Couldn't agree more with you. I have tried a couple of IH and the wand is far better for Dynavap. So there. If George believes the Orion v2 better than the Wand then he is madder than I thought.
Did I imagine that?
Love my Wand more than my other two IHs combined, and then a bit more.

Yesterday we lost George's [DV founder] support for the Wand during insta/TeaTime. It lacked 'control' without the bottom and it is an 'aweful big coil' <paraphrased from recollection>.
I love the variable heat option with the unimpeded chamber of the Wand. Easy to judge the depth, specially if you come in from behind the coil.
Although it does have a big coil, it is what I consider a hot heater due to the ingress depth available with variable depth. I measured it to be a 45 watt heater on a non-descript cap. Stack that up against a 90 watt heater and you heat twice as long at 45 watts for the same energy imparted to the cap. 5 seconds vs. 10.
More realistically, most heaters will come in around 60-80 watts depending on the cap. I will need to get more data from the Wand. Need a 'tuit'.
And again, the Wand exhibits extremely similar behavior between caps. This is where the larger coil works - more forgiving on depth and cap variation at the click. Both positive traits in my book. I'm doing a lot of sippin'n'Dippin' to get that last bake to dark remains. Very convenient with auto heating.
PSA - Did you catch where that in standby firing mode when it is blinking red is a low power feature? Let it blink; very little battery usage going on.
The Wand as to what it was designed for, it is what Orion should have been in performance and finish. So far I like a lot of things about the Wand except that I want to put 18350's in there to reduce the size a bit more. If it indeed remains under 10 amps with hotter caps, this would be something. Listening @Aspire?
Still doesn't beat a Fluxer Flite or Hotshot for pocket worthiness but the Wand is in the running. Top 3 in my collection for sure. Using them all every day. You heard Jeff might be at it again soon, right?
My understanding is that the wand doesn't have a temp sensor as such but a timer that has been tuned to the concentrate cups. It will heat for the same amount of time either you start from stone cold or a warm one -it assumes you'll start from a cold bowl. Was using the wand last ight with a Dynavap. I left it on auto fire. Ater about 3 clicks, when the wand was in, it "achieved temp" Thelight came on steady. I took the cap out of the wand. Put it back and it was still "hot" with the light steady.
When you push or hold the button afterturning iton,it shows 3 temp sensors.
It may be the COIL has achieved temp.

You can observe this by heating a cup to temp and immediately reheating the hot cup, it will heat for just as long as the first time. I think if the wand had a sensor and other smart features it would have been more expensive.Where did you hear that @Riik ? That doesn't sound right. With a DV is doesn't sense temp but with their cups I am quite certain it is doing some kind of interpolation.

I find the dab smooth on the first heat cycle as follows, no coughing,I’ve seen of dabbing with this show lots of coughing
I read it in a couple of reviews, SneakyPete's comes to mind. You can do the experiment yourself as thegreenmenace says; the wand will heat for the same amount of time either you start from a cold DV or a already warm one, if you keep the time the same you'll probably combust the second time.Where did you hear that @Riik ? Oh, that would be normal. The VapCap never triggers the internal temperature sensors of the Wand.I read it in a couple of reviews, SneakyPete's comes to mind. If you are going to have genius ideas you should space them out a bit. coming up with a follow up is gonna be tough after these two beauties.thinking out loud a bit but I wonder whether the encased ferrous metal cup approach could be applied to a glass dynavap tip. Something like:
- encased ferrous metal glass tip
- glass cap, maybe with thin bit of metal in a sealed chamber in the top so it still clicks and shallow channels for airflow
that way you could have an induction heated all glass path (other than a screen) dynavap
or even a convection version where it’s a ferrous lined glass heater around the same size as the standard tip+cap with pearls in it, that attaches to the end of the standard tip to draw hot air into the dynavap
Hi which adaptor is that on your wand please ?It packs out nicely as well..View attachment 9907
does anyone have reccomendations where to order this in the EU (not UK)?
thanks, i know they have a good reputation, but almost 170€ w/o batteries is too much imo. i have seen offers for 130 british pounds including batteries (but not shipping to continental europe). i might just have to wait for sales coming up..The Wand Ispire, vaporisateur pour concentrés, plantes et résines.
