Right, haha or left Lol.: :D,After having the Wand for two weeks in my rotation, I can say I Love it!
didn't like my own skills with a torch..........so dyna was always a mmmm let's try something different once a day....SHIT still hate it.
Enter the Wand: took me two days to find my personal" yummy my like"spot which is with 2019M + captive cap with customised condenser in a "Trift Drifter wood stem", I also love to use the titanium bowl with a captive cap without the condenser in "Trift's" long stem.(Kanuka wood).
Hehehe Finally , i'am right now well into the dyna verse.Did last day an exclusively Dyna/'Trift's"day and ooohh my god did I get high as fuck.
I did,34 bowls, and then the wand died out(recharged now), but that was also enough for me.... I loved the experience.:love:.
P.S. (thank you Trift, I really enjoy your beautiful gift to me.:love:.)

And I am also clearly a fan of the wand!

Hi love my wand but just wondering if anyone favours a particular tip/cap combo as have heard the captive cap mentioned quite a bit . I prefer the ti tip , for some reason my 19M ss tip is a bit more inconsistent and hits seem to be a lot harsher sometimes ...
Still haven’t dialled the wand in yet even after a couple months so any tips would be great .

Hello,

I'm using the Wand since few times as IH for my dynavaps (TipM18, tipM19 and ti-tip).
I wasn't really interested at first but I took advantage of a great deal on Classifieds to test the device.

I have the EU version with the concentrate/dry herb switch. It doesn't matter when used as an IH (I think).
The flashing light when it heats up is green when it's on plants and orange when it's on concentrates.

I'm very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the heating (well, not so much because I had read the reviews here, especially @TommyDee who is a kind of IH reference for me due to his knowledge and knowledge sharing on this forum).

I like the slow heaters because I find that it produces a better quality vapor, density, power. I had as experience a home IH that heats in 12 to 15 seconds for very satisfactory results. I find these results with the Wand. I heat 3 times / bowl, i past the click 1 seconde on the 1st one. I get 3 nice clouds!

Added to that, some practical aspects: removable batteries, possibility to play with the depth of the heating but also the auto or manual mode, the automatic shut off; and you have a really practical and efficient IH, well made. The autonomy is interesting too (about 50 clicks or 15 bowls in my case).

I put a little silicone plug at the bottom of the Wand that I set exactly where I wanted my tip to go down, which gives me perfect hits every time, just the way I want them.
It works better with my older caps although I have good results with a captive cap + Titip as well.

To compare, I also have the VapeHeater which has a more aggressive heating and in the end, gives me less satisfactory and more random results.

My only major drawback is that the Wand heats up easily and inopportunely when in contact with metal (since it has no bottom). For example, my desk....
I tested the Wand to consume dry herbs (with the cup pierced): I burned 2x (at setting 3 and 1), I stopped: no interest for those who already have good vapes dedicated to herbs I think.

I have a Wand on the way. And it seems I should probably get one of these adapters to make it easier for Dynavap use....

But I gotta ask (because I'm not sure what I'm missing here)... why is this adapter really needed? I mean, I dont understand why you cant just lay the Wand down on your non-metal table or desk, and just sort of insert the tip of the Dynapvap stem down into the induction hole of the Wand until it clicks (maybe feather it a bit in and out if necessary).

Do you have to be holding the Wand in hand when heating the Dynavap tip?
Is the adapter JUST so that you can drop the Dynavap down into the hole and not have to be holding onto the Dynavap at all while its heating?
I have noticed a few people saying a 18-14mm glass adapter inserted into the hole keeps the Dynavap upright as well?

I might be missing something here.

This is the reason I got it. The insert also comes with spacers that let you adjust the depth of insertion. I drop in the vapcap, double click the wand button and wait for the cap click. Hands free.

Ok I see. But what about my other question...

Is there anything wrong with just laying the Wand down on a table, and just holding onto the Dynavap stem and inserting into the induction hole, take a couple hits, repeat, etc...?

