I have wanted to make bramble jelly for a couple of years, but the last few seasons have been rubbish, this year it's good, got loads of nice brambles and here's what happened:

Brambles.JPGHere are the brambles, hard not to just eat some of the bigger juicier ones!
Bramble Brambly Stew.jpgMake a stew with brambles, bramley apples and water.
Time to let it drip.jpgAll the fruit is mushy - let it drip into a bowl overnight.
Here we go.jpgStarting to boil with the sugar added!
This is Jam Hot.jpgThis is JAM HOT!

And here's the final product, beautifully clear Bramble Jelly!

p.s. can't ever make jam without thinking of Beats International

I've never heard of brambles before.
Is "bramble" another term for a blackberry, or is it a different kind of berry?
I ask because the picture looked like what I would normally call blackberries.

Yeah same same, especially blackberry, but also includes other berries!!

Definitely one of my favourite, nothing tastes quite like them. Well worth the effort and the scratches, hehe

Coming to the end of the season for fruit and vegetables but mother nature's fungi starting to pop up. Some field mushrooms but the whole area will start their frantic foraging for ceps very shortly.

Am making a moussaka later and the peppers will be roasted for eating during the week. The majority of the peppers will be preserved later in the week. Have a lot more to pick....
