Out of nowhere, I had to come in and tell FV "Hey!".
Due to highly medicated state.
Still rocking the FV with S2, on the PA level 7 to the top.
Wonderful ride!

Ordered my S2 kit today. Also left a message for the good FV people to come to this site and "assess" my situation with my sometimes failing unit. Hopefully it will keep working as it has the last few days (95 % of the time) and I'll have some fun checking out the total convection mode.

I v got my new ceramic spacer after the old model spacer brake down.
I v tried it but no smoke at all...I have brand new S2 batteries. Am I doing something wrong ?
With the old spacer, before it was totally damaged after a week, the clouds were huge...disappointing..

If you are using it in identical manner, and no vapor... there is issue.
Time to trouble shoot.
Is your unit heating up at all?

This should not happen. The difference between the two versions simply isn't enough to make the FV stop working. Something else is the cause. Are you using the same material? If you put some in the FV and just hold down the button for 10 seconds, what happens? If you remove the spacer completely and just use it in conduction mode with the S2 battery, what happens?

Yes exactly same material. If I put some in the FV and hold down even 12 to 16 seconds I just get the FV outside heating up a lot but no clouds...tomorrow I ll try to remove the spacer and see what happen in conduction mode. Few days ago in conductiopn mode was working fine. The batteries are brand new. I v left them unused for five days but I guess should not be a problem. Thanks for your fast feed back !!

FV batteries (S1 or S2) should not lose any noticeable charge if you leave them on the shelf for a lot more than five days.

Try this. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Remove the spacer and tabbed screen, take the FV into a dark room, and hold down the button. Does the screen start to glow, and if so how long does it take?

In the spirit of "Is it turned on?", are you using the S2 battery?

The FV was one of my first vape, I liked it, especially for concentrates and its one hit hability BUT I don't like how it eat the battery, the harsh and hot vapor (for my gentle lungs), it need lot of cleaning time and the need to change lot of pieces which are fast used (screens, spacer, o-rings, battery) is a pia.

And since I needed 2 replacements in 6 months and after one broken power button I decided to sold it
(I was not happy to do it but I don't use it enough and after to got the Dabbler I decided oil pen are a easier one hitter way imho)

It's just my experience, it's a very good device very well built, powerfull but you need to be a mechanic guy!

And the CS of FV is awesome, really good guys!

Your experience and mine are a bit different.

I rarely have to clean mine. I am still using the same tabbed screens that I started with and have never had to clean them. The top screens are a different story. Even with brushing after every bowl they do clog up and need ISO cleaning. The only part I have had to change is the heater screen, which I have burnt out from frequent use. Basically, small pinholes eventually appear in the heater screen under and around the contact rods and this causes the FV to run cooler. Most people will take a long time to wear out a heater screen, if they ever do. I therefor respectfully disagree with your conclusion that you need to be a mechanic. I'd say the FV is actually a pretty low maintenance device.

I found brushing the top screen while it is still warm leaves the screen the cleanest... right after session.

Good advice. I know I should do this but I'm terrible at remembering. Last night I thought my FV was not pulling too well. When I held my top screen up to the light, I couldn't see through it. :p

I am compulsively clean with my FV.
That screen gets the "brush off" immediately, even if I leave meds in the unit.
Like you, though.. I do not have need to clean the tabbed screen.

Yes, I agree for the tabbed screens, but top screen need lot of maintenance and the heater screen lot of replacement.
It's not a bad vaporizer, even very powerfull but no so easy to use and to clean than my Xp (big learning curve too), not really portable (the portable at home) and not really versatile (vaping trough water pipe is a pia).
It's just not my cup of tea, I sold mine to a friend and he loves it, he just vape 1 or 2 bowl per day, he wants to save his medecine so this one hitter vape is perfect for him (and his tolerance is really low).
I don't want to make a bad publicity to FV cause it's a very good product so I stop to post anymore about my experience, it was not for me but I found an addict for it!

Very impressed with FV's wonderful customer service.

Here's an update on my intermittently malfunctioning FV.

CS suggested I try tightening the sections of the unit again especially the section with the SS (power) button. I had previously done this already when it first started misbehaving but this time I actually undid it and had a look inside. All appeared good, shiny and clean in there except for some minor thread stripping on the beginning of the (male) threads, no biggie. I gave it a wipe-down with some light oil and a piece of paper towel and re-assembled it twisting it together very tightly this time. So far 3 days of use (approx twice a day) and no problems. I need to give it another 2 or 3 weeks to be convinced but feeling very positive right now and hoping for the best.

S2 kit should be here any day..... so glad to have it back to fully functional.

I don't think you're giving the FV bad press, you're just describing why it doesn't suit you. No vapourizer is suitable for everybody. I'd say that your experience wouldn't be typical, especially if you had to replace the heater screen even just once.

Well once again I have changed up the light. This is the forth version I believe and the finial one..?
This one came about as I found a little clip light that had a more stable off/on "clicky" switch.

This light originally had a 50 ohm resister in series with the LED which was a way too bright. I changed it out for a 1.5 Kohm resister to dim it down and extend the battery life. Also, added a small piece of shrink wrap tubing to the LED to stop any side view of the LED's light.

FVFinialLight03_zps4a420413.jpg

The light location has been moved and is attached to the stem rather than an addition mount. This improves the light direction as is now in line with viewing angle. The stem has been change up some to position the stem to accommodate the the light. Also gives a more comfortable viewing angle. I JBed a wheel of sorts to the stem so the light can clip to it.

Views from to new location.

The wait....

The payoff....

This sure beats having to be by an external light source to vape with confidence.

Just had a few flash vape bolws but I used the glass form a dripper bottle to restrict the draw and it works very well at helping me get bigger hits from the flash vape

When I was using the flashvape with the fv stern I just can't get it to work how I want with the restriction from the dropper stem its just working much better for me

I think this is going to become my sneek in the bath room vape

The dripper stem I used was One with a sort of ball on the end
I tried one that just got thinner but found this one was more restricted and worked better
I have also tried blocking off 4 of the 6 holes which was good but not as good as this

Just had a few flash vape bolws but I used the glass form a dripper bottle...
I just went ahead and did a couple of sessions as you described.
I can see how if a person has any issue with restricting their airflow on intake, this would make the prospect foolproof.
I found that the use of the dropper restricted airflow, so the meds were able to heat longer and the air was less able to cool things down.
Watch out for combustion using this technique.
I like the uniform tube, but I see the point.
The sessions were good, nonetheless.

My dad can only seam draw fast he hates the flash vape as he can't use it I think he may like it now

I had a real problem with combustion using the stock flash vape i would always push to far and combust
With the dripper I have only combusted one time
It seams the draw with the dripper is just perfect for me
Plus I can get them from the chemist on my that's down my road so if I brake one its no bother
Don't you hate braking something and having to wait for a new one to come

I think the dripper will help me to learn to use the flash vape