Is there some reason why you would HAVE to be holding onto the Wand in hand during this process?

Nothing wrong with using it as you have described. It's quite a flexible heater that can be used in different ways. I plan on getting the DV insert at some point. :rockon:

The only thing I can think of is that if the DV is standing in the Wand opening I might be concerned with burning the surface it was standing on. Most uses I have seen without an insert involves holding the DV in the wand opening in the air.

Thank you. Yes, I wasnt imagining leaving the Dynavap standing on its own, just holding it in the hand and inserting into the induction hole on the Wand, which would be resting on the end table next to me.

Has anyone tried using the 18-14mm glass adapter (or some other glass adapter) inserted into the induction hole to keep the Dynavap upright? Any pics of a setup we can see?

My 18 to 114mm glass adapter just wobbles about. I had a slice of wine bottle cork in the bottom of my SJK IH that worked a treat and would also work well here. I just 'fire' the Wand and dip the VC in from the top if hands-free on the Wand or bring the Wand down on top of the VC at other times like on a bong or when no resting spot is at hand.

I’ve been trying different things for a while to make the Wand more DV friendly. I used a couple 14-18mm adapter versions then used Focus Vape 18mm adapter. Using a grommet at the bottom of the adapter only 1st, it would stay in but not firmly, added small grommet at the top as well and that holds it in firm. The 1st 14-18 adapter I put a cheap Chinese 10-14mm adapter in the 14-18 to keep the DV from dropping thru and because I have a few I found one that gave the best position for the DV. Next was another 14-18mm adapter with a Carta crystal insert held in by a silicone straw where I could adjust the bottom by how much the insert was in the straw, that worked really good. Final one I‘m working with is a Focus Vape Pro accessory 18mm adapter with a SS concentrate cup with very thin silicone grommet to hold in place and is still adjustable. Here’s my Ispire Orion with some part setups. Maybe some helpfull tips too.

Okay @Petetbay - I've been avoiding a bottom in my Wand for some time now. I found a good technique and have been following it all this time.

But your serious endeavor into making a simple bottom that is not CF intrigued me.

I put a scrap of lumber in the lathe and made a disk that is captured by just the red silicone washer. Turns out the ID is 7/8" and rests up against the glass. I could see a few o-rings in the glass to decrease the ID of the glass to maintain the VC centered. Turns out to be a fairly decent hold.

Also turns out that the bake at this setting is what I was used to getting freehand.

What do you think?

Not bad idea to use wood, would never thought of that. :bang: Does the DV stand straight up on it’s own? I tried the same idea using a silicone cap that fit just right, but it wouldn’t stand up on it’s own. I wanted it so I double click for auto, drop the DV in to start it, then when cap clicks, click the button to stop it or lift it out when I want, works good don’t have hold the DV up, kinda like the Orion.

@Petetbay - A new cap stands up fine on the wooden disk. If the ingress is too deep, add an adhesive backed cork dot. I like cork and wood better than silicone because silicone tends to be a significant heatsink.

If the DV cap has a dent, it may not stay up straight. If you want to reduce the ID of the glass so the VC doesn't tilt then maybe a few silicone o-rings sitting freely in the glass just to reduce the ID a little would solve the remainder.

I might try one later with a 'skirt' to keep the VC centered. I like this mostly because it doesn't impact the glass at all.

lol still surprised you guys are still hung up about a physical hard stop, I praise the wand for this specific reason - a complete through hole opening so I can use the ih to apply/shift the heat at various places on the dynavap to dial in the hit I want. Various tips/caps all require diff techniques, but you can get them to hit all alike

I'm also satisfied with a physical hard stop arranged exactly where the shot is good for me, every time. Give me more simplicity and easy use when my mind is busy. I put a silicone disc but i'm gonna try the wood disc.
I already have a piece of ice cream stick for months in my home made HI and it works great. It can warp with time and heat but it's easy to replace if needed (if you like ice creams...)
