Disappointed that the haze square just fizzled out without a fight. But I can’t say I’m surprised. IMO, there were some fundamental design flaws that doomed this device from the start. All their makeshift solutions to address the issues resulted in a product that was too complicated and cumbersome for the average user.
There should’ve been a replaceable battery to address the the horrible battery life. But they chose the USB-C charging as a workaround. After watching a video of how to replace the battery, it was totally feasible to add an accessible battery compartment. It may have affected the esthetics of the unit but function over form would’ve been the way to go.
Next is bowl size. The machine is a herb hog. It’s surprising they didn’t reduce the bowl size, particularly because there are 4 bowls. Some have voiced that they like the size but I think most agree that they would like to have the option of microdosing without the need to spend more money on spacers. Therefore, the pods should’ve maybe been half it’s original size. If I want more, I’ll just vape another bowl.
Finally, I think their design was TOO modular. It’s great that almost every piece was user replaceable but there were way too many pieces, making it difficult to maintain and too troubleshoot when problems arise.
I bought one fully accepting these shortcomings because you can’t complain about the price. But it is a disappointment because my unit will now be a brick as soon as I run out of batteries and coils or if it breaks.
Back when I was ready to buy, it came down to the square and the ghost. I chose the square because despite its shortcomings, the benefits at that price point made it worth it. Now I’m back to square one (pun intended). Should’ve just bit the bullet and bought the ghost mv1 which I personally think is overpriced and has an equal number of drawbacks. At least the ghost is still around....for now
.
Oh well, buh bye Haze Technologies, thanks for nothing.
