Sfingi (pictured above) was a bit fancier then the later mentioned "Zeppole".
I was a Zeppole guy!
When I see the word "Zeppole" My mind spins to my youth... and the street fairs that took over our neighborhood blocks for that wonderful time!

& Sfogliatella my dream pastry... were of course a more rare and "intricate" pastry usually only found at the Catholic Church sponsored
neighborhood fairs.
