogged.
I had to clean it everytime I used it, even during the use of the same load.
How often the screen of the PD clogs, when using finelly grind herb?
Speed vs quality. You beat me to it vtac.
I always do this and seldom have any screen clogging. I haven't soaked a stem for over a month and one is starting to get a little restricted but only marginally. I have tried the picking it out method and after a day of use the airflow became quite restricted. A evenly packed bowl will bind together and form a plug that should come out most of the time in a uniform ball. This is another reason I dont bother stiring a PD bowl.if you blow out your remains immediately after finishing the bowl, it comes out easily, vs. letting the bowl cool off.
